please do like a travelling guide but with books! read one recommended book from different countries, by author from that country, maybe starting with Europe continent - it could be a series!
I know Jack made a book planner and in it there is a list of a bunch of books he recommends from different countries (kind of like what you are talking about).
I'm not sure if you know this already but last year on his main channel he did have a series like that. The point of the series was to have each video dedicated to a specific region of the world. He only did two videos though. The first video was him reading Arabic books and the second video was him reading Asian books. It would be nice though if he continued it.
I've recently started a book club at college, and literally most of our ideas for events are based on your videos 😭 you're just such a huge inspiration
I wanna join a book club ! There’s a few around me that I’m thinking about but I’m unsure of what most book clubs include, like are all book clubs you read a book and then give your opinion and have a chat about it or is there more?
Jack feels just like the imaginary freind i used to have as a kid but in a more mature version, i mean he just feels like comfort, he's clever without making you feel stupid and he's just so sweet and funny . And that's one of the reason of my actual longing to sanity.
Video idea I think would be fun: I saw that Reddit has a bunch of pages of people asking for book recommendations and because you are so well read I would love to see a video where you screen record and basically go through and give book recommendations to people on Reddit!!
"don't be sad, go buy a new book" this audio practically describes jack (and me) he's the most relatable booktuber ever omg!!! BTW, IM READING THE HEARTSTOPPER SERIES TOO!!! SO EXCITED FOR THE TV SHOW 😍😍 LOVE YOUR VIDEOS JACK!! also, seeing you love the same yters and artists as i do is so awesome, (Taylor swift, Harry styles, Emma chamberlain, etc) another reason to love jack ps- WE NEED ANOTHER COLLAB WITH STEPH PLEASE
Ahhh, the trailer & the books are both so so good! If, like me, anyone‘s not keen on dishing out for the books though, the author‘s put them all online on io & webtoon!
@@xandra3984 yess, I just saw it on webtoon, gonna start reading it soon! Also, is the entirety of the comic on webtoon or is it following a weekly schedule like other webtoons? Because if so, I’ll just buy the graphic novel
I can't tell you enough how happy i am that you liked a Turkish author's book. Elif Shafak is a favorite of mine too. There are such wonderful authors i'm sure you will enjoy. I fully recommend you to go deeper in Turkish literature, you will find new favourites.
I read heartstopper too! About a week ago I read it all in basically one sitting 😭 now currently reading volume 5 as it updates on webtoon, can’t wait for the series!
For dialects, I really like using audiobooks at the same time. It makes it super immersive. I did it with "Death of Vivek Oji" and "Transcendent Kingdom"
Aw, I'm so sorry that some of the comments ruined your excitement about these books! I'm just glad to know that you will get to them without prejudice and form your own opinion about them. Can't wait to see these videos you've got coming up!
i've binge read heartstopper early this year to prepare myself for the netflix series and i was so happy to hear when you first mentioned about the books in one of your videos! and now you have a video planned for it which must be something to celebrate the release of the show next week, i'm so excited to see it!! can't thank you enough for re-igniting my passion for reading and now i feel like i'm catching up with a friend every time you share your book recs ❤
WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING WITH HEARTSTOPPER I AM SO SO SO EXCITED FOR!!!! made my day to hear you’ve got a secret project relating to it!! i cannot wait! also i adore your reading vlogs so i am happy to hear you’re shifting to those soon! let’s be real i will watch anything you make though 😅 love you bestie! hope you’re well!
love reading vlogs and glad you are setting boundaries that make you feel comfortable! would watch any content you provide so whatever keeps you around im here for it
Can't wait for your review of "A Man called Ove". I randomly bought it years ago and I think it's my most highlighted and underlined book and it actually had me crying in the bathtub, 10/10
Looking forward to you reading Earthlings. I have heard some reviews that it's pretty disturbing, so it would be interesting to hear what you thought of it as well. Actually, I'm excited for your video of reading translated books as a whole.
