paying 400 dollars for a gmk81 is wild (it took me 2 hours to build my gmk87 and it sounds like heaven my spacebar is deeper than the gmk81) and my total was 53 usd

The keyboard itself was only $130. $100 is fiverr fees, $20 is paypal fees, $150 for shipping. I couldn't do anything about it.

@@rvkeyboards I understand your perspective of the matter but in comparison to the other deals within the video, your's doesn't seem great price wise when not recieving the proper context of the fact that you had to pay many additional fees due to shipping the board across the world. Additonally, from Lewis's previous Fiverr videos, the vendors were strictly near or in East Asia and as such problems with shipping weren't featured or mentioned.

@@powtat_0es93 I am Europe based so I had no other choice. My EU customers get way cheaper prices, Lewis himself acknowledged to me that he initially wanted to explain the fees, but didn't include it in the video.

TBH, a $400 gmk81 is way too wild, like the kit and switches are all cheap and the keycaps set is China nameless. How did it add up?

Hey, I made that! The keyboard itself was only $130. $100 is fiverr fees, $20 is paypal fees, $150 for shipping. I couldn't do anything about it because fiverr takes a lot of money and shipping was expensive because he lives on the other side of the world.

that $400 board is a straight scam. fees aside, it isn't even worth $150 when the rainy75 and nd75 exist for the same price/cheaper

@@rvkeyboards I’m aware of the fees. It’s still a bad price with or without the extra costs. There’s so many better options for ~100 bucks (rainy75, nd75, hi75, al71, I could go on) and paying 4x that for a plastic case and low quality keycaps is not worth it at all. No hate to you or your business, but I really hope nobody spends $400 on your build

1k is i think rediculous the 400 to 500 is still expensive for me, but we are not in the hobby talking about prices. btw sonnet is my daily driver and my only keyboard for now. I thought i might lay low in the hobby so i sold all of my keyboards but few months later i have gb again for mode65 f18xv2 and magnum65

building it is for me as important as using it.. i LOVE , LOVE building boards and years ago i invested all the hardware i need to build and un-build aka desolder boards so i guess i'm all in haha.. having said that i have more hotswap boards then solder boards haha. guess i now have to fix hotswap sockets never had to btw but if the pads are not damaged de-soldering and soldering new hotswap sockets sounds fun..

That 400$ board is a rip off, a GMK 81 costs 50$, the keycaps are 30$, the switches are 20$ and labour shouldnt be over 100$, so it is worth MAX 200$

@rvkeyboards 150$ for shipping? You screwed yourself in that case it's the job of the seller to find reasonable prices for logistics like shipping. Aliexpress gives free shipping on keyboards that ship from China to the US and worldwide too, how do you even mess up enough to pay 150$ in shipping?
