I never realized how much protection waves of darkness gives vs melee weapons 

If dads used Waves of Darkness instead, we wouldn’t have gankers.

fun fact, butchers knife is the lowest str req weapon that can use waves of darkness. ive found this useful on int builds where i dont need more than 16str for anything but have 20-22 dex for kiba and/or bastard stars. also, you can often maintain some aggression vs waves of darkness by jumping over the waves. the initial slam is also vulnerable to rev qs/bhs.

I love the diversity in builds in the 2v2s, so cool to see everyone using very different setups and playstyles

Im surprised it took you that long to know. Waves of darkness is imo one of the best ash of war for pve and pvp. It helps 1v3 and acts as a get off me attack to reset nuetral and get the advantage. Its great

It’s definitely the best “get of me” AoW, while giving you a chance to heal too. Just drags duels a bit too much.

The best area denial in the game and a lethal follow up attack. What more could you ask for?

it's funny how it's the only good attack the boss you get it from has. (the player versions of nebula are good, of course)

PvP update: I learned how to do the Ravioli! Or whatever it’s called. It’s inconsistent still but it’s way easier to do after an attack animation, so I’ve been trying out some roll catches this way. It’s a weird interaction though when they mash out of hit stun. Did a taunter’s tongue level up playthrough since I’m still a noob at PvP, which gets me a lot of people who know how to PvP decently well but it’s a fairer 1v1 so I only die most of the time instead of all of the time. Decided invading around level 60 is my favorite, a lot of people at leveling their attack stat and not vigor at that point. Question: Is reverse quick stepping for back stabs the same mechanic as ravioli stepping?
