Can we talk about my spending so far this month? It has been the polar opposite of February, with me overshooting my goal by 102 %. Thank goodness I always pay myself first!
I received a bonus and booked a short trip to Vancouver Canada. There, I spent a lot on food, excursions, and miscellaneous shopping. I really just needed the pick me up to end Q1 on a good note. Now that it is all out of my system I am ready to focus on starting a strong Q2!
The lesson? Don't over do it. Don't over save or over spend, because you will always end up back at square one. Life and budgeting really takes balance.

If you overspend in one month, where does the money come from to cover it? Is it less to savings for the month or do you pull from prior savings?

Hey good question! I always save money first when I get paid. And at the end of the month there is usually some buffer left in my checkings account. It ranges from $200-$800 every month. That’s where the excess comes from. When I create a budget I don’t assign a job for every dollar, I have a saving goal and then my expenses. The rest is kind of just there 😅.
