The _only_ midnight release I've ever been to was Skyrim's. Me and three of my buddies went to the local Play N Trade, all high af, and one of my friends proceeded to lead the entire store in singing Queen songs. After we got our copies, we all went back to my friend's apartment where we'd all brought over our 360s and TVs and lined them up in a row so we could play the game together. After a while one of my friends starts freaking out and laughing his ass off pointing to his TV. He'd stumbled across a giant camp near Whiterun and a giant had launched him into orbit. The rest of us immediately ran off toward that giant camp to try to replicate his experience. Good times.
@@magiic2119of course they did. These soulless husks didn't have those same experiences we did growing up, as they don't have friends. They wallow alone in their misery and spread it to others, denying anyone's lived experiences because they themselves lack them. You know the reddit meme, nothing ever happens. That's these people, they cannot fathom anybody has different lives than them. Or, it could just be a baiting troll posting it for attention. Similar story, lack of social interaction, so they seek it through social media usage. It's what most people do anyway, they don't interact with people face to face, so they fill that by posting things that drive engagement. I don't know, I just can't stand the internet anymore, and how people communicate like actual regards.
It always seems like people forget a time when games came with manuals that explained the mechanics and controls of a game. People always just call the games "Difficult and obtuse" when in reality they simply don't have all of the media necessary.
That's true but some games manuals were whole ass dictionary's too lol (in regards to PC games anyways). They really wanted things to be more of an immersive experience or they were really complex depending on the game
@@unusualsuspect980 some of my best memories are sitting in the backseat of the car, popping open the case of my new game, and flipping thru the manual while my parents drove us home from the mall. It really sucks that kids don’t get to have that kind of experience anymore.
Lol how did you not notice that you were crouched the entire time in Daggerfall? Just sitting there like "Damn. They made the Argonians short as fuck in this one" 🤦♂️🤣
Correction. Back in 1994, USUALLY you’d get what’s called A Player’s Guide in whatever container the game comes in. This taught you the mechanics, keybinds, etc.
@@rocketbillyyou mean the ones they used to give with Baldur's Gate and what not? God I loved those. They were like one to two inches thick and chock-full of information.
@@NinjaSushi2 Nah, once upon a time, some OS installation kits came with like, multiple part sets of books for each aspect, sometimes including stuff for coding, depending on the decade really. LGR has at least one video showing that off, iirc. Those video game manuals were the best, though!
I really appreciate your positive spin on all of the games, most commentary on Bethesda games (particularly Skyrim) tend to focus on the negatives. But, your review focus on the good the elder scrolls games have done and that’s great 👍
i think the community is overly negative in general. its why even if ES6 is great, but not perfect, people will still hate it. cause its what a lot of BGS fans do.
@@GoalOrientedLiftingyep. It really annoys me how a lot of Bethesda fans seem to just hyper fixate on the one game they like and treat all others like garbage. I like skyrim, but I still really enjoy Oblivion, and even though it's not really my cup of tea, I can see why people love Morrowind.
@@GoalOrientedLifting There's nothing wrong with being critical of a game released by one of the biggest studios around, especially when it's subpar to games made by much smaller studios. They used to be known for pushing what people thought was possible with games, now it's just meh. And theyve fallen behind, only seemingly caring about money. I LOVE the ES games, if they put the amount of LOVE they put into Morrowind into ES6 it will be incredible.
Clearly there are a couple spots where I overlapped the editing. I’ve been creating this while moving out of our apartment in WV to FL. Barely slept lol
I was a gamestop employee during the release of Skyrim and worked the midnight release. It didnt matter what genre any of the regulars of the store played, they all showed up together for the same game and it was such an unforgettable night. Im forever grateful to have experienced such a special time in gaming.
@@Player2Gaming Have to say, though, that's my primary gripe with the video. Everything else seems pretty good (style- and personality-wise, I mean. Don't have a big opinion on Elder Scrolls at all), but I don't have a good reaction to semi-informative videos where the youtuber isn't putting in a "reasonable" amount of research that would barely take more than a few minutes. It really doesn't make it seem like your video has much relevant information, since your investigative approach appears to be lackluster or at least spotty. It's still entertaining to watch, but might not be in-depths enough to keep the part of the potential audience around that shares my observation/opinion. That's still just my opinion, though.
