Yes, because its a OHV engine. You dont have to remove the camshaft. In an OHV (overhead valve) engine, the camshaft is located in the engine block and not in the cylinder head as in an OHC (overhead camshaft) engine. Just like in the classic American V8 engines such as the Chevy Small-Block.

@@Drive_Dude I have the same engine in my carina , do you think the timing chain might be holding a piston in place at all? I know in a previous video you tried to pull it around from the crank pulley and wondered if it would help without the chain on .

@@andre1450 I don't think it would help. The camshaft is driven by the crankshaft, not the other way around. The only thing that could help is if the camshaft is blocked by something, but that's very unlikely.
