Your girlfriend is a beautiful young woman. Honestly, I thought she looked awesome with the wig on. The light colored hair really made her even more striking!!!! What a wonderful painting. I envy your ability to paint portraits. Dude. all your work is stellar!!!
These are both amazing paintings, I also appreciate that your gf can be completely honest with you on her feelings and thoughts about the painting; these moments help us learn from another’s perspective and feedback, which is important to be open to, especially if the piece is for a client.
Knowing how much time it all takes - painting, filming, editing, it is just so impressive how consistently you upload. Another great video and painting my man!
I am a huge nerd and love costumes and stuff so personally I thought the portrait with the wig was gorgeously rendered and frankly sexy AF. I'm more of a fluid artist myself which requires zero realism, so this type of stuff is super impressive to me. I think both portraits were incredible, but the wig was hands down my favorite.
In the 5 years I have been following you, your portraits have been good. Some of your self portraits being ones I loved the most. BUT, this portrait is the best in terms of not only skin tones, and clean lines. It also is the most exact portrait you’ve ever done! You should be proud. If this is where you are going with your work, you are well underway! I’ve been painting for many years, and still struggle with technique, likeness, and many other things that I can’t seem to grasp, but I keep trying! I love what you do, and love how you have come so far in a short time. ❤❤
I enjoyed seeing you try different lighting during the photo sessions. Your process was very interesting. I gravitated more toward the naturalistic portrait, but I love that you did the high chroma/saturation version. Maybe next time you can try a hybrid where there is just a high croma accent in the hair and/or costuming. For some odd reason, I think of the character Quorra from Tron Legacy as a potential inspiration for that approach. Props to Tori for being a great sport through the process. Oh, and the editing and voiceover work was very good.
I love both of these paintings. I know she does’t like the wig but I think it is absolute FIRE!!! I love the hot pink light highlight on the left side and how the wig highlight looked like a silvery white. I love all high chromas.
hey slew like always i like your paintings what a beautiful painting you did of your girlfriend she is really pretty you drew her lovely you are a talented smart artist always coming up with great art ideas good job i love your art I’m so proud of you i will always support you slew 😊
Both the paintings looks superb.. Even I liked the natural looking portrait more😄 You really have mastered the art of realistic portrait painting. Seen your progress. Great job in this one. One good reason I feel might be because it’s your girlfriend’s portrait 😄😄 haha but truly loved the paintings and yes she is very pretty 💕
I believe she z the best for u . For not deceiving you. She wants the best for u. That why she z honest with her thought. And i hope u love her for bn real. Well done
Aww...you two are adorable. Hi Tori! Gonna be honest, I prefer the natural one. I think it's a better likeness and the hair color works better in close up. That said...the lilac wig with white outfit and background was kinda striking! Might be better in a sort of full-body, cosplay, cyberpunk like portrait.
Her reaction is a bit weird. I thought the painting was really well done, and the wig was a great addition to the painting. You are a surgeon with oil paint. Good for you man.
I liked the purple wig portrait much better than the natural portrait. I hate to be rude - but brown hair is just blah and purple hair is a pop of colour that makes the whole painting pop!!!
Your girlfriend is very pretty! But, I agree with her and like the more realistic portrait better, also. That said, the one in the wig definitely screams "Slew" style to me. Both are great works though!
The lesson here is that when you paint your girlfriend, be sure to use 100% hypoallergenic and edible paints. 🤣 BTW, teaching your wife/girlfriend how to ride a motorcycle or shoot a gun is also a job best left to others. And no, don't ask me how I know...
First, your girlfriend is pretty, so she follows the standard structure of pretty faces, but in your work you didn't follow the pattern that all painters should know about the proportions of a pretty face. You used a grid, and that's why it doesn't look so good. Grids often distort and fail to render images better than the human eye... photography itself cannot do this, and they often distort even the most beautiful face. The picture when painted like this seems synthetic and does not portray the person or the characteristics, much less the beauty. Advice study more about the structure of beautiful faces, start by painting faces of babies/putty, and young people, you will learn to do this without using techniques like grid and other nonsense