Did I watch this Video All the way through? Yes. Is it 3am? also, Yes. Would my wife be pissed that I watched a dude talk about elder scrolls for over half an hour at 3am? Well, Yes, but she loves the series as well, so I think that's a wash. Keep it up P2, may the algorithm be ever in your favor.
Try spending 3 weeks straight ONLY playing every elder scrolls game and ONLY talking about Elder Scrolls every day with her 🤣 But for real. I need to get my wife into it. The fallout show blessed me with getting her into Fallout (She’s playing through 4 right now) But it would be great to get her to try the Skyrim VR. It’s such a blast
Bro I'm a fanatic of the series I've also played and completed every one. This is the only video I've seen where someone has actually played EVERY elder scrolls game and not just 1-5. Congrats man keep it up
@tuliobraz1590 It would be out of Arena, Battlespire or Shadowkey. Arena has a cosy classical rpg feel to it and beautiful soundtrack. Battlespire and Shadowkey have strange lore which I found quite interesting, and of course until I played it I thought Oblivion and Online were the only times mehrunes dagon tried to invade
Hey man based on your comments here this is your first crack at this type of video. I watch a lot of video essays and this is *phenomenal* being your first one. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Keep it up! Can't wait for the next one!
I think where I want to be is somewhere in the middle of a video essay and each titles raw gameplay experience. You’re coming in at an interesting time for me. Fallout video is almost done and will be posted on Sunday 👌 Glad to have you with us
My favorite thing about Oblivion is that the Emperor is the same Emperor in the beginning of Daggerfall AND the guy that was holding the torch in that Daggerfall cutscene? He's the High Chancellor that proclaims you Champion of Cyrodiil at the end of the main quest.
I hope that TES6 is set relatively shortly after Skyrim... honestly they kind of have to. Between having dragons return, setting up a civil war that could be a turning point in the "peace" between the Thalmor and the Empire, the potential assassination of an emperor (if they decide to make the Dark Brotherhood questline canon); there's a lot of events that take place in Skyrim that will have both long-lasting and immediate consequences for Tamriel. But mostly I REALLY wanna see Parthurnax/other dragons return as characters, hope they don't pull some shit like "The Last Dragonborn killed all the dragons then died rip lmao."
He's also the same emperor from morrowind since oblivion only happens like seven years after :) super cool but opens the funniest possibility of a nerevarine hero of kvatch who was randomly put in prison twice by the emperor LMFAO
I have to say that Skyrim VR is one of the best games I've ever played, the standard version is great too, but VR takes it to new heights. ESO, on the other hand, is my favorite MMO. Great Video !
Vanilla skyrim VR is. It's great for sight seeing but i don't believe it's a good vr experience outside of that at all. That being said, i could see modded skyrim vr being one of the best VR experiences out there, especially considering how lacking AAA games are in the vr market.
My mother's boyfriend introduced me to Morrowind when I was a wee lad and he'd always play it after work and I would watch. There was one day I found out you could use the alchemist tools to make your own potions and showed him the potion I made called, "fart in a bottle." The friends he had over and himself all freaked out because they didn't know you could make potions in the game. It made me fall in love with the series so much for after that moment
Your positivity about bethesda is really refreshing mate, everything you say is true, especially about the characters who live rent free in your head. I often think about Miraak and what a cool antagonist they made.
I also remember 111111 like it was yesterday. Junior or senior year of hs. i convinced my parents to let me stay home and get me the game as a birthday present and let me stay home for the day, so i was ahead of everyone else by the time they got home. it was magical.
@@Timbo360 nah bro, never going to school was a blessing bro. make my living off gaming, content creation, blogging & it's the dream. School ain't necessary for nobody
about Morrowind being half Skyrim, this is a myth, both games use different scales, Skyrim has a bit bigger map but the playable area is a bit smaller because most of the regions are mountains. The Skywind team confirmed this some time ago, the playable area of Morrowind is much bigger and dense. Just to have an idea, the Project Tamriel team (they are making the whole Tamriel in Morrowind engine) has a tiny part of Skyrim (province) done in their map (Morrowind using Morrowind Scaale), but when compared with the Skyrim (game) map, it is 1/3 of the total size.
There are little ledges in the tutorial dungeon in Arena you can sleep on. When you get to the end it asks you a question you have to get from the manual in order to leave. Fuck I'm old.
