I've watched a bunch of these box openings, but I appreciate your commentary more than anything else. I always go to your spoiler vids because of the insight into the mechanics and potential power of each card, and it's cool to see a bit of that brought to the opening process. Hope to see more!

Windswept Heath and Collected Company were reprinted in the Magic Origins Clash Pack. It had Honored Hierarch and Dromoka, the Eternal as the alt art foil cards.

I really enjoyed this video. The prices, although inflated, made the value of the set really pop in a way that was fun to watch. This will come down, but for the time being enjoy those big values and the fun of cracking collector boosters! Also you're right on the new Koz being the weakest, but I like it because it's the only titan that actually works as a sort of lord to your eldrazi.

Windswept Heath was a 1-of in a precon and is thus more affordable than the rest of the fetches.

Let's assume, for a second, that summed prices are exaggerated, and they will lose 95 % of value. Leaving only 5 % of the price still gives a positive return on each box. IMHO, it is quite impressive, after all.

Opening Polluted Delta has traditionally been a good skill to have.

I'd think Windswept Heath would also be the worst because it doesn't fetch Mystic Sanctuary, doesn't fetch Dwarven Mine, and isn't in black for Bowmasters.

Is there any evidence that the pull rates for mythics/rares are the same for all mythics/rares? Or is it just an assumption that each mythic should appear at the same rate across boxes?

I listened to Mark Rosewater's podcast once when he talked about the design of Future Sight and how they designed Grandeur as a safety valve for drawing too many of your legendary creatures. But the 5 creatures it was printed on were not constructed playable for the most part, and it almost never came up in Limited because they were all rares. I guess the common legend is kind of a reference to that. Since it's a common you can now build around Grandeur in Limited and the mechanic will finally have its moment to shine a little.

I think a lot of the repeats we're seeing have to do with which cards are available in which slot. It really screws up pack opening

With crazy preorder prices I'm guessing the total across 5 boxes will be $3500.

Pattern recognition is real but, yeah, that was a strangely consistent set of boxes. Doesn't necessarily mean anything about the set distribution as a whole but it definitely feels like you 'beat the odds' on this.

never buying anything pre-order, or sealed product in general, its such a rip off...this is all POTENTIAL value too...if you want to convert it back to cash you have to sell every value card

For just about every set, I only play in the prerelease and make no other set purchases. Prerelease pack lets me open 6 packs from the set, which I think is a reasonable limit. That said, this prerelease is going to sting at $60.

Gonna wait for the new Kaalia art to drop and get that since they aren't really the chase cards in this set. Even within the reprint. I just have the cheapest version rn

Only buy multiple boxes from the same case unless u pre open one. Because the cards are almost always similar in most of the boxes. It's not always bad either bought 3 eternal masters boxes from the same case. All three had mana crypt, force of will and Jace.

You know inflation is out of hand when the vexing bauble goes up from $6 to $7 between box 1 and box 2.

Could the tokens of real cards thing be a way of wizards getting around the reserved list in the future? If they printed black lotus tokens I'm sure ppl would use them as proxies even though they are slightly thinner than normal cards

I think the real old border fetches are so expensive. So it gives us access to them at a cheaper price point.

Coming from an addicted packhead from back in the day, I found the best way to open packs, scientifically of course. Pull the back tab gently over and over to inflate the pack with air. While the pack is inflated, gently clap your hands together with the pack in between. It will cause the air to burst out of one of the ends of the pack, allowing you to slide the cards out without any bending or damage. Yes, I was once where you were, and trust me, with a lot of effort and help, you too can be free of this addiction. I was an addict for 10 years, and now I'm not. Good luck to anyone reading this. *continues to open hundreds of packs after writing this PSA message*

I didn't play magic when old border flooded strands and that cycle, and with the current prizes of the old ones in foil.. yeah I really appreciate them doing the new ones. Since I'm a big fan of old border foil.

I’ve noticed this with the latest products that I’ve opened. Wizards is not printing equally all the rares and mythics on the setes, which leads to weird availability issues and the wild preorder fluctuations. There’s something weird about it.
