That's b/c of multiple reasons. They were supposed to be texturized not bone straight. Extra shampoo and deep conditioning to prevent dryness and brittelness, moisturizing styling agents, wrapping up with silk scarf especially at bedtime, not using additional harsh chemicals like light coloring, not sleeping on cotton pillow cases, drinking water, taking vitamins and etc. I only do texturize mine every few months. I'm over 40,black and beautiful with full edges! It's possible if done right
@@tuereredivine9821 no actually That is just because everyone’s hair is different and everyone’s hair takes to relaxers different and does different things remember everyone has different textures of hair because my hair doesn’t take to relaxer that way I actually have real dreadlocks so what I do is I use a tiny pressing comb and press out my address because I have very thick hair and I also use a tiny flat iron for ages but I don’t think you should put relax during your edges either to each his own
@@lionessgoddess603 I texturize not relax bone straight. Bone straight is too harsh. And I only do that about 3 or 4 times a year. Bone straight takes all of the elasticity out of the hair. That's what also creates thinness and breakage.
I try to intentionally keep my edges natural bc I feel I’ve been brainwashed to only like slick natural looks. Lol they’ve never been healthier and fuller and some may think they look crazy but it grows out of my head that way so I’m alright with it lol. Your hairstyle was beautiful
I'm natural and I love when my edges curl with just water. I will put edge control anywhere but my edges . lol Never knew some naturals perm their edges. Learn something new everyday!
Idk if anyone has told y’all but perm causes all sorts of brain and organ damage in the long run. Sister I know you like the look but it’s so many other ways to achieve it without potentially harming your body. I say it with love 💕
You could literally tell black women battery acid will make their hair smoother and straighter and they'll use it. They don't care about their health so I dont even bother anymore.
I used to do this and it took my edges out after a while. I also started to sweat profusely from the exactly area I used to put relaxer on, no matter if the rest of my body was actually hot or not, I sweat like Jordan peele from that one skit. No joking.
@@bluehaze6729 maybe because she’s not dumb enough to think all hair is the same . I’ve been perming my edges since highschool, it’s still thick & laid . People have different hair … I’m surprised this needs to be said to adults 😂
We are going to come back to a time in life when black women only concerned themselves with their own look and what they did for themselves. We did what was best for ourself as an individual. If someone liked it cool. If not they kept quiet. We had grace with one another.
@@ti3405 Kinda like how you said "perms are not unhealthy if done correctly" lol, literally the dumbest shit I've heard today, you can not justify that at all. Yea it makes your hair straight, that's about it, no other benefits other than the way it looks and that doesn't mean everything is healthy, it does a lot of internal damage, you know like shit you can't see from just looking, something that literally burns your scalp if you leave it in to long can't in no way be any type of healthy buuut 🤷🏾♀️. That's putting bad chemicals on your scalp to be absorbed into your blood stream. And how you gone say "they lie about anything" maaaybe, just maybe that combination of hair products work for her and your edges just can't hold up to that. Yup, folks just say aaany old thing. Ole "it's just a little bit so it not bad anymore" type folks lol. If you can't do your hair without creamy crack just say that because plenty of women achieve laid edges without perming them first which teeechinally isn't natural anymore. I said what I said.
@@Lyteskinchick25 and we’re talking about it being harmful not what YOU perceive as beneficial for that person or a valid reason YOU see fit for them to get one and I don’t need to justify to someone who’s just intent on not agreeing with what I said what is the dumbest thing ever like you can not like the idea of a relaxer that’s your prerogative but to only believe the misinformation that feeds your false narrative is down right ignorant asf and that’s really all I have to say to the stupid
perming your edges isn’t good for them long term. i used to and it took conditioning and lots of leaving them alone in their natural state to get them back lol they do look gorgeous laid but trust me you could find a product for your edges that will give you the desired effect without the perm. ebin is my personal preference when i wanna lay mine. just my opinion ❤️
Love the outcome. Just so you know your hairline goes thinner first naturally, chemically relaxing your edges is “appealing” and it’ll help them lay longer, but it’s horrible to do. Try a keratin smoothing treatment love ❤️
Like it if you like it, love it if you love it! The humidity out there is so real. Do youboo. I'm sure you already know this but you can baby thecrap outta your edges, doing absolutely the most, care wise, so you can make up for the perm. Maybe use a "healthier" perm, use less, less often, etc etc etc 👏
I’ve been relaxing my edges for decades like twice a yr. They are thicker than Eva!! During the relax weeks I make SURE I KEEP IT MOISTURIZED WITH OSTRICH, , Chebe oil & I spritz rice water DAILY. Thank me later ❤
Let her perm her damn edges in peace! She will be fine. All this talk about thinning and organ damage is scare tactics. Stop shaming black women for doing what they want to their hair!