That never seemed to work for me. I'd rest 0 hours and then a rat would crawl into the gap to kill me (sometimes not even a rat but just a straight up human rogue or spellsword that spontaneously appeared)
@@Ryu1ify I believe there is a stat that has an impact on the successfulness of your ability to sleep unmolested. But yeah lol it still is pretty hardcore.
this is a really good video! i was 6 when skyrim came out and physical copies of games aren’t a big thing anymore but i wish i got to experience 11/11/11
My mom bought me and my two brothers Skyrim Christmas 2011, when we opened it she said “you guys are gonna play it for a month and then forget about it.” It’s been 13 years and we’re all still playing skyrim - we played that 360 copy for a good 7 years before buying a new gen copy. If it had been any other game she would have been correct, but Skyrim was just different like that
I remember first time I played this was my best friends house in 5th grade. Didn’t even know there was a story we literally walked around, killed thing, and got arrested. I came back to it freshman year of high school and actually played it and it is my favourite game of all time
My dad used to be a huge gamer. I remember he ordered the collectors edition with the little statue of Alduin, and the absolutely massive guide book and the map. He only played it at his office so I didn’t get to play it until a year after it released when he finally gave it to me after 100%ing it. Me and my brother taped the map to the wall beside the TV, we used the guide book when we got stuck. I played as an Argonian first for some reason because I thought there would be way more water. Good times
I would recommend putting chapters for each game in your video! I heard that videos like these do better with chapters for viewers to easily toggle through the video sections!
William Montgomery in elder scrolls arena is the collab i didnt know i needed 😂 i need him to play the chat gpt mod in skyrim and just cus everyone out lmao
i think a big part of skyrim's legacy was the fulfilled hype. you could've went to anyone on your friends list 3 days after launch and they weren't only playing the hot new game- they were 30 hours in. missed work, skipped school, cancelled plans. everyone was trying to explore as much as possible as fast as possible, comparing skills, and armor finds, and discusing whacky little side quests no one else has found yet. i have so few titles in mind where the hype actually delivered. For me skate 2, skyrim, red dead 1, gta 5, battlefield bad company 2 are the some of the only games i can think of where they were as good or better than the prelaunch hype. all those games had a pretty big impact on gaming.
My wife (then fiancée) and best friend were making fun of me when I was hyping Skyrim. We got the game at midnight and I started playing the game…..let’s just say my wife finished the game before me.
this is actually really good, i can tell you are putting real effort in all aspects of this video. just keep working hard brother like, you're not mad annoying and again the work ethic is insane, obviously you have a huge career ahead of you just never stop perfecting your work and getting lazy is too easy to not fall into, purely insane and rare nowadays. not gazing but i just don't see it anymore. you got my sub so keep the heart gold so burning out isn't a thing, maximum love.
3DFX wasn't the wrong horse, it was THE horse. nVidia, ATi (which was later bought out by AMD), Matrox, Rendition Verite, they all trailed behind. All games supported 3DFX because it was the fastest and most feature rich. Many 3D technologies like anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering were first commercially available on 3DFX. D3D could only catch up with 3DFX with DX7, which was released in 1999. Buying out 3DFX lead to nVidia's tech leader position today. nVidia didn't put 3DFX out of business with their superior cards, 3DFX committed suicide and lost its leading position in the industry. Check. Your. Facts.
Yep 3dfx was huge for PC at the time, atleast if you invested in a GPU (they were in no way required for most games back then). It was a wild time for the platform, there were no standards, manufacturers were throwing technology at the wall to see what sticks. Nobody knew what was going to come out on top.
My first thought. Many games were not purposely obtuse and vague. It was mainly that a bunch of game devs said "hey, I wrote you instructions and put them in the box, how is this so hard?"
It's always shocking to me that Bethesda released Battlespire and Redguard and survived, somehow. It's a shame because that was peak Weird Fantasy Elder Scrolls, I want my voidstations and carribean Hammerfell back.