Usually I wouldn't say this but I see you in the comments of so many channels that I too watch like swaddle and the jack-universe ofc Its so nice to see someone share similar tastes as me😌😌😌
jack I watch every single one of your videos, I am the slowest reader on earth so I cannot possibly catch up with all of your book recommendations but I watch your videos nethertheles because you have a great personality, amazing humour and work so hard on all of your videos and post so regularly, if you don't make vlogs because you don't think we are interested In you I think your wrong because I love following you in your career and I love getting to know you on a personal level (not in a creepy way lol), but if you stop doing vlogs because its draining on you I fully support that idea. ly as always sorry for the paragraph
So glad you featured/will read Cleopatra & Frankenstein Jack! It's a great book and one not many people are talking about (and they should be). Loved it and hope you do too!
There’s an Aussie bookstore called the book grocers which do mystery boxes that have a bunch of different books and genres. I think there’s like. 20-40 books or something depending on hardcover etc. I’d love to see a “I read every book from a mystery box” video cause I bought one and some books are my new favourite and others are so bad I annotated them to give to friends so they can suffer too! It be interesting to see your opinions too
I love your channel! I get so many great book recommendations! I read The Island of Missing Trees and loved it! I adore trees and found the pov of the tree so original, what a read! I think it’s amazing that you get to travel and read for a living Jack! We are all living the dream through you, share whatever is comfortable for you, we will all be here for the journey with you! I truly believe you are doing what you are meant to do, spread the joy of reading! 💕💯☀️💪🏻
You should do a video where you re-rate your 5 star reviewed books or books that you rated years ago to see if your standards have changed. I feel like this would be really interesting! ☺️
CONGRATULATIONS on your move back to Paris so excited happy for you Jack have amazing memories and journey in Paris xoxo 😚 📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚💕💓💕💕💓💓💓💓💕💓💓💓💓💕💕💓💗❣️🤎💓💕💕💓💗💓💕💕💓
Omg I just bought brown girls on a whim a couple days ago!! I’m so excited to read it!! I just got into booktube and your videos have been pushing me back to reading, this is so nice :)
Hey Jack, I’m from Trinidad and love your channels so much! I’m so excited to see that you’re reading The Bread The Devil Knead - I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it. The Caribbean has so many fantastic writers :)
i ordered your reading log in the mail and it came today!! it’s in great condition with like one little mark but that’s amazing seeing as it was shipped across the word hahah. i’m so exited to use it!!!! also love the videos ur my favorite book tuber ❤️❤️
I love A man called Ove and look forward to the video! Especially as I read it in swedish and seen it everywhere even outside of Sweden after that😄 oh, and you have to pronounce the e at the end like Ov-Eh🤗
Hey Jack! I love your videos so much and I’m subscribed to both channels. You give off such good energy and i’m such a huge fan! You always help me get out of reading slumps and I just overall love your content! ❤️
I read Earthlings yesterday and at the end I thought “I wonder if Jack has read this”; as I said that I opened Goodreads and I saw your review of just a couple hours before! Can’t wait to see it featured in a video!
I'm currently reading, when were birds by Ayanna Lloyd banwo. It is also a book set in Trinidad, your pervious video bringing up the bread the devil kneads really inspired me to find a book I wanted to read set in Trinidad because I myself was not born there but my family was. The dialect is so accurate but so difficult for me to read and will take some getting used to but I'm enjoying the book so far!
These are some exciting reads for sure! I can't wait to hear what you think of a man called ove (you said it pretty great second time around but i don't mind very much). I love Fredrik Backman, I think he's one of the best Swedish authors for sure! I don't read that much in Swedish (I can't seem to find ones that I like for some reason) but Backman always delivers amazing books.
When he mentioned a cool thing with Heartstopper, I just thought that he could be invited by Netflix for the viewing of the adaption of Heartstopper...
We really appreciate your content i did get a lot of ideas by watching this 😁 Also ...I just got Frankenstein (haven't started it yet ) and if i had another opinion i would love to listen to it
Frankenstein is amazing and Mary Shelley's brilliant!!! (coming from someone who doesn't usually read/enjoy sci-fi or dystopian books) I really, really enjoyed it! You should give it a try.
The struggle is so real. Should I do the things I'm need to do today, or should I read. I've got an assignment due at the end of the week and have I done these past couple days? Start and finish a 500 page novel.
