The main problem is that the children don't care that he doesn't write, they will be angry and furious, and I can't help but understand his reluctance to provoke this place full of hellhounds once again, and just keep quiet.

Kids are just flat out impatient. There's no issue with infrequent updates on what's going on, people would still be spamming the same thing because they thought it would be out immediately.