Battlespire was SOO weird. The concept is like a space station or something in the realm of oblivion. The voice acting was creepy and didn’t give af. Even Multiplayer deathmatch mode was included. Then of course there was full blown nudity. That all had to be pretty nuts in 1997
I remember being 14 years old when Skyrim release happened. I wasn't able to wait for the release and multiple stores already sold out there copies. But I remember asking my dad if he could buy me a copy at the Canadian version of Walmart (Superstore). to my and my dads surprise, the clerk told him that everybody was buying the game at the local game stores that they never bothered checking the grocery store. needless to say, I spent 12 hours straight until one thieves guild quest glitched, not allowing me to progress 😂
morhau is much cleaner, chiv 2 is way too janky. prob wont happen due to animation problems. as of what I remember, animations and physics that are complicated reqire external software to get it to run which sometimes doesn't work well with other mods. it would have to be worked hard on to get it to run, but anything is posible
I appreciate RU-vid for showing me this channel, you just gained a sub my man, now i will proceed to watch all of your videos, btw, i'm playing Skyrim for the first time now, just bought the Legendary Edition (My friends told me it was better than Anniversary, they said it was more "vanilla") right now i'm like 40% through it, i'm trying to see EVERYTHING the game has to offer, and i'm loving it so far, no wonder is so loved by everyone lol
@@skyriminspace It's awesome man, I'm taking it slow, I completed the Thieves Guild, my character has Two Handed, Archery, Sneak, Lockpicking, Smithing and Speech, almost maxed out (Between 70 and 90 almost all of them), No magic because.... @@antobenilol first time i played i was a dark elf because they looked badass & fire resistance seemed smart in a game where you knew there'd be dragons. I just messed about & levelled up randomly with no specific build or objective in mind. That was until i visited Windhelm & saw the racism at the heart of Skyrim. It wasn't long until i stood amidst the burning wreckage of that city. Second best memory of that game after one hitting a mammoth with a dagger. Lol
Definitely took a lot of work. But it didn’t really feel like it because I was already a big fan of the series so I was learning lots of new things about games I’d played for years. Most fun I’ve had on a project
What do you mean no one had it?! If you were a PC gamer in the 90s, you definitely heard of the VooDoo 2 graphics card. That was THE top of the line 3D graphics card when it came out. Everyone wanted one.
@@xtranathor8143it was a much smaller group of players and usually PC gamers (aside from kids) were trying to get their hands on a good graphics or sound card because alot of the good games needed them. Some games could be played without them although it was usually in different graphics modes and of course, extra slow and laggy. It was pretty whack sometimes lol
@@animeloveer97 thanks for the insight. I just played on whatever we had when I was younger (Windows 95), so I never had a clue about the community, market or technology at the time.
Something in the gaming community that bothers me is the push for branching stories with multiple endings in every game. Don't get me wrong I love making those choices in the right game but what I really loved about BGS games (and Morrowind in particular) is the player agency on how to play the game more than what happens. Rather than play through and be given a choice on the destination, BGS games gave the freedom to get to the same end in multiple ways. When you're rescuing that Milo chick from the prison, me and my 2 brothers all did it differently and therefore all had a different experience to talk about. 1 cut a bloody swath through at a high level. Another carefully sneaked in and teleported out. I personally just ran as fast as possible, dodged the swings, chugged health potions and abused enemy pathing bugs. I miss that freedom to game the system in a way that still feels fun
I have a really short attention span and never really watch long videos but this one was great and you really put it up great, thanks for a really fun and informative small doc on my favorite game series.
I just got recommended your video and after seeing your editing, I thought your channel would be way bigger. Crazy to see that this is your first video of this type. Great one!
First but definitely not the last. I’d never used a green screen till now or made something that was this in depth. I plan to go further in the next video and get better. Thanks for commenting Incita !
I don't normally have the patience to go through an entire video like this, but you got me hooked, I instantly subbed. The pacing and editing is just right and I would watch any playthrough or revisiting series similar to this you create. Keep it up my good sir!
I'm currently playing Skyrim on my ps4, first time playing it in 11 years give or take. and I was jus listening to this video while reliving one of the games I played as a kid. I really enjoyed this video and it's the first I've seen of you and honestly, I can't wait to watch more.
This video was awesome! Not overblown with too many details, but you went through each game just long enough so we get the gist and overall feel. Growing up, I was super into Japanese games, and oblivion was the first open world RPG I played because I received it for free with my Xbox 360. I was completely blown away by that game, and it shifted my taste towards favoring western/open world/crpgs. I spent an entire summer vacation fully completing that game and the amazing DLC’s. It was nice being young, free and devoid of any responsibility… Good times 😂
Love Elder Scrolls games. Its a shame Jeremy Soule isnt coming back to compose the score for VI, theres some me too shenanigans going on with him. The score for Skyrim is part of what makes it so good imo.
