If I paid 20 stacks for a Pokémon mystery box I’m not acting overly fake surprised I’m actually crying on the inside because I made a poor financial decision

I really regret not holding onto all of my Pokémon cards from when I was a kid. I had a purple binder with the 9 slot plastic sheet holders full of 1st edition, base set, jungle and fossil and some Japanese pocket monster cards as well and I know 100% that I had a 1st edition charizard, I had 3 Zards but I know at least one of them was a 1st edition and I had a bunch of beta and unlimited unopened booster packs that I got for Christmas from my grandparents I asked for Pokémon but they got me magic cards instead and I didn’t even open the packs and it was 8 or 9 packs from multiple sets. If I had that binder it would be worth at least 40k most likely much more. I had the complete 151 original Pokémon and most of them had the duplicates put in the same slot, so most slots had 3-4 cards in each one except for the holos, I traded my holo dupes when jungle and fossil came out to try and complete them. Man who knew they would be worth so much $$$ 25 years later 🤬😭😱🤮. They wouldn’t be graded as 10s cause I played with my cards but they would get 7s and 8s for sure.

Being a kid in the 90's, I wish I knew these things would gather value.. had bloody boxes of them 🤣

People don’t understand with high value items like this are collectors. Collectors know things cost money, and will spend the money to get what they want. This isn’t to save money in no way, in the end of the day you’re still spending money on rare Pokémon merch aka Expensive yes he lost money but he didn’t have to search for all of this and risk running into fakes

A lot of these people keep saying “oh don’t act surprised you spent 20,000$” so that’s like saying “hey I bought you a car but don’t be surprised because I spent a lot of money”

You basically just opened up my childhood. I was about 8 when the 1st editions came out. Now when i watch videos like this, i literally feel sick to my stomach because i gave my whole collection of everything from cards, to games, to consoles, to stuffed animals, to Pokemon toys, i even had the gamecube disc that gives you Jirachi on the gameboy advance, the gold promo metal cards from BK that came in the plastic poke balls… so i literally get nauseous when i see stuff like this. No offense to anyone. It’s definitely a “me” problem.
