I love the post tournament voice overs. Getting your thoughts and insights for both the games and just in general is a lot of fun. The fact that you're out there retired and meming and can still show up and make pro players sweat is amazing.
Seriously! I mean, I know how good you are and I still wouldn’t have been mad if you lost one of the first 2 series. Very nice effort, thanks for sharing this!
@@toddfisher8248I fully agree, it's just that the other guys are cutthroat professionals on their peak performance Sometimes you just beat the 12h training schedule
Well played, Marc! Lambo is an absolute beast, but you played some absolutely fantastic games. GG, and maybe next year you can go just as far as full Random!
You have the goods Thermy! The last reaper fail I think has bitten a lot of us Terrans recently. The enemy has been burned by reapers so much they are hyper prepared for them now, but it's so tempting because you know how fast 5 reapers can destroy the economy. GG and I will cheer for you next time!
God some of these people in twitch chat should be embarrassed of themselves 😮💨. oh BTW you got a feature in the MEMES OF LIBERTY campaign mod, with one of your strats and a name shoutout, and also GGG said you were a solid dude
According to liquidpedia Serral is qualified and will participate. :) (But obviously he will have less training than if he could do his usual training for this tournament, so it is a big disadvantage.)
@@TheSuperappelflap Yeah, you are correct, but remember, that was quite at the start of his military service. And now we have a new map pool. This stuff adds up - the longer you can train less than you normally would do (especially if there are some changes to maps / balance) the more noticable it will be. Has Serral chances to win? Of course! He probably is still the favorite. But without his military service, his chances would be even better. But let's hope he overcomes this disadvantage and he will add another triumph :)
Hey Marc! Have you played against Harstem (Kevin) at all? You both are from the Netherlands and the only SC2 RU-vidrs I watch. I'd love to see a PvT between the two of you.
Yes he did from time to time; he's harstem first opponent in this video : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pKN5Xpl_G4g.htmlsi=-n8e8ijyiaAFt6WZ Harstem is still active as a pro though, so he try hard a lot more than thermy. Well, at the time of the video I linked at least, I'd be curious to see a new match between them now that Marc is being more serious competitively ! =)
Many times, although its not always easy to tell unless someone point it out in the comments because they often use different in game names and dont realise they are playing each other
@@iskandar7688 Agreed, but he also has entire cheese series where he's more laid back. But you're right, I just watched his latest livestream and gosh he's a machine.
Amazing video Marc, I really enjoyed it. Top 16 is a really good placing and I think your final defeat was mostly just a problem with learning a new map. The kind of stuff that comes easier to someone on that competitive grind, which you're not doing. Thank you for sharing with us
idk to me the tempest seemed normal, he went stargate so to break your siege he went the next step of stargate the tempest, which in my mind is basically air artillery, they outrange your turrets and can easily kite and poke your turrets/tanks down.
1:17:15 Extremely premature quit. Being behind before 4 minutes is absolutely something that can be turned around. Just as one can make a mistake, so can the opponent later on. Besides, the most challenging and exciting games are the rare ones where the player surpasses his own expectations. But a player who gives up easily will hardly ever give himself the opportunities to surpass and play the most exciting matches one can play.
Hey Thermy ! We need a video on your mechanics specific ! The way you play the game ! Like micro etc Analysis how you press every button on your keyboard like in slow motion to understanding the cycle your did or not, the way your altern group 1 to group 4 etc... Plz plz my friend !!! True fan here wanna play like you 😢😮😊
Look ma, I'm on TV! 😁 I was looking forward to this video after watching the stream live. I'm surprised that you used the stream to comment over instead of replay files. But I like it! However, the first round against Strange has some useless political chat which take away from the video, for me at least. But still a great video! Good job on the tournament!!! 👏 Would have been fun to see you go further, but it is what it is.
@uthermal I love your usual vidz where you live comment, and it's impressive as f*ck but to be frank, I prefer this type of vid. Because we get the best of you on both front, commentary And gameplay! Anyway, I love all your content, continue being you, you're awesome and a big thank you for your content ! ❤😊
a diamond would struggle to do a push like that protoss did. so clearly hes for sure 4-5k Pretending to be plat to try and win a tournament is kinda of insane and scummy. but honestly, I respect the hustle.
The dude defs could be a smurf but I dont think assuming that because of someone's micro you can assume theyre a smurf I have been accused of smurfing on ladder games for having really good micro and abnormal APM for a plat player but i peaked like plat 1 all time in sc2
props to both you and lambo but 1:13:13 just shows you how stupid banelings are and why they shouldn't be in the game...seriously....you can't expect anyone other than AI to be able to survive that...it just doesn't belong in the game where 3 seconds wipe out your entire army
APM (actions per minute) pros keep clicking and are constantly going fast to stay alert and ready to play rapidly, kind of a constant warm up if you will xD
These were great games, I'm pretty sure I said it before, but I love the challenge builds (looking forward to blink dt to gm 😅) but it is fun to see a normal play sometimes too
Love your videos, uThermal. Just my opinion, I love when your silhouette is in the video. Can u just put yourself in the video even if you are making a voice-over, ps 🥹🥹🥹
No, not literally. This is not the biggest tournament man, inflation matters a lot, especially recently. Im really surprised that people are still fooling themselves at nominal values. It's maybe third or fourth biggest tournament, not biggest. If we had tournament 100 000 $ and then we had inflation 500% 1 year then we need 600 001 $ tournament to tell "this is the biggest tournament". Guys, please. But yeah, it's pretty big anyways. But don't confuse yourself and others. In reality inflation was much higher than official data, there is a new methodology. In reality after 10 years 1 dollar then is like 2,5-3 dollar now. Just look at the prices then and now. So it's far from biggest prize, just remember about it. You can forgot about inflation during low inflation years, but not when inflation was high.
