Thx! Hektor. I must be a building nerd. I always have wondered what they were putting the silicone on. Does the black paper staples need it too or just the ones on the lath? What type of wood did you make the gate out of

On my ADU and the project i walked silicone was only installed in the staples holding the lath. The staples holding the lath are quite big and will hold tons of weight over time. The staples that were used for the paper were small, however it might be a plus to add silicone to those as well. Its Redwood i bought it at my favorite store, Homedepot $5 each plank a few years back. Now they are $6 each.

How did you insulate the sides of the garage door that have stucco? My framer already installed the sheer walls on the inside and now I can't insulate the sides. I will insulate from the outside on this side but the sides won't get insulted. Is this OK?

Yes If it's in the plans. You could also folding sliding patio doors

Chayanne on my plans it called for a 12" of continuous footings. Always check your approved because it might be different for your situation 👍

Cindy I'm on track to build the ADU on my original budget of $40,000 the garage is a 19x20 380sqff

Cindy I cannot take payment for any advice or consulting related to construction I'm not a license contractor. Only a license contractor can be a consultant, but I can help you out for free if your in The Valley or LA county my number is in the description of the video.

Does code make you remove the garage door and convert to a wall?? If code allows, I would leave the garage door up and build a wall inside the garage door, insulate and finish it.

I think it's ridiculous that you would assume everybody knows what Adu stands for you don't even explain it in your description. You don't even explain it in the first few seconds of the video. Would it have killed you to do that?
