Unless you know where to shoot a bear then you may be out of luck if you thinking you will shoot a bear and it go down just shooting it you have to aim through the mouth for the best shot and that's hard to do you better off carrying a umbrella and spray they are scared of umbrellas

I’m laughing. My whole life I spent in big cities (born in Manila, grew up in West LosAngeles and Las Vegas). 6 yrs ago, I moved to WV because I got married. At first, snow was all magical. It got old quick as it prevented me from doing things! A lot of snowed in days. Even if you have a snow blower mobile, you’re still stuck because the road is black ice! I missy the city. That looks fun! We used to get big sky Montana tourism commercials in Utah all the friggin time! The weather is like that in Utah as well. Want different weather? Just wait a bit. 😂 the dog is adorable and i once slept in a sleeping bag in Yellowstone. Dreamed a couple of bears were licking my ears. The guy in the trailer next to me said I'm nuts cuz two bears were in the camp that night and his dogs went nuts. Hmm but once I did see a mountain lion watch me then walk away as i tied my shoes while trail running and called out to him/her. And St Yellowstone a bison started to follow me around a bit. The park ranger said he/she liked me. 🤣 There's a story behind that. Your adventures are awesome! Keep up the good work!

I'm very late commenting, but came across this doing some research. I live close to Bigfork but have a Kalispell mailing address. I live on rural acreage with a fair amount of bear traffic Spring and Fall (pass through bears) including a small Griz last Fall. I mainly wanted to commend you for testing the spray!!! I had to train myself to draw and spray and I test every new canister (they expire). Anyway, good for you :) !! (I've lived at my current location for 16 years and in the Flathead since early 1994. Glad you enjoyed your time here.

Yip. We were tempted for Idaho. Gotta get outta liberal New York. Montana homes, are in fact, less expensive. We found similar cabins in each state. Four bedrooms, a master bedroom, three bathrooms(All girls!), spacious kitchen & dining, big living room & study area. And a separate cabin/barn for my personal man-cave. Montana, is 15% less. Factor-in the 90 acres of land(also less than Idaho), for the Suffolk Shire breed, along with a few dozen sheep(no cattle!). What scares us with the beauty is the fact of modernization & land development. Definitely increases cost of living to the residents. Colorado, was once very affordable. Ski resorts and the wealthy, now make purchasing homes and land in Colorado, a nightmare.
