"We were playing 2v1v1" Im impressed riot was able to translate the true league experience into 2xko. While there is an opponent team, the real enemy is your toxic ass teammate.
It’s cool to see how much feedback they are taking and using, having a team making the game who is already full of fgc members lets them do these things better then any other team. In general I think it’s one of riots biggest strengths and it’s good to see 2xko is no different
Not sure how you would fit his jumpscare theme into a fighting game character. Maybe make him focused on mixup assists? Or maybe focus on the scarecrow clones?
@@Zoth87I mean tecnically they physically hang out together, with all that golden idol and tentacle stuff. What priest can say they not only saw a physical manifestation of their god once, but activly beeing part of their daily life. Id say that quallifies 😂
Pro players like Nemo who play setup/hard characters are insane with figuring combo. How the heck did he even figure that ekko combo on a location test?😂
In League, Illaoi is my favourite character from story and gameplay integration sense, they perfectly captured how she doesn't want to straight up kill you, but get you to quickly choose and move on the spot. And I think 2XKO is also doing a great job making sure she is an absolute terror if you hesitate on defence about fighting back.
My main complaint/takeaway I have from seeing all the content on the game this week is that the VFX are too prominent and all over the screen all the time causing a lot of visual clutter. With that being said, im super excited for it!
Its worth remembering people have said this about literally every new fighting game, just for players to get used to it as they learn the game and it fades into the background. They said this about the hit effects in sf6, t8, ggst, and even a few months later everyone is ok with them
Ekko in this game is everything I could ever ask for in a character and more I can't wait to see more of the character designs of the rest of the league characters. (Zoe waiting room here: population 1 ✊)
a small thing that should be added to the ui imo is having some way of showing the character's colors on screen, either polos affect portraits or do it like old melty where it shows a lil colored square with the number of the color, really helps on the spectator side
I can't seem to find it anymore, but I thought there was a clip of how much damage Sajam took from Darius chip special mechanic? Does anyone have a link or timestamp to this? In the one i'm thinking of it was like 60% lol
I’m ready to see the whole roster tbh. Not asking for the devs to go faster and rush this out the door. It’s just, look so fun and want to get a idea on who all would work well with Illaoi…definitely rocking with her on release. But on the sessions when I’m playing ‘duals’ and my partner prefers Illaoi too, I’d prefer to play someone that helps and benefits from this game’s muscle mommy. So hopefully there’s some solid options for that as more is revealed for the launch roster.
Yo is it just me or does Illaoi in the blue color scheme look like Avatar Korra went straight Future-Trunks Super Saiyan steroid-mode, the one where he gets frickin huge muscles.
@ryanrcosta no no no, Illaoi is *uniquely* miserable to fight. There are many champions I am not fond of fighting in top, but I can count the amount of champs I loathe like illaoi on one hand lmao
hopefully they touch up some of the animations and keyframes/posing. some buttons look way too similar to each other on Ekko and Illaoi. Like how at 19:26, hits 6 and 7 are different attacks, but have nearly identical keyframes during the active frames. Ambiguous animations like this are a nice tool to create mixups when applied intentionally, but there doesn’t seem to be that level of intentionality to the animations in this game. Which is a shame, animation is so important for communicating what’s actually going on in fighting games EDIT: 21:46 hits 2 and 3 in this Ekko combo are another example of what im talking about. the only difference in the posing of these attacks is a slight knee bend. just not very readable. could be better
Re: chip kill, it's definitely hard to do with the game's systems. I definitely prefer being able to chip kill, but only when there's some way of protecting yourself (ie FD, SF6 burnout). I want it to be relevant when youre on a pixel, without being an immediate death sentence. You mentioned reducing chip damage (reminds me of DBFZ) and keeping chip kill, which could make sense, but doesn't necessarily feel great either. Definitely a tough decision with these systems.
They did the smart idea, making this FTP. If this cost money this game would've definitely ended up being the next DNF Duel, so good on the devs for realizing
Saying this game would be like DNF Duel if it wasn't free is crazy LOL. Like you have to try pretty hard to fail to promote a game the way DNF Duel did. But yea, I'm glad it's free to play as well. That would definitely get a lot more people to try it.
Y'know, it's honestly very brave of this team to make this a 2v2 fighting game. I don't know what it is, but it seems like every 2v2 fighting game in the last... 15 years? Has been pretty poorly received. MvCI, Blazblue Cross Tag, Street Fighter x Tekken, hell, Tekken Tag 2 nearly killed the franchise even though the first one was super popular. Kind of weird when you think about it.
Y would they make the lol balance team balance a fighting game? Y would a large company with multiple international studios do that? Why would they even bother hiring fighting game vets as devs then? 4 street cred?
I know nothing of LoL but damn does this game look more and more fun with every event this game is at. It looks so damn fun and I cannot wait to play this. I'llaoi looks so fun. It being a f2p game is also interesting and I think a lot of devs are looking at the development of this game closely. It COULD even change the industry if super successful.
I had huge hopes for this game when I found out about it, but with the innovation of tekken 8's new heat system, and insane graphics. This 2v2 just seems... not worth the wait? I mean I get it, it's gonna be free, and I shouldn't really complain since I'm probably gonna end up playing it. It just seems... lacking in a sense, they spent multiple years developing this, assuring this was gonna be totally different from other fighters, but seems like tekken tag or supersmash bros with league characters, and you just KNOW the micro transactions is gonna be WILD. Idk something with this game just feels off now after watching, maybe it's just me xD
What part of it makes you think about smash bros? Genuinely, as someone who played platform fighters a lot but very little traditional fighters I don't see it at all.
I still think they should again rename it, Project L had some appeal tbh but 2XKO ist just a terrible title, just 0 feelings. Yes i got it its a 2v2 Game where people go KO still not a good name
Illaoi didn't seem like my kinda character, but she seemed cool. Felt like she overstayed her welcome, because literally every video on this game is about Illaoi, but whatever. And then this video came along, and showed some of the bullshit Illaoi can do, and now I already know who I'm gonna hate when I get my hands on this game.
@@BIudot Season Pass. Thought they haven't announce it yet, but if this game is indeed free to play, then it's given that it will have season pass. It's either on-release or a month after release.
@@AntzemEmnzaPaid fighting games are already doing this. SF6 and TK8 already have battle passes, in game shops, overpriced DLC. Modern fighting games may as well have a F2P model, except you have to pay full price. Hell SF6 doesn't even give you more than 2 colors for costume 1, the only way to get more is to wait until they give you Drive Tickets or outright pay. Outfit 2 is free which is nice though
@@edoardocaccia6226 don't be desingenuous. One of them is a tall muscular black woman who looks like she has more testosterone than all the male characters combined. She looks even more like a ts than Marisa from SF6
@@Rivershield She's just an unrealistically muscular woman, just like Braum and Darius are unrealistically muscular men. I really don't see the problem
@@edoardocaccia6226 the problem is masculinized women are a trend now on the West. A disgusting woke trend. She should be unrealistically beautiful instead
Well, it's gameplay footage from the devs and well-known streamers who have gotten to put dozens of hours into the game already. They're not just mashing or relying on spam or fundamentals, they're doing real combos and setups. I think the point of titling this high level is to make it easier to search for interesting early gameplay. It's not just randos button mashing like when game journos get to preview unreleased games and stuff like that.