CANT WAIT TO WATCH. Just had to comment. Really appreciate all the effort you put into your videos. Caught you on stream playing the cycle. Really loved all the videos and keep doing what you like doing. We don't watch bc of what you play its who you are bro. Fuck em and be you.

@@Player2Gaming niiice! I've been playing all the games for the first time. So I'm gonna love watching it. Also, your daughter is just adorable bro. Keep rocking.
The plan was for Morrowind to include the entire province, but Bethesda would have been broke and out of business by the time they would have been able to finish it, so they limited it to the central island of Vvardenfell. Modders on the Tamriel Rebuilt project have been gradually creating and releasing the rest of the province for as long as the game has been out, with the most recent update at the end of December.
Man this video was nice. Honestly i always have times where i just forget about bethesda but then some video always gets me back and then for a while i just think about bethesda games (mostly elder scrolls) for a while , but anyways its so cool seeing you sitting in that dungeon. Nice video!
These documentaries are great. I subscribed because of the DMZ coverage (very disappointed they didn't just commit to it), and I'm glad you're jumping into other games. Recently got hooked on ESO and started looking into lore and such, glad to see these documentaries on the actual games. Keep it up man!
I think the AI chat is a cool idea and works for VR, but I don’t really wanna be talking into a microphone/ typing on a consul while playing a single player RPG. Plus I would prefer my games have voice actors, not AI. Personally.
I have a mod to make chickens fat but the mesh doesn't come together in the rear end so they all have chickenussies. I have a sound mod that changes almost every sound, my favorite being that when you pick up a coin purse, a deep male voice "damn son where'd you find that" and a mod that let's you cuss out Grelod and Lemkil until they drop dead. It just works
I know im a bit late but i have to say, I won't lie to you man I found your channel like a month ago and after watching 1 decided to check the past videos and was disappointed that all the others were the same idea, so when this finally showed up in my feed and you said you'll be making different videos/more like this i got really excited, subbed! hope to see more in the future this is great
My plan for Zelda would be to complete all of the video and play all the games throughout September then playing the echoes of wisdom on the 26th when it releases and then dropping the whole video right after. But for now I’m fully invested in Fallout.
god i wish people would try to actually learn how to play eso. theres so much to experience in the game especially as a lore nerd that you only get access to through playing at a higher level. i really want to encourage people to look past the shallow early game writing and focus on the intricate combat and class system really learning to take advantage of arguably the best combat system in and elder scrolls game. the writing improves drastically once you get past the beginner content which largely you dont really have to do or only have to sorta do depending on if you make friends and join a guild you may be able to skip right to the more interesting story lines. learning to really play the game and doing the dungeons and trials will also give you way more insight to the lore of the world. you can get competitive and go for veteran leaderboard runs when youre good enough and theres solo, 4 man, and 12 man trials/arenas that are for the most part very fun and well designed. i really recommend giving eso and honest play through and making friend will make the end game far far easier than trying to do everything with random people. theres tons of content creators that make build guides and dps guides for those who want to take the game more serious. i highly recommend my friend skinny cheeks for any eso pve advice hes amazing.
daggerfalls a doozy eh? ever notice after morrowind that they steadily stripped features from the games? also: Arena was made because bethesda mostly did sports games before that and they were picked on for it, so out of spite they made Arena (the same RPG genre as their haters) to show em up
I started with Daggerfall. Did you know they actually released a freakin DEMO of Daggerfall? It was mindblowing and it also filled my poor lil 514MB hard drive on my old Pentium 75. I have played every entry since then, but have only completed Oblivion on the 360 (cuz I couldn't get tangled up in mods). I started Skyrim in 2012 and still have my save. A level 59 kajiit named Fleabait. I thought I would play an unarmed build, but fell into the standard stealth/mage/archer. Oh well. I just thought I'd share. It was great seeing someone (younger than me) go through the series. I still wish they would bring back the climbing skill and levitation. It was cool being able to climb walls (once the skill leveled up sufficiently). Cheers, Sir! A good video that earned you another subscriber!
Ohh yeah the moment skyrim about to release was legendary moments a literally Biggest Gaming Culture that is can be enjoy by everyone at all ages even elderly woman playing skyrim hope Elder Scrolls VI would be as spectacular as Skyrim was. But do not over hyped.
