Maybe this is going to sound horrible, but I think it just may need to be a trade off that the trans community may have to accept that in the arena of sports they can't be competitive athletes eventhough they may want to be, unless a seperate category miraculously opens up. Just like how some physical limitations prevent people from becoming a pilot or join the army etc.

As described there is significant advantage in them competing with the category of their birth gender. Rather then banning their participation, have their own category and promote them or have their results aggregated

Hey been a really big fan of the podcasts in your channel, have been looking forward to new videos lately. But may I offer a suggestion? Although it might be a bit of hassle but it would really help audiences like myself, for example when you are sharing a certain image or screenshot of news article, maybe the image could be inserted at the side for the viewers to be able to see the images as well! Keep up the good work nonetheless!

I feel like a lot of this video was Dan trying to get the conversation back on track. A lot of this was random sidetrack about the trans experience, which is fine, but I was hoping for more nuanced discussion regarding trans people in sports.

Some sports events does hyperandrogenism analysis on female athletes, measuring their testosterone levels, and even genetic females could be banned or disqualified from the event even though they're legally and female at birth.

If to be entirely fair and inclusive, just have one free for all category in sports regardless of male, female, trans, abled/non-abled

Agree with Kelly, i don't have tiktok too. that kind of social media has a form of algorithm that hooks & entice one to scroll what's not really relevant, not enforcing a neutral stands, leading one astray from their mindset, then it becomes an unhealthy repetition.

Thanks for the nuanced discussion. It is definitely not fair for trans women to be competing with cis women, as male body structure and muscle density is significantly different to females that offers them much greater strength compared to an average female athlete. Maybe the solution is to create different categories in sports besides male/female. We discriminate in sports but it is not with prejudice. Either way, we should still do our best to recognise trans women in every other context.

Personally just think of it rather simply, disabled doesn’t have a choice while the abled LGBTQ individuals have as much as you identify yourselves otherwise, it’s ultimately a choice for them. Actually on Kimberly point on if male turns female, it’s hates, while otherwise is praise, I had just this opinion of individuals manipulating the system. There are some countries that raises doubts on such, especially for males who honestly will be nobody in that sport, but will be somebody when in the same sport but womens category. Regardless of years of hormones consumption, the duration of your training, your initial physique and biologics will still be far above women regardless, and if many males decides to identify themselves that way, the biological women athletes will never get to see daylight lol. And why the opposite is praise, it’s simple, for eg. 7s in male vs 7s in female, the comparative rarity struck out. If a biological lady turned male, is able to attain said result, it absolute different, she is somebody in female cats but may not be anybody in males cat. It all boils down to benefits imo. What’s the benefits of FtoM vs MtoF, one gains immense competition versus the other who doesn’t, which is why you do see more news reporting the injustice in sports for transgender/sexual simply because most are reaping to their benefit.

It reminds me of the men who competed for Indonesia's women's volleyball team! It was like he smashed every female volleyball player and was voted the "Top Female Volleyball Player" Basically, he had a body deformity that made his male genital look like a female genital. He lived his whole life as a woman until the other team began to suspect him because of his "manly" looks

When you're discussing physical advantage/disadvantage in sports, I think it's important not to mix fight sports with other types of sports in the same conversation. Fight sports involve physical harm, so safety is obviously a factor when trying to determine what rules are 'fair'. However, in a sport like swimming, it's not you against me; it's you against the water, and the question is who's better at beating the water. That's why you don't see weight or height requirements in these sports. Just be good enough, and you can compete with everyone. Of course, we still separate males and females because of biological advantages

Yes they should, according to their assigned gender at birth and not their presume gender at the moment since it can change anytime these days. why? Males do build muscles naturally better and women are generally more flexible based on Biology and no, u do not need to be a biologist to know these facts...
