I played Howls Moving Castle at my school talent show

My performance of Merry-Go-Round of Life from Howls Moving Castle arranged by Joe Hisaishi at Chapel Hill High School.
For the arrangement I used, I took two separate arrangements and intertwined them--the coda was from the "Ghibli Best Stories Piano Book" while (most of) the rest was from this arrangement: • 【楽譜あり】人生のメリーゴーランド/久石譲(... . Give them support! very well scored
learning Merry Go Round of Life on the piano took approx. 2-3 months, with about 1-1½ hours of practice a day. I started taking piano lessons around the age of 7-12 years old, stopped playing, and then picked it up about a year ago at 16 years old.
My guess as to what abrsm grade this piece is; around grade 7.
This piece has very deep meaning towards me and I decided to share with an audience to reveal my passion for the song. This was the second day I had performed this piece, with a very shaky and crappy performance due to anxiety the previous day.
the show was not a competition, but the lead tech manager had said the audience had cheered the loudest she had heard in her life, that being said, there were some AMAZING other acts.
I have a deep love for Joe Hisaishi's compositions and will continue to post more of them on my channel. Give a like and a sub if you're interested!
thank you so much for watching

Hey y'all! (semi)-Quick PSA: For those struggling with SAD/Depression (Social Anxiety Disorder), or any disorder or addiction for that matter, I wanted to express my understanding of the them. I have since recovered, but at the time this video was recorded, my SA was at its worst--I have never been more terrified of a performance in my life. Even when I sat in the practice rooms with the door closed, I would start getting seriously anxious if I knew even one person was able to hear me. I knew I was disadvantaged for this performance so I practiced tirelessly. After a while I began to hate the song, but my biggest goal at the time was for my music to be heard, or for at least one person to feel changed after they left the auditorium--so I kept practicing. I believe this truly shows the importance of setting goals; I never would have even finished this piece if it weren't for the goal I had set in my mind. The thought of the concert would provoke so much anxiety the week beforehand, and I questioned whether I could even perform the piece. Once I got on the stage the anxiety so was unbearable I felt like vomiting, but as I played on I had reached a state of 'flow' where my anxiety entirely melted away. It is a very strange feeling, but the best I can explain is that the piano and I became one, and I'd never played better in my life. I walked off the stage with a deep sense of pride, and happiness that short term gratification could never match. I had reached an audience, and they had heard my music--this was all that I needed, but you all blew this video up. To everyone who watched, I cannot thank you enough. Not only had fulfilled my dream, but you all took it to a new level. I still to this day enjoy reading the new comments, and those who were inspired by this performance. There is nothing more I could ask for in life, but I will continue to strive to reach a bigger audience one day. I wanted to share my story, so those with SAD/Depression can understand that not only is it possible to do things unimaginable, but that you can do so much more than you think you are capable of. I found my happiness by helping others, but the first steps I ever made was reaching out for help. Therapy is hard and exhausting, but I encourage those who have access to it, to grasp it firmly. To those who don't, swallow your shame and talk to a friend, family member, or anyone for that matter. Because, "When you see the problem, but you can’t find the solution, you’re the problem." Recovery is possible, and the odds are absolutely stacked against you, but if you give up you're a BITCH. Get your ass up and ask for help. Thank u for reading

there's two rules all pianists must know: 1. Never stop while performing, no matter what 2. never repeat missed notes it made me die inside when he repeated the notes 2 times but the save was good, props to him for performing in front of the school. I remember playing for my final music school exam and then suddenly forgot the notes completely, started slowing down cause I completely forgot what to play next, and then suddenly when I was just about to stop it popped into my head and I started playing again, felt petrified at that moment.

Man, as a young pianist who’s been playing since I was four, people always told me that I have great musicality and it didn’t matter how many mistakes I made the piece sounded amazing, I never quite understood what they meant. In the moment, any slip up sticks with you and makes your hands sweat for the rest of the piece! Watching you perform and the passion behind every movement really makes me understand why having musicality is so important. Even though you had a slip up it was such a forgettable moment because of how phenomenal you played. Thank you for sharing this performance

This is one of my all time favourite songs, and thank God that I got to hear you play it. Such PASSION and LOVE in the music! You can really hear how much you clearly respect and love the piece. I really hope you continue with music, because you have such colour in your notes! 💜

I’ve seen this video since it first came out and I just haven’t been able to stop listening to this beautiful performance. It’s something about this specific amount of emotion and the way you don’t stop and your coordination is just perfection
