First off, this video gave me PTSD.. Used to work at technical support for a large ISP (won't say which one).. You might laugh at the game being "stuuupid" by asking people if things are on/plugged in, but.. The truth of it is that people really are that stupid. I have, on numerous occasions, had to tell people to plug their computer in, to TURN IT ON, to plug in their screen, to plug in keyboard/mouse, to turn on speakers, and so on (i was on a phone line that you had to pay extra for, so i supported basically everything...) On one occasion, a caller called in and was sure that the computer crashed if he drove high speed trough corners in GTA. Jokingly i replied "so don't drive quickly then". He said "ok, thanks" and hanged up. In short.. people REALLY are this stupid. It is ALWAYS your fault, even when you have evidence it is the customers fault.

Real answer here: Sounds like that last guy's problem is Vram maybe? Couldn't handle a sudden increase in the number of objects/textures it had to display on-screen? That's my guess. The guessing is moot of course. Anyway, even if I could hear well I'd never do tech support or retail. I don't have the patience, and I admittedly tend to get a bit condescending when the person I'm talking to doesn't understand something I think is simple or 'common knowledge', even though I know it's not helpful, it just tends to come out that way. Mad respect to people who can put up with dealing with all that nonsense. I do read Tales from Tech Support and Tales from Retail on reddit. Sometimes you get feel-good stories there too, as well as tales of comeuppance.

@@mohammadnoor8429 That's median, not average. Median is an actual value from the set, that's exactly in the middle of the field. 50% of values are higher than median, 50% are lower than median. Average on the other hand adds all values together and divides by the amount of values. In many cases, especially if you're looking at a very large set of values, average and median are very close together. However, in some cases, average can end up pretty far from median. Examples: Set: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Median: 3 Average: (1+2+3+4+5)/5=15/5=3 Median and average are the same. However... Set: 1, 2, 3, 4, 50 Median: 3 Average: (1+2+3+4+50)/5=60/5=12 Median and average are far apart due an extreme outlier value. Note: Due to the large set you're looking at, in this case your statement is likely to be approximately true.

My mom said a customer complained about a copier not running (Mom and Dad's copier repair business sorta thing). Mom asked if it was plugged in and woman went on a frickin' tirade. When asked where the extension cord was plugged in... ...customer found it was plugged into itself. Woman had the decency to apologize and send flowers, though.

Every single workday as a customer services employee. I work as customer services in a call center and people seem to forget that we are humans at the order side of their phone... They treat us like crap, for this that we can't control, because if we could we will just give everything for free or what the customer wants so they leave us alone and stop calling.

I have worked in a call centre for over 15 years... And this level of stupidity doesn't even come CLOSE to the level of stupidity that real customer get to... So yeah. Totally realistic simulation... but callers were too smart, and too willing to do what you told them to.
