I got the opportunity to meet with and interview Tim Rowett - the charming old man from the Grand Illusions RU-vid channel.
He keeps all his toys in stacks and stacks of briefcases in his small flat in Twickenham. Wherever we turned, he always had a new novelty, magic trick or illusions to show us. We got a lot of great footage - all edited here into one complete package for your enjoyment.

Oh yes that would have made some great footage! It was such a blast going over there - I actually got to play with a lot of the toys which introduced me to Tim's videos when I first found them a few years ago. It was an amazing experience!

I think a lot of people like him because it's just such a very clean show. Even as someone who loves to involve myself in politics, it's such a nice break to watch something so clean, proper, and uncontroversial. There's nothing negative and everything is described from a perspective of wonderment. It's just so different from the polarization we constantly see around the world and particularly on many, many RU-vid channels.

Big up to whoever did the subtitles. I'm only 29 and I'm starting to go deaf and I can't watch anything on RU-vid or on TV without having them on, otherwise I'll have no idea what is going on or being said unless I have the volume high. Its so upsetting when there's a video I want to watch but it doesn't have any subtitles, same with movies. I can't watch them at night if they don't have any because I don't want to upset my neighbours or my fiancee.

❤️ Tim! He's a simple man with an unique humor and brings so much joy to his viewers. It's nice to watch something without multiple motives. Tim makes these product creators/crafters proud. Those Japanese books are beautiful! And Tim did say in one bathroom/toilet paper novelty episode he kept that bike man in his bathroom. I didn't doubt that for a minute.

at 29 years old I still love toys. I love checking out the quarter machines at stores (check out PixBrix!) and still buy the odd yoyo or random fun toy when I see something particularly cool at the store. Legos still amaze me. I hope when im Tims age I can still appreciate cool things like these.

He is just so humble and nice :) Don't even know anymore how i even found his channel, but i'm glad i did stumble across :D You can't quite explain what it actually is that is so fascinating about his videos, but when watching them you can't help but getting in a better mood. It feels like an escape from your everyday problems and such..
