i miss new leaf the DRAMA and the MESSINESS that went on in my town was UNMATCHED

What a coincidence! I started this game last week! I'm having lots of fun so far, and even unlocked Club Tortimer! As a black girl, it's a bummer I can't change my skin tone, though.

I got the game in 2013 when I was 8 and had no idea how to “properly” play so you basically achieved more in a few days than I did in YEARS😭

As a black girl that has played every single animal crossing game in the series, I cannot tell you how relieved I was when new horizons came out, and I could finally be my true self. But I’m also sad because new leaf was such an amazing game. 😂

I played new leaf for the first time on an emulator about a month ago and I’m absolutely in love with it, but I can’t believe it took until the year 2020 for different skin tones to be added to the animal crossing world. 😭

recently sold my 9-year-old NL town to Tom Nook for 55mil and reset. I've been having so much fun getting back into NL, although it is a bit slow when you're waiting for that Nookingtons upgrade

i love new leaf with all my heart but my god i can never go back to not picking your skin tone and only 20 inventory slots

This made me so nostalgic I love all the nuances to this game like the emblems on the tree stumps, the good luck and bad luck mechanics, the mini games on the islands, the grinding for bugs on the island, the random villagers and the police station and Brewster and all the special items like king tuts head and the Halloween event stuff like it’s so much more interactive to me bc I think majority of these features were removed since we can decorate outside in new horizons. This makes me want to start up new leaf again and see what my villagers are up to after like 6 years 😭

I love New Leaf - it’s the one I’m playing the most at the moment. There are tons of people still playing which is awesome!

I used to play new leaf non stop with no problems but feel like I’ve been spoiled by new horizons. I tried to play new leaf again and all I could do was compare how little there was to do compared to the newest game, things like not being able to put items outside, not getting to pick my villagers or having so little pocket space and customisation made it so hard for me to enjoy the game again, I still love it though, new leaf will always be an important part of my childhood

I actually hate that about ACNH. My villagers will give me a gift to give to another and sometimes they stop me right there at the villager’s house or at least very close. I’m like “dude their house is literally right there you do it”

New Leaf was my favorite game in college, I played it for hours, and I had literally no idea that Isabelle would give you so many things 😭😭 I wish I gave her the seashell!!

There was nothing better than stocking up on sharks and beetles, changing the ordinance to MEGA BELLS and cashing in on the big moneys! I suppose u can do that with nh, but its missing the same flair i think.

I'm glad you're giving New Leaf some love since the servers are shutting down in April! People should try it now when they have the chance. 🤧 NL isn't my favourite, (Wild World ftw,) but it's definitively the most complete, fleshed out AC experience. There's SO much to do I that still haven't finished the game after two years!

I REALLY enjoyed seeing the gameplay! I never played it but it's definitely understandable how some players prefer it over New Horizons.

01:15 I never thought of the Villagers as children. Because they are residents with neighbors they always felt like adults to me. Unless you meant the players at the time of release, because yes lots of players are kids XD

I like New Horizons, but New Leaf will forever be my favourite game of this series. It was my first Animal Crossing game and I started playing it in 2013/14. I remember staying up till late in the evening to head over to the island to catch some rare bugs and make infinite money with it lmao. When I was at my friend's house, we often played together and even at sleepovers we decided to stay up until 10pm, so we can catch rare bugs together. So yeah... nostalgia is a reason why I still love this game so much and why it's my favourite AC, but in 2018 my dumb ass decided to delete their town to start over.... I still want to kick my ass for this. I had nice villagers, I had almost every shop unlocked, I had the police station unlocked, I had many rare items, I had a lot of money and argh. I also have caught many bugs etc., I also had many Street Pass houses. Now they are gone. Everything is gone, because I was stupid- It's not the same anymore; but it still is fun tho. But I still regret it.

Ive been playing New Leaf since 2013, I stopped playing in 2020 when I got my Switch. But recently I’ve decided to restart my New Leaf town 🥰 I love New Horizons but I still can’t help but feel that New Leaf was a little better 😢

the excitement on my face when i got the notification, ive been waiting for the new leaf gameplay

ACNH was my first Animal Crossing and after I played it for around 300 hours, I understood that I can't play it anymore - I hated that it was centered around designing, hated that the villagers were exactly the same. By that time, I started to think about buying a 3ds. And then I got it! Bought an old 3ds xl and obviously, New Leaf was my first download. 10 months later - still going! I play almost everyday, for the first time ever I have a town I'm pleased with (i still have to do one part of my town, but otherwise it's completed), i have 200 hours of playtime. I stopped playing New Horizons completely (even sold the cartridge) and New Leaf has clearly become my favorite in the series. Love that you're playing it now!

I remember playing this when I was about 7 or 8 and I was so clueless. All I knew to do was get a house and then try to get some cool clothes and I never progressed 😭😭. I never knew the game of the name and seeing the game again is major nostalgia for me.

I’m so mad at myself because when I was like 16 I rage reset out of heartbreak 💔 Kyle my closest villager my good time boy, MOVED AWAY WHEN I WENT ON AN OVERNIGHT FIELD TRIP 😢 and DIVA moved in saying “omg I love the town thanks for having me 😘” I miss that town. That was day one game release town. I regret it to this day.
