UPDATE: After 1 year and 5 months, we finally saw each other! The pandemic changed both of our lives, but it affected him more. And how I wished that I was there beside him. I wish that I was able to support him better. I wish I was able to hold his hand and hug him tightly, reassuring him that he's not alone. I was still unvaccinated that time, making it unsafe to travel plus travel restrictions again. I am so proud of him for being able to carry on after facing all the challenges that he didn't deserve. He's been so strong. But being strong all the time is exhausting. He broke up with me. He told me that he still loves me, but he has to fix his problems on his own. He needs time for himself in reorganizing his life. He has a lot of family responsibilities aside from his personal goals. He's always tired, barely having time for himself. Finally he told me that he didn't want me to get caught up with his problems and that he had given up on himself. I cried everyday for more than a month. When he sent me a message that seemed like a suicide note, I broke down and wasn't able to stop crying and shaking. I begged my parents so hard to let me visit him in the middle of the rising cases of covid in our country due to the delta variant. I thought of running away. I have to let him know that I am here for him. That he is soo loved, and he is soo much more than he thinks he is. It was impossible, but I was able to convince my strict parents to let me visit him. It was a miracle. It was their surprise birthday present for me. I'm forever thankful for them. Because of that, we were able to reunite..against all odds. I picked out my best dress and packed him a small box of goodies as well as smoked fish from our province. I was so anxious and excited the entire trip heading to their house. It felt so good to hug him tightly and reassure him in person. We held hands the entire time we were together. We took a trip on a place with views of the mountains which I hope eased his mind for a bit. Until now I still can't believe that he was there sitting beside me, smiling. I hope our date made him realize that I love him so much and I will be there for him until he is ready to allow himself to be happy again. I hope that we will slowly regain our communication and our love. I wish he can allow himself to share his problems with me, without seeing himself as a burden for me. I will love him everyday, til the day that he is ready to love again. Please pray for us. Please pray that he gets the blessings that he really deserve. Pray that he'll get good news more than the bad news that he's been receiving constantly. Pray that my next update will be about the day he'll tell me that he's ready to come back to our relationship. I love you Jeth, everyday.

It has been hard to be so far from eachother for so long but we still have faith and we stand strong. We love eachother profoundly. But you are right! This thing of materiality and inmediateness is a problem for many LD relationships and thats why it doesn't work for many people. I am an introvert and enjoy my alone time but it’s been 9 months since I saw my LDR partner and it’s legally impossible to anytime soon... so, it is very hard.

When I am unsure, especially on how someone feels about me, I pray to God to help me see what I should do. And He always helps me. I'm not sure if you believe in Him, but what I'll say is that just look at how your boyfriend is acting and other signs and see you guys should keep staying together. It would be very heartbreaking to break up...but we need to make sure we are healthy emotionally. I don't know if this helped, but I'll pray for you!❤
