DISTRESS INK HACK: I can’t remember who showed this in a video but… They showed: 1) taking your stamp and inking it with Versamark Embossing ink 2) stamp off on scrap paper 3) ink stamp up with Distress ink/oxide 4) stamping onto your project. It worked amazingly! Solid crisp image! Love your videos ❤😊

Yes! This trick also works with other inks. I use it with the Altenew crisp dye mini cubes, which otherwise tend to be blotchy when stamping, and it makes a huge difference

This technique also works great for silicone stamps or any other stamps that don't pick up inks very well!

Good idea! Do you know if this causes any contamination issues with VersaMark ink getting on the the other ink pads? There is probably a minimal amount of ink left on the stamp so maybe it's not a problem?

Love these cards and wondered if you could just color the top half of the letters so that the colored part is on the white background and the white lower part of the letters is on the colored background.

If you heat emboss the distress oxide ink with clear embossing powder, you may have gotten the depth of color that you wanted.

I believe the distress inks are not developed for precise stamping, but for a distress look. That's why the images are not sharp. Lovely card. Love the green and showing the two options for the same look.

Thanks for the tip Natasha, especially how to use the 'd' as a substitute for the 'p' when spacing the word 'happy' when stamping, and as you say it almost looked identical - I'll certainly be using it. Love the 3D embossing folders and the effect you achieved; I look forward to trying it.

Yes, inspiring! Beautiful and quick cards. Do embossing folders come in different sizes? I don't know if I will ever buy a machine but wonder if they would fit the mini machines. I would also then buy the geometric dies. And maybe alphabet dies. I made a card in a hurry last week. Had a rectangle of pink watercolor chevrons. Stamped 3 pink daisies on it and adhered it to the front with a white border. Stamped Happy Birthday inside .It was just right. You no doubt were the one who inspired that card. Thank you.

I am in love with the half-ombre background idea! Especially with texture from embossing folders 😍 I think I'm going to try making the first card, but ink the letters half way up on opposite sides of the background to help them stand out. So if the bottom of the card is ombre, I'll leave the bottom of the letters white and ink the tops so they stand off the white background. Like, having that crisp background line line up with the center of the letters of that makes sense... Thank you for always providing so many options and making crafters of all budgets and skill levels feel like we can make beautiful cards, too! It helps me cut back a bit on my spending 😊 Thanks for sharing! 💕

When stamping words with distress oxides, stamp them in your MISTI stamp tool, or whatever stamping tool you use. Then if it doesn’t stamp right you can always stamp it again to get the look you’re looking for. 💕

I'm wondering if you use the same ink blender for all kind of inks or if, by contrary, do you have ink blender for pigment inks and another for dye inks even if they have the same color. Not sure if this is allowed but Craftonline in Queensland. Australia has a huge range and possibly postage will be a lot less for you. Love your work Natasha.
