The window panes divided in half mean the house was built approx 1930s. The raucous bird call in the background was a koel (koe -ell) like a cuckoo, males are all black. Get to know the local birds.
Your intro was smashing! I literally subscribed on watching it. Congratulations on your move to Australia 🇦🇺! That was brave of you. I cannot wait to see Australia through your eyes.
You should have to pay water usage - landlord pays for the water connection. There is council tax also, but that is covered by the landlord. Laundry outside is very uncommon, you’d only find it in houses built prior to 1970
Huntsman are harmless. They are good to have around as they will get the insects. The place you got is an old style building as for the high ceilings and windows.
How about the spiders is it ok from the location your living as I want to move more to the city to avoid big spiders but its about affordability. Plus is that 500.00 per room or for the whole house
Honestly we've had 3 huntsman in the house in 3 months! But we are surrounded by trees where we are so that's why :) Lots of friends who live in Prymont / Surry hills / newtown etc have never seen any
G'Day, Welcome to Australia,,I hope you have a great time while you are here, I'm not to sure if you are here permanently or not. What ever have a lovely life here...
@@laurwingingit You lucky WOMAN. The huntsman SPIDERS in the North crawl into your bed at night and the hairs all over their body helps keep you warm. You may get a few bin chickens living in your garden to keep you company. Enjoy Miss wingingit. Enjoy your time in Aust mate, you'll be OK.
@@laurwingingit Only three huntsman in a week? At least 5 a day is the norm. That's an Aust record you have there. Struth. By the way Miss winginit, when all the spiders in your house follow your movements with their eight eyes each, you know your are in spider world. Then and only then, you have been accepted into their web of life. Enjoy.
@@laurwingingit Don't worry about anything mate. Huntsmen WILL NOT hurt you. They will eat any annoying insects that may get in. Remember mate, they are your friend. You'll be very very safe. You just enjoy your time in Aust and relacks.
How did u rent from the uk? I’m planning to move but not sure if I should come to Sydney to view and rent or to place deposits etc while I’m still in the uk
I waited til I got here! I did start looking and messaging while in the UK but honestly it just stressed me out as places got taken so quickly, once I got here it was so much easier 🥰
Huntsman spiders won’t harm you at all, aside from making you jump when you first see it inside your house. But you can leave them alone and they’ll be out of sight for weeks, eventually leaving without you even knowing. They’re looking for cockroaches and any other crawlies you might have. In summer, the cockroaches are unavoidable because they live under the ground and the warm air brings them out to explore for food. I hate them! Thank God for the Huntsman!
Majority of Europeans in Australia are descendents of English convicts and pommes that live in Australia, most English people first destination is to immigrate to Australia as its a British colony.
@@trekkie-cat Australia is a British colony look at the flag British rule majority that live there trace their history back to England and Ireland that is a fact , Australia belongs to the idignoeus Aborigines.
@@trekkie-cat Well the Australian flag is under the British and you will never be Australian your skin colour makes you think you belong but the land belongs to the Aborigines.
@@laurwingingitflyscreens are very common. Most likely in an older place not so much. Hope you settle in quickly and enjoy your new life. All the best!! 💖🐱🙏
Oh, you are in the Nth Subs. You are very lucky. The Magies have smiles on their faces when they SWOOP you and the Huntsmen chew a lot slower because their mouths are very very slightly smaller. Oh and all the spiders are a lot lot quieter. ( sometimes ). 😮😮😮
Welcome to my beloved country; They are really small bedrooms, fantastic price though, i've lived in many places in SYD; I wish you all the best, l take care.
