I'm super excited to try jp out. Seeing Brian and other youtubers look interested in him makes me happy. Gonna be a lot of fun videos week 1 with this character to look forward to.

I definitely get that internal struggle. The urge to pursue a character you have a passion for vs the character that's gonna bring you home the bread. Even at a non-competitive level, I feel it. Whenever I get roped into Guilty Gear Strive, I'm stuck in this 3-way crossroad between commitment, passion and results. Giovanna was my first and is someone I vibe with decently, so you'd imagine I'd play her most. However, I've always loved I-No's blend of shenanigans and really want to play her, but I just can't get a proper handle on her. Then there's Ky, who I actively do not care about, because I am stubborn and miss how he used to play, but he's nasty-good right now and is my out against most people at my locals, so I feel compelled to play him just because I win with him. Now, I've never been a character-loyalist type, so this doesn't hurt me too bad anyway, but I can understand that feeling of wanting to play a character despite knowing there are more solid options for you out there.

Besides Juri and Manon, JP is definitely a character I want to play. As of late, I’ve developed a liking for characters that specialize in space control and setups. JP has all of that wrapped in a fancy bow and I love it

Glad to see there is a high skill tricky characters, because like you mentionned, it feels hard to pick a first character to try out as they feel somewhat similar. Not that I will be able to play that character, but more spices is good.

As much as I want to see the return of Tournament Brine, I gotta say I've been enjoying Content Brine a lot.

I love psycho characters as it is(M. Bison still one of my favorite SF fighters of all time) and the second I saw JP revealed I thought, "yup, he's my main. Hands down." Just love the aesthetic, the playstyle and the mind games he brings. Trying to figure out a second character though. I usually always play Ken, so maybe him, but he doesn't speak to me in SF6 as he has in other titles. Time will tell.

As a Bison main, I was automatically intrigued to main JP. Looking forward to some sick dirty AF combos with this character.

I think playing a character you think is sick is really important. JP looks difficult to play, and that might make him difficult to lab against. I think the first person to figure out JP's cheap shit will have a field day against players who don't know what's happening. I think Brian could find a lot of success as long as his lab time is focused on finding cheap shit, and then playing long sets against a good player to find out if that cheap shit is real. Sort of like a SonicFox approach, where they find a mix-up that's nasty, and then their gameplan is to force opponents to play that mix-up. OP gets hit by it twice, finally starts to understand it, and then as soon as they begin to block correctly Sonic changes to a different nasty mixup.

I can’t wait for the extra skins and stages.

Im a Juri/Cammy/Ed main since forever, but JP is making me want to switch lol. He has massive drip and I like his style a lot. One of the coolest designed Fighting Game characters for sure. EDIT: Also he has a banging theme. His theme is inside my top 3.
