@Lee KyungMi in music there are notes that the vocalist must match to.make it sound good and that is called on key. I.N sang it either too high or too low and therefore make it not sound as good. That is what they mean by off key. He did not sing the songs notes properly.
It really was such a tiny mistake. I don't even know if most people would have even noticed if they hadn't been ranked by professionals first. Poor baby really did take it hard though.
Idc what anyone says, his voice off pitch, gave a sort of sincerity to the song, as if he was really emotional and was really crying about the story in the song
I honestly thought I was intentional cause I.N does have a voice that’s good for demonstrating emotion so I thought they were playing it up for the scene. But then he cried back stage and was devastated.

Yea, it’s not I.N’s normal laugh. It’s like a panicked, embarrassed laugh. Like he knows what’s coming next so he’s laughing hysterically at how embarrassed he feels.
Everything besides Felix… jokes aside but they all care for eachother let’s be honest… Hyunjin would’ve probably panicked and went to baby him or stand there shocked

I didn't even realize it was a missed note the first 25 times I watched it. I just thought it was heart-wrenching emotion, and it fit the song completely. I've watched it about 50 more times, and it STILL doesn't really sound like a missed note
Yeah, it was an emotional voice crack - something I think many other places in the world appreciate as adding genuine feeling to a performance. I'll be your man was one of my favorite performances, and if they really ranked it last for that little thing - I can only imagine mnet wanted to add drama.
I’m really angry when I read “when I’ve heard Skz are part of the kingdom, I knew they are gonna win”. They planned to remove Hyunjin and prove me it wasn’t planned, the bully allegations didn’t show up before, but exactly when they were challenging other fandoms. I.N. did get an extra hate because of the competition. But c’mon, have some heart, he is a baby. I understand, it was easier to target the youngest and the most innocent you… you know who you are.
I remember seeing hate comments after his performance. Saying things like how he wasn’t ready to debut and shouldn’t have debuted with SKZ. And then other ignorant people agreeing and saying that his vocals just aren’t as strong! I was so mad! Cause there’s so much proof of him singing trot and other ballads well. The note he had to hit was too high to be comfortable for him to hit during performance. That’s not entirely his fault and that doesn’t make him a bad singer.

Late to this. But I swear this was so unfair.... there were many other performers who did a mistake for an easier part and here mnet making drama out of this 🙄 i hope I.N got over it quickly after hearing the fans support.
I swear kingdom was so rude to straykids and mnet even cut out the the part where felix won 2nd flower visual king I was so pissed and to see i.n so sad about his parts when they shocked me of how amazing they were even though mnet and kingdom treated them badly they still did so amazing
Oh wow, I didn't even know they cut out that part. Kingdom overall was great though just in terms of the friendly competition & how much it brought the different groups together, other than that there were so many complications to the way they carried out the show
Yall....I'm sorry I don't like to compare but ateez went through shit....they never told em that there was a sports day....they gave em a storage toom to watch the other performances from what I know and have seen some staff mistreated the members......but I can't say anything this is mnet were talking about.
@@enhypenstan5736 they wanted the drama for the rating, so they made it seem like it was i.n fault their rank dropped with their evil editing, it was a nasty one some vocal couches came up and reacted to the performance and they even talked about how it was not that much of a big deal and I.N should never feel ashame of his performance that day

I am so sad that I.N thinks his lil mistake affect the performance in the fact probably only few will noticed it until he cried. He were so cool and gave his best. I am so proud of him. I hope he will stop to think like that and be more confident and be more proud of himself coz he is very charming and talented.
If you don't forgive I.N. truly your not a true skz fan. It doesn't matter their rank, they really tried there best even though he made a wrong pitch. Even if the rank would've helped their reputation ppl would still forgive him because it was a MISTAKE. Many ppl make mistakes and you just have to forgive or forget it. If you were a true skz fan u would know how much this meant to them, but it was a simple accident. When I sing in choir, concerts, or for my family I sometimes make a wrong pitch and that's fine. Its part of life, when you make mistakes you can learn from them or simply know what to do next time. So you can't say you don't forgive I.N. when he tried probably harder then u tried in ur entire life.
I Love the way his hyung's rush to him and ask what is the problem, he is literally the maknae in SKZ, Stay we should protect our baby I.N, he deserve all of the achievements that he has ❤
I remember comments being mean about him when the performance was uploaded online. It still makes me angry cause I’m sure if he looked online anywhere he probably saw haters blaming him too. I remember one comment from an idiot saying that I.N shouldn’t have debuted with SKZ cause he wasn’t vocally at their level and wasn’t ready! I was so angry! His voice cracked on a high note that he had trouble reaching even during practice. It doesn’t mean he’s not a good vocalist or that he wasn’t ready to debut. He’s a human with limits and capable of making mistakes but that doesn’t make him less talented or an amazing performer. His voice is my favorite and I hope he never ends up in another situation where he’d feel so bad about his performance. All I.N has to do is smile and his performance is 10/10!
I would really liked to see if the ones who said those things can sing better than him 🙂🙂 Can't you see at least he put his effort and just the fact he was this stressed over it shows that he just wanted to prove that he wanted to be the best he can but there's always challanges and this made him stronger ❤
I thought the survival show back when they were younger was heartbreaking but that day I.N cried during kingdom shattered me. I'm so happy he has awesome reliable big brothers who love him no matter what, family comes first to them and he's incredibly blessed to have that.
Honestly, the one time he went off-pitch made it sound more emotional. I personally think it really fit the part. Plus it was known that it’s a difficult song to sing live, he shouldn’t scold himself so much. But i understand why. I’m so proud of him :]
I always thouth that crack in his voice made us feel all the right emotions. Idk how to explain it? I'm not being biased. I didn't even know SKZ like that back then. But It just felt so right!!
It just goes to show how seriously IN takes their performances. Also, Kingdom was a TON of pressure, so cracking a bit once in a while is going to happen. It's great he has the members to lift him back up and remind him how great he is and everyone makes mistakes.
I agree with a lot of people that it sounded more emotional with the way he sang it. Did the judges tell him they were marked off because of that or is he being overly critical of himself? I will beat someone if they insulted our sweet baby!
From what I understand the judges did pin some (at least some, but i think it was a fair amount if i remember correctly) of the blame for the low score on his voice crack, which is so unfair.

