@@Sound_Spark tbh I've had venison and it wasn't anything special. As with all things it depends how you cook it and what you serve it with. A well cooked piece of beef with the right gravy can be 🤌 But a badly cooked piece of chewy beef in some chunky off the shelf Oxo stock gravy is going to be awful.

I haven't watched or read Holes in such a long time I think I'm way overdue for a rewatch. I didn't even recognise the reference. 💀 The book and movie are great, definitely in my top 10.
