• I ONLY ATE FOOD FROM 7...
ONLY EATING VEGAN FOOD FROM 7 ELEVEN JAPAN FOR A DAY!!!
• I ONLY ATE VEGAN FOOD ...
Hey everyone!!! I absolutely adore convenience stores in Japan - they're an amazing place to pick up cheap and super tasty food, but unfortunately for us Australians, our 7-Eleven is no where near as good as the Japanese 7-Eleven (but I thought i'd give it a try anyway)! Yep, that's right, in todays video i'm eating nothing but food from 7-Eleven for a week (well actually.... 4 days). (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Every day had a different theme, and if you can't stick around for the full 40 minute video, just watch Day 4 for some classic AUSTRALIAN food.

A lot of vegans do not eat honey as a vegan over 28 years I don't think it hurts the bees so I do indulge in Honey occasionally without any regrets or remorse.
@IxVSxU
@IxVSxU 4 года назад
Most cheeses aren't vegetarian though, most cheeses are made by adding a coagulant to the milk called rennet, rennet is harvested from the stomach of cows and goat which means the animal has to be slaughtered which makes the cheese non vegetarian since it uses parts from dead animals. There are some exceptions but most cheeses do contain these enzymes and they are most often harvested from dead calves.

@sagirahakaevilbunny227

I think most of it has to do with ignorance people don't like change so when they think they know something they don't bother to check and see if it's right. But then they get defensive when you tell them that they're wrong The funniest part about all of this though is that the people who are attacking her about that are probably not vegan or vegetarian. When Kpop music started being popular in America everybody and their mama would swear me up and down that they new far more about the culture then I did after 6 months vs. Me and my 15 years of experience with kpop. It would irritate me when people tried to educate me on things like Korean dramas or Korean talk shows especially the people who couldn't tell the difference between K-pop and J-pop or would call a Korean drama a Taiwanese Drama. I'm just sitting there irritated because the only reason they know K-pop exists is because of that dumbass Gundam Style song! I'm over here like really? The song wasn't even that good I know eight to nine different groups with a hundred times better music but all of a sudden they've mastered the art of Korean culture and my 10 to 15 years are irrelevant.

I think cause there is a big discrepancy based on where you live as to what is a vegan or vegetarian. there is certain parts of Europe that being a vegetarian is just not eating red meat. in other parts of the world a vegan and a vegetarian is almost the same thing. here in the USA people define being a vegan as someone who uses no animal products at all. I think it is the same in the UK. Vegetarians use animal products they just don't eat meat.

I ate a vegan chocolate cake once that had been made with soy milk, and I could taste the soy in every bite. Funnily, I can drink a brand of juice here that has soy milk in it, and I don't taste the soy at all, but that's the only thing that doesn't make me sick. ElleTee i guess it gets a little blurry when it comes to food production and ethics - if someone's a vegetarian for animal rights reasons, the egg and dairy industry have so many "byproducts" - ie male baby chickens, baby cows for veal, that are killed as standard practice. so i was a vegetarian for a long time before i realised that to avoid eating meat, doesnt mean you arent still helping produce it, if that makes sense. then vegan food was the only logical option. we give these things labels to make it easier to understand but they're all pretty arbitrary really, it comes down to personal priorities and ethics. edit: i can tell you i was furious when i realised milk eggs and cheese also supported unimaginably cruel industry practices. is any food safe anymore! 🤦‍♀️

yeah sick of the food police, I will not let anybody define my diet but me. We don't know if someone needs to eat dairy or eggs because of their health or not, we can't fault them or say they are not a vegetarian when they actually are for it. I feel like people go way more hard on vegetarians then they go on omnivorous like god give us a break if I ate 30 eggs in a year and no meat then pretty sure I did more for the earth than someone that ate 3 times the amount of eggs and meat 3 times a day. vegan sare so judgy on vegetarians it's so annoying, as if they are so much better than everyone else. Like don't they realise there is no ethical consuption under late capitalism and that the avocados they chomp on all the time exploits people... After 7 years of vegetarianism like I'll be damned if someone says something about what i eat. I'll eat whatever my body will feel like eating without guilt (no meat though that's not going to happen)
@justathumb
@justathumb 4 года назад
Martine Gélinas Martine Gélinas yeah, i think that's why it's so important for everyone to keep an open mind, so we can feel comfortable having conversations about it - especially with something that affects each of us so personally as food. i think it can just be challenging because it's a topic that is fraught with so much emotion. i think it can help when you're feeling judged, to remember that most vegans are only getting upset on behalf of animals, it doesnt come from a personal sense of superiority, i think it's more frustration that they dont know how to handle. most vegans start off as vegetarian, and see them as people who are on the same wavelength! i like to avoid labels for the very reason that im not perfect and i dont want to offend anyone - im like an aspiring vegan haha, definitely in no position to judge anyone. in my honest experience me and most vegans ive ever met are terrified of appearing judgey, it's a bit of a stereotype that unfortunately misrepresents the majority i think!

In France we have something similar to sausage rolls, except it's sausage in a brioche. It's amazing (and not dry at all!!)

The Netherlands and belgium have a equivalent of a sausage roll! (saucijzenbroodje and worstenbroodje) A frikandelbroodje is also similar, and is a staple lunch for high schoolers!

Hi.Most of Australian items are also available in South Africa, I was eating an Aero while watching this you can find multiple flavors here. A crispy sausage roll with tomato sauce is the best.❤

As a vegetarian i can agree with you on the milk and eggs, but i believe not all cheese is vegetarian.
@weenis6697

i think the only non vegetarian cheese is Parmesan but i could be wrong
@Gelime_
@Gelime_ 4 года назад
Parmesan cheese uses rennet, an enzyme that's found in the lining of a goat or calf's stomach. Cheeses like Parmesan, Pecorino Romano, Manchengo, Gruyère, Gorgonzola, and others use it, they aren't technically vegetarian
@alainadacosta1222
@alainadacosta1222 4 года назад
yeah if any cheese product doesn't specify microbial or vegetarian enzymes, it could be made with animal enzymes/rennet (which isn't vegetarian). When I first went veggie I was so surprised bc I thought all cheese was vegetarian.
@SaltySeed
@SaltySeed 4 года назад
Basically any non-fresh cheese uses rennet. Vegetable rennet is cheap and easy to get a hold of though so several brands use it now.

: wow, Australia’s 7/11s are so much more expensive that US 7/11, it seems. Haven’t been in one since I discovered WaWa!

Keep in mind the conversation rate. $1 US is ~$1.50 AUS so it is more expensive but not by much once you consider it

@mimimadd

@Liam P maybe you made a mistake but its currently $1usd to $1.37 aud. And that's pretty good until you buy online and have to pay conversions rates ahahaha Australia also includes GST in the price so what you see is what you pay. I live in the outer suburbs of melbourne, I can pay $2 for a croissant with fillings (ham + cheese or jam) or I could also buy one for $6 it depends where you are buying it and sometimes the reputation. Much like how 7/11 is alot more expensive is usually because it's convenient. And they know they can mark up the price for the sake of not having to travel. Our movie theaters generally have cheap tickets and make all the money from the candy bar.

"Australian classic, melted cheese on vegemite" Fun fact, we do this in the UK too (with Marmite, which my biased self things is slightly less weird-tasting than vegemite)!! It's my faaavourite comfort food. Also Wagon Wheel's are British by origin, but spread through the commonwealth through Burton's Biscuits Not that it matters... just for fun
