To be fair Platy, ALL the monsters in Stranger Things are named after D&D monsters. None of them appear as they do in the game though. The Mind Flayer for instance is a tall, skinny humanoid with an octopus face with 4 face tentacles and 4 fingers, 3 toes, no private parts. Demogorgon is a large metal bull that emits a gas that would leave people petrified. Vecna, a powerful lich that has a magic hand and eye that many covet.
@@Koda_The_Otaku yeah what I mean but I couldn't remember the dates is when Vecna was created in the 80s it was after Vecna appeared in stranger things which takes place in the 80s, it's by a couple of years.
@@AceThe1AndOnly In the early years of DnD, mid-70's, Vecna was more regard as a myth or legend in the lore since his Eye and Hand were artifact level items and basically taunted anyone who would use them but you are right. He wasn't that relevant until 1990 when they released the adventure module Vecna Lives
100% false! Vecna has been around since 1976! Vecna first appeared in 1976's Eldritch Wizardry, a supplement for the original Dungeon & Dragons rules. He's been in D&D for almost 50 years! 👀
So what I read a few days ago and double checked rn that Vecna was added to Dnd lore in 1989 which is after the time period stranger things take place. But what Koda said was more myth and legend but yes, was created '79
Watching this, I can confidently say if you put platy in a tourney against JRM and Hens, he would eat their ass. Platy might be the most poggers killer
