I Pitched A 10-Inning Shutout... But This Happened! 

The reason why Trevor is popular in Japan is that he is very humble and does not look down on Japanese baseball, even though he came to Japan after winning the Cy Young Award in the major leagues. And he feels that he is trying to adjust to Japanese baseball and is very kind to team staff, teammates and fans. Japanese people are said to be kind and gentle, but there aren't many players in NPB who provide fan service like Trevor. And finally, many Japanese baseball fans feel that Trevor's dedication to winning in particular is tremendous. We will continue to support Trevor.

The player called Shota in this video is Shota Imanaga, the pitcher who was the starting pitcher in the WBC final. He is one of the best left-handed pitchers in the NPB.

One of the best lessons here is that a guy whose most recent full season of pitching was cy young at the highest level of the sport, then is out of the sport, goes to a completely new environment, struggles early, and figures it out. He shows us its not some gift, its a process. I dont care how dumb it sounds. I will say it again. This is so good for baseball. And whats crazy is so many people are blind to the goodness

Trevor, have you seen a fireworks festival 🎆✨🎇 in Japan? Japanese fireworks are much larger and more beautiful than Western ones. This should be on your bucket list. It's held somewhere during the summer, so you should check it out. I'm sure Rachel will enjoy it too😄

2:00 Trevor, We do in fact use a machine to pack our clay areas. Many teams use it before a home stand, some use it every morning. Depends on how much time we have and what we're trying to get done that day.

You seem really locked in on your pitching mechanics. It seems to make it much easier for you to make any adjustments needed. Love that you were willing to help another player from another team. That speaks a lot to your character.

Kuri is one of the most decorated pitcher in Japanese baseball history every time he held in the mound he win with a Shutout victory and i never forget that kyojin did not score a run in CS 2018 It is very difficult to score runs when he is the pitcher because of his control and use of corners in the strike zone are exceptional, especially his breaking ball pitch and his two seam fastball

This is simply must watch for true baseball fans. I played baseball a long time but I still learn things from Bauer. He lets us right into the fray to see what really happens. It’s a GRIND. Trying to play or prep when you’re sick is the worst. You have to be dedicated to do it instead of stay in bed. Good stuff.

I've never been so invested in Japanese baseball

Trevor seems to be truly genuine. I think this experience of going to Japan was one of the best things that could have happened to him. Going forward, he will only get better as a player and a person. We should all strive to be better- just some actually take the time and effort to do it. Hope all the best to Trevor and will continue to support Trevor in Asia and the US.

Baystars need Trevor more than ever. Team can’t score runs and dropped to fourth place. They were in first at the end of June. Baystars can still make the playoffs but the games that Imanaga, Azuma and Bauer pitch are must wins from now on. If Bauer can pitch on four days of rest, their chances are much better.

The Baystars' offense need to figure it out. The bats have gotten so cold that even Imanaga can't get a winning decision in his starts. If this keeps up they're definitely missing the playoffs.

There's one thing that can be said for all of this, and that is, even though TB has already pitched at the highest level, he learned in Japan, not just about baseball, about behaviour, about Japanese culture, and I'm sure about lots of other things, and you can only improve and become better if you learn things. I love watching Japanese baseball, not just for the atmosphere, but for the respect shown by fans, and the respect shown to the fans by players. I wish the Braves would sign him, but I know they won't. All the best Mr Bauer.

Shutout 10 innings but a draw end. I remember Miura san and Kuroda (NYY) going head to head also ending in a draw. Miura san became a legend and you are inching closer to that every day. Great stuff.

I"ll never forget Rich Hill at the Dodgers pitching a perfect game into the 9th inning, and a no hitter into the 10th inning, all for nothing because the putrid Dodger offense couldn't score one measly run for their guy in 9 innings against multiple pitchers in a bad Pirates team. It still annoys me to this day. When your pitcher is no hitting a team, you find a way to get a fucking run.

When is the last time someone threw 10 innings of shutout ball in the MLB? Love your constant drive to perfect your form. Curious if they have the same kind of pitching coaches over there as they do in MLB and if so how your interactions of style go with them. I have not really seen any coaches in your pitching sessions.

I hope you get to see this Trevor but I want ya know I have been watching your videos a lot lately. I have been implying some techniques to my game and they have helped tremendously. I know softball is way different than baseball but I’ve been having trouble with throws getting away from my teammates playing at short stop. So I took your glove side and throwing my hip forward before letting go. It’s allowing to finally use my legs more into throwing. Feels like speed and accuracy are improving. This wasn’t at the professional level, but I played D3 & one of my homies threw 10 1/3 innings of shutout ball once. Ended up also getting a ND, but team got the win (vulture W from the reliever, we were the home team & walked it off). Bro threw like 150 pitches. One of the craziest things I’ve ever seen in person on a baseball field! Love the content TB, keep it rolling brother! If you ever come back to MLB, would love to see you in Detroit!