Morrowind is the best, yes the start is hard but rewarding and the dice and roll system can be annoying but there are a tons of guides on the internet so it wasn’t a problem for me. I just played through using OpenMW, it was recommended for me. After a lots of Skyrim Morrowind was refreshing and I would not call Skyrim an RPG after Morrowind. The graphics isn’t aged well but the environment is just SO diverse. Swampy to Desert like Vulcanic places to Skyrim like snowy north, mushroom houses and huge mushroom trees. And I appreciate that you can really do anything you want like killing a main character not a problem, you get a message that the world is doomed and you can continue to play. And choosing a faction is more fun, in one play through you can’t be the head of the Thief’s Guild, Fighter’s Guild and Mage’s Guild or join to Cammona Tong for example, everything based on skills and choices and I’m a big RPG nerd. There is a very smart fast travel system, unique items and it was really great experience after Skyrim and especially Oblivion I didn’t like that game. Next time Daggerfall for me.
iirc "The Elder Scrolls Legend" was a series planned for specific events or timeframes etc, whereas "The Elder Scrolls Adventures" was a series for Action Adventure games (that's why it's in the name...) without any RPG elements, focussed on a special character within the lore or a "tale" basically. I have to say that Redguard was one of my favorite games in the whole series, because of the well written story and the awesome adventure quest that actually felt like a treasure hunt with lillandrils flakon and the whole story around that. I mean, technical issues aside... people often forget that Redguard is the playable groundwork for almost all of the TES lore. Khajiit weren't catfolk before, accents and different racial traits etc were introduced there and of course the whole story around dragons and the amulet of kings. This is basically the groundwork for future titles. Sadly the dragon lore was basically killed in Skyrim (I mean... lore-wise Skyrim ruined everything due to its horrible writing/dialogues), whereas the daedric artifacts and the amulet of kings were made worthless in Oblivion already (who gives the f*ing Amulet of Kings to a retired blade who puts it into a f*ing wooden crate protected by a wooden door... which weren't even locked?!). Sure Redguard was a flop, but TES wouldn't be the same without it.
So I was really on a time crunch trying to finish this video before my move. I literally moved the day after I edited everything and posted it (don’t know how I did it all tbh) Point is, i didn’t really get the chance to finish each of these games. I think I really need to go back and finish Redguard. When doing my research I watched an interview where Todd Howard basically said he still stands by that game as being great to this day. The scope was just smaller than what their audience wanted.
@@Player2Gaming Yes I've read that, too. They marketed these Spin-Off titles quite bad. I think nobody really understood that the "Adventures" series was intended for Action Adventure games etc. I think most people just assumed "The Elder Scrolls? Ok, it's another RPG" :D. Which is fair obviously, people nowadays think of Skyrim instead of "The Elder Scrolls" whereas even some people don't know that there were games before Skyrim :D. But yeah, I'd recommend playing it, maybe watching a playthrough somewhere. And don't hesitate to pick up a guide if you're stuck somewhere. Since the controls are quite clunky, certain quests might be hard to solve, due to lack of feedback for some actions etc. As a tip: The drunken dudes in the Draggin Tail are meant to be training dummies, you can practice fighting with them :) the combat system seems simple and straight forward, but it isn't (doesn't mean that it's good though... clunky controls again haha). Oh and take a look at the Easter Eggs page in the UESP wiki, if you're into that stuff :). Some funny references and insights. And gratz for you new apartment/house :)! I hope the move went well and you're happy with your new home :D
Arena is much larger. The difference is you have to fast travel to each province and then can only walk around that province in Arena. In Daggerfall you can literally walk from the edge of Hammerfell to High Rock on foot without fast traveling
I'm certainly surprised to find out that Arena truly has a far bigger game world than Daggerfall. Problem is, Arena's world is supposed to be navigated solely by fast travel, since no one has ever been able to freely walk from one location to the next, due to the insane scale and absence of any help in orientation, when just walking. That means the huge map becomes pretty useless. TBF, though, the same was basically true for Daggerfall, before the Unity version removed the fog. It wasn't impossible to reach locations on foot, but there was a great chance you'd walk past your desired target location repeatedly, with the extremely limited range of vision in the original.
It’s not the scale. The world is not “physically” big. The towns are their own locations with infinitely generating terrain on all sides. No matter how long you travel in whatever direction, you will still technically be in the town you traveled to. Therefore yes, Daggerfall is bigger as you can actually walk from one place to another.
