Austin - I am Zimbabwean and have visited Tanzania and Zanzibar ( which I am sure you will - one of the best islands I have visited together with Mauritius, Jamaica and Belize). Tanzanians are one of the most friendliest and kindest people in the world. I salute you because at your young age you are doing what most of the OG youtubers have always said they will but somehow forget to visit the continent. There is a young African American youtuber there called Mark so I hope you get time to link up with him. He is doing a lot of positive things there and is invested in the community. Please realize the danger in a poor area in Tanzania is not the same as in the US or say Colombia or Brazil. These countries have gang activity, gun culture whereas in most African countries guns are almost non existent in the general population and the penalty for getting caught with one is heavy. So you are very safe. Yeah you may get pickpocketed but threat to being harmed is almost zero. The people staring just means they do not recognize you. Go ahead and introduce yourself they will embrace you as a brother. Another tip, you dont necessary have to ask if the driver minds if you reccord. Tell him you are recording and if he minds to be in your video or not. You can still record and exclude the driver but i think most will not mind.

Someone set wrong expectations for this brother; The majority of Tanzanians don't speak English like that! Especially not American, which is not really the English of Tanzania in the first place. Case in point, that brother answered yes, but really meant no, just didn't understand the question, "is this a dangerous area?". Makes for an interesting discovery for this young brother though. Karibu Tz bwana mdogo!

Look like Auston is excited and in a good mood. The smile is a nice touch. As someone who have travelled to about 30 countries myself, I learned late about the power of a smile. In the black community here in the states they didn’t explain to we young black men about the importance and advantages of a good smile. My life could have been much better had someone explained to me early in life that a proper smile can be used to: (#1) put people more at ease, (#2) to make people feel more willing to engage in conversation with you, (#3) to help diffuse a possible confrontational situation, and (#4) to help appear less intimidating. Now I try to wear a smile at all times and I notice a big difference especially when I am traveling overseas.

@@TheAKD56 By "in shape" I think you are referring to the cardiovascular system. Running will improve the cardiovascular system but it is not going to give one big shoulders, arms, and a big chest. 'Can't say who is in better shape but the West Africans have had more success in the sports that require an explosive muscle reaction such as the sprints, the jumping events, boxing, soccer, American football, and basketball. The exception is Uganda. They have had world champions in boxing and the 400 meter hurdles.
