I ended up getting 6 new plants including some huge ones!! I'm so excited for these fun finds! Come plant shopping with me at a Big Box store in Temecula, California 💜 On a mission to get a whole bunch of new indoor greenery 🥰🌟🪴🌿

That calathea 😮❤ I find that calathea and maranta actually don’t need high humidity (I live in UT, so high altitude desert). They get crisping due to hard water so I let my water sit uncovered for 24 hours before watering with it. My calathea are thriving and in ambient

I found a tiny gloriosum at my Home Depot the other day and it was $13!! I can’t believe yours was $19!! Prices in my area are sooo high. The tall fiddle leaf figs are $120!

Omg your Home Depot had so many nice plants! At mine the plants are all hanging on by a thread and they NEVER have anything besides ultra common plants! I think I spied an alocasia frydek in the video. I would be so happy if I could find one that size in my area!!

Home depo where I’m at I got a cool lipstick plant that was in bloom with dark red flowers it was on sale for $10 And then I found a beautiful sansevieria moonshine that had 3 big ones in it for $12! I always spray it or give them a bath before I put in my collection just in case of pests, the other “big box store” near me is overpriced they have more “rare” ones but still not worth the price even on marketplace sometimes they have good sales though that’s when I’ll snag some 😅

When you don't have enough plants 🤣. I bought three small Whitney's, cut the roots off and put them in a mix of MAB Grow (Australian version of Pon) and Leca and they are growing so well I had to upsize them. Semi Hydro has bought back my love of the snake plant. Look forward to seeing where and what you do with them all 🐍🪴

omg omg the way i wish i could have just reached inside my screen and taken some of the plants there!!! my home depot never has this kind of selection when i go there! I did get a really cute croton and parlor palm last time i was there though! I would die if i saw a Philo Brasil, i want one so baaaaaad! and the lime green philo too! you got such beautiful plants and they will have such a great home!

We have something in common... a husband that encourages/ supports our hobbies. I do the same for his as well, but I will always say "You need to stop me" which he replies with "This is what makes you happy, get everything you want" 💸 PS this such a sweet date/ outing and you don't have to spend a lot (I'd be happy with that Peace Lily... or that Dieffenbachia 👀)

15:56 This ctenanthe is super cool, it's burle-marxii and there is a variant called amagaris that has only the leaves with the small stripes on it!

I have one of those ctenanthes (bought it at a grocery store) and it's actually been super easy going and doesn't getting too many brown leaves for me. I love how full and beautiful it is.

Lol if you get one of the regular fiddle/ with leaves all up the stem and put it in the house, it will absolutely drop most of the leaves and look like the one in the store.😅 I’ve never had one, but the only nice on I have seen inside a home was either fake or the person who had it was replacing it regularly.

I don’t often buy from big box stores, but I’ve had a Peperomia clusiifolia tricolour on my wishlist for about a year and I found one at my local Bunnings recently (in New Zealand) and snapped it up. It was very battered and floppy but I’ve tidied it up and taken some cuttings which are rooting already. Very happy with that find. Another of our big box stores has just gotten Monstera albos in stock. They’re $500 NZD but still, it’s amazing they’re available there.

I went to HD last week and was so disappointed. I did get a few for obvious reasons but bummed. Got my kid a huge snake plant for his house and he loved it but that’s about as good as it got. 😢

I hate that my favorite plant youtubers are giving Big Box stores "free love". I worked as a grower for Big Box suppliers, and they were horrible to their employees. One of the largest employers of illegal, brown, slave labor, Lacking in skills and training, new growers are unable to identify pests. Support local plant stores, they really need your help now.