First of all, msnake. We can all agree on that. Mnet did so many people wrong in the show and we're still waiting for vengeance. Second of all, I fking broke down sobbing that moment his voice went ''off pitch'' or whatever they want to call it, because I thought it made the whole stage even more emotion-packed. I still listen to that stage and feel my littol heart shatter whenever I hear that part BECAUSE Innie's little ''MiStAkE'' made it sound even more dramatic and heart breaking. We all know this show was for views and to create drama between. We shall not feed into it. Our leaders raised us better than that. We can support our faves without putting others down.

can we just take a moment to appreciate how thoughtful and sensitive changbin is too. i feel like how much of a good hyung and brother in general he is to the rest of the crew gets a little overlooked because he prefers to be goofy in most of their content, but we get a lot of hints as to how compassionate and in-tune he truly is in moments like these and through stories and statements from the others as well. he, innie, and the rest of skz deserve the world, and we should keep doing our best to give it to them❤

I feel so sad that Jeongin felt this way, since I think he still did great! I wish he hadn't beat himself up over this, everyone makes mistakes :( Although I really don't understand how Jeongin's voice crack completely disregarded the performance, especially since, in my opinion, the voice crack wasn't even bad! I didn't even notice it was wrong, I thought it made it authentic. I only realized it was a "problem" until the editors and judges pointed it out. That performance honestly might have been my favourite. It was deeply emotional with a storyline, they pulled off the choreography, the acting/facial expressions were great and the vocals were insane! (Such as Changbin, Jisung and Seungmin's part, that was one of the coolest things I've ever seen). I wish the judges would have recognized how awesome this performance was arghh TT

I remember watching kingdom and wanting to fire whoever came up with asking him about his mistake. He already felt so bad and they decided to question him and record him and post it. I wanted to go off on them for being so cruel. He is a human being too, and like the rest of us he obviously didn’t like his mistakes being pointed out and thrown out for the whole world to see. Regardless I think he and the members did an AMAZING job and it was in no way his fault. And in the end they won kingdom and they couldn’t have done so without him.
The caption of the video had my heart cracked. Everytime I hear Innie cried I feel so sad that I can't even stay calm. Its not only him but every one of them.

i remember watching that performance abt 10000 times when i first found it and only realized he had gone off tune after a friend told me, i genuinly thought he had just added more feeling and thats why the note was like that, but after watching the whole episode it was so heartbreaking to see and hear him cry abt it and being rlly stressed abt it, i can see why chan said they wouldnt participate again bc it caused a lot of stress on the members and himself
I couldn't destroy the world for him because I want him to have the world and discover how beautiful it is it made me sad seeing him blamed himself but there's a quotes sayings that Failing at something forces us to acknowledge where we have room to improve. This can make us stronger and more resilient as we advance one step closer to success. So fighting always INaaaaaaaaaa
he must’ve been so worried for kingdom. I’m sad now I feel like crying because although it was just one performance that he messed up, he cried and felt bad for a long time. he shouldn’t have because they are and will remain one of the best and most talented groups.

That is sad..because that performance is my favourite of all kingdom performance..and i still watch it often and crying because it is such a masterpiece..but it became a sad memory to them😭
I can only imagine how stressful Kingdom was for all participants, especially SKZ because they received a lot of hate back then. It was so traumatic for I.N when Mnet did the evil editing and try to blow his small mistake out of proportion, and they almost lost Hyunjin too during the show.

I wish I could tell him that that performance of I'll Be Your Man is what made me become a Stay. It's an incredible performance, they all did amazing. And I didn't even think twice about the off-pitch moment until they showed him being upset about it after. He's definitely being very hard on himself 🥺
Not to mention when everyone was waiting for the results the host (no one come after the host it was on his cards probably)asked I.N,”How do you think you did?”,and I.N nervously answered that,”I think Skz did well…”.It was so cruel because they hardly put any focus on I.N and in his moment of despair they singled him out IN FRONT OF EVERYONE and brought attention to his mistake.That was so cruel and embarrassing I can’t even 😤🥺😐
And in response I remember a bunch of stay would either turn down the volume (I was one of them) when that small accident happened or creators of videos would edit it out since we saw how it hurt and bothered him.

he really does try hard, at such a young age he’s been doing that. he pushes himself just to be perfect. all of the members do. but I know for them, as big brothers, seeing the youngest blame himself for something that isn’t his fault, hurts. I’m just glad he has great hyung’s to look after him. that truly care for him, that encourage him to keep going, and that he’s doing good. to remind him he’s not alone.
The worst is that the "" fans"" keep telling him that he is talentless and that he should leave the group cause he doesn't fit in it and also I have seen some comments saying that he is becoming fat like really haven't they see that jeongin already has low confidence on himself how can't they see the angel behind him he has an angel voice, personality and dance still people don't like him as much as the others and you can tell by the views that the videos that stray kids put of all the members I. N always gets less views pls give jeongin the love he deserves
