I'm a bit slow to the party, but tier 6 versions of armor are SIGNIFICANTLY better than the tier 5 versions. In many cases, the bonuses are DOUBLED over the tier 6 version. Some of them are soo much fun! I made a tier 6 biker set, used a forgettin elixir to respec into Strength and Agility. Then, used Vitamins, Health Bar, Mega Crush and Fort Bites (with the occasional Grandpa's Moonshine) to sledge hammer my way through a Tier 6 Infested prison (no guns and no explosives). I did use a few first aid kits, but it wasn't that bad. Makes me want to build a melee only horde base! If you put the wood splitter mod on your pick axe, it should handle crates and debris easier. There is a unique vehicle mod for the 4x4 that adds a big honking dozer blade to the front. It lets the 4x4 crush most zombies and obstacles with cobblestone or lower health.
@@redvenge709 yeah ngl I think I still have lv 4 armor lmao but one of the goals for next video is lv 6 armor for sure! Not exactly sure how I will spend the points with the elixir but I think I might way until I have the gyrocopter then I won't have to put any points in grease monkey nor advanced engineering. I really like the idea of going full melee but I might hold off because the next series might be exactly that lol and yeah that is a great idea lol would be perfect if I ever forget my axe again lmao
@@Nilhero Full disclosure, I'm not skilled enough to melee only an entire playthrough on Insane difficulty. I got pretty far into my game, then started messing with the different t6 armor sets, weapons and drugs. Best of luck if you decide to melee only an Insane game.
I really like that you experimented with dart traps - I have never tried them. Curious to see how it works out for you. Enjoying this series and I just want to take some time to say how much I like your editing! The pacing is spot on and makes the videos enjoyable - without the tedious parts bogging down things. Looking forward to watching the rest in the series and keep on including the base building! Its my favorite part of your videos since it gives me great ideas on how to improve my bases
Ty! I never messed with the dart traps until then and I gotta say everyone should try them at least once because they are a lot of fun and they will most likely pop up in future builds! And tysm! I am still trying to figure out the editing format haha but I think it is improving lol? the steel bars in front of the shottys prevents their pathing, gotta put a path or a door in the middle. Jawoodle has a few decent zombie pathing videos that should apply to this version still.
Weight plates can also be used to control dart traps. Weight plates trigger the firing of dart traps. I had seen in a video quite long back. If possible do try it out if it is available in this version.
They sure do! But I was told to avoid those since they can get destroyed pretty quickly by cops exploding and or just zombies hitting them which is why I stuck the trip wire far back where they can't be hit but tysm!
Pathing is always an issue when building on the ground, add the breaks in the wall again in line with the start of the dart traps and consider adding a trench around the outside of the wall (4 blocks deep) to force them to the wall breaks
Yeah see in my mind the pathing was going to work this time haha I figured the path to me was way shorter than the previous horde base and the steel bars was the obvious point of entry to get to me but unfortunately I am rarely correct haha but tysm I have some ideas on how to fix it and if they don't work out today I might work on a trench!
Just a heads up for the future days i think your base will attract maybe a ton of more screamers because of the new parameters for screamer spawns. Before B317 my base attracted roughly 1 screamer every so often but today i literally had a whole screamer horde attack. TLDR. B317 fudged up screamer spawns heavily. Also b317 is the version of update we are on.
@@Nilhero that is very unlucky also from what I've discovered at least for me whenever I get back on my world near my base it spawns a few screamers. I think it may be somewhat inconsistent however more screamers do indeed spawn.
