I PLAYED MADDEN 25 EARLY! My Thoughts on the Gameplay Blog 

Frost bite engine is one of the big issues with why madden won't ever be good again.

Never been less interested in a Madden game. What makes college so much better is they actually balanced their abilities. Madden abilities like set feet lead ruin the game. Makes ratings irrelevant and is just training wheels. Really love how NCAA made them more as badges and don't gaurantee outcomes

I wonder if it's better to be me, someone older who got to experience football games when they were made with passion but had it taken away, or if it's better to be someone younger who doesn't know what they are missing? NFL exclusive license and the Frostbite engine killed this game.

madden is one of those games that when you play it you’re genuinely shocked at how bad it is

I think the rhythm of college football is faster. Where the nfl is a little slower paced and more precise while the actually on field play is faster

All I need to know is how immersive franchise mode is. Whether or not they have added some of the immersion details from the early 2000s era? Or whether they have added new things to make it immersive and entertaining. Like the radio show for '07. Or broadcasters during the draft getting a breakdown of the players as they are picked.

The trade off to having custom stems and tons of hot routes is pass rush needs to be much better. I agree you should be able to have some setting to always slide towards a player (elite pass rusher) but not doing so should absolutely result in having a tough time. Otherwise we are going to see a game like CFB where defense is almost impossible against a competent opponent

I hate that I'm going to buy another Madden game, but I can't help it, I'm such a football fan! I'm so excited about the upcoming NFL season that it drives me to get the next Madden.

CFB25 only seems faster because defenders are designed to pursue players from behind even if they’re in front of them lmfao

Madden will never be great again, just polishing a turd over and over, they need like a revamp 1000% take off 4 years and recreate this, just as 2k is doing with their new game thats being worked on.

Madden pursuit angles have always been bad.. but in Cfb they are just extremely terrible and unrealistic…

Is tha CUT STICK still in tha game from last Year on defense?

It’s weird because Clint used the phrase “contact balance” in the blog but they never called it out as an attribute. When they showed the stats and weight overlay on the one collision, I guess they just told us that under the hood that’s what contact balance is? Because they also show Zay flowers breaking tackles so is it now gonna be the logic of how they had highlight stick vs truck stick in 07? I’m encouraged by the system but I worry it’s gonna be signature Tiburon and they introduce it this year, patch it because people complain before they git gud, then they abandon iterating on it until lk M29. We’ll see.

It sounds amazing as far as the defense recognizing the same play on offense, the defense recognizing all blitzes and so on...they need to fix individual defensive shade inside & out...as where they stay on the side u tell them...if i tell them individually inside n outside they should stay no matter what

My problem with the spec catches is it'll be like madden 11 with the rocket catches in the corner of the endzone all over again.

Im honestly glad he said "I wouldn't have spent my time on hit sticks." After not having madden for about 5 years i got it last year and went crazy on h2h got my rank up to about 250 then i stopped playing online altogether. Through my time playing i almost always had my run style on conservative and rarely got hit sticked. Fact of the matter is: YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE JUKE TRUCK SPIN or any special ball carrier moves to be an effective runner in madden so why even have your runners in the game without conservative on?! I know I use conservative to my advantage but you can literally juke your opponent without actually using the juke button and that's a change that needs to happen right now. Until that change is made then the hit stick is pretty pointless. Also, when i went for tackles it was almost always a dive or wrap tackle because most people have conservative on.

Is pass trajectory better like it is in ncaa. Can you actually drop it in over a DB without them swatting it 90% of the time?

Madden 25 is going to have you inputting the equivalent of a MK finisher to beat the last defender for a touchdown. lol

Im good with cf 25 for now. I feel like i actually need to improve playing that. Madden is just going to be the same as usual.

The Metal Gear Solid made me happy, Foxx. Still the best single player game of all time.

The only way I will get hyped for a Madden game and buy at release again is if they use a new engine and build from the ground up. Frostbite has been terrible for sports games and should only be used in Battlefield. I want to look at a Madden game and not instantly know it's a Madden game... It has had the same look for 10+ years now and no matter how many things they claim to change and improve each year I just cannot get excited for a new Madden...

The spectacular catch is so dumb. What is the reward? If this was NFL/ NBA street, and the style points led to a game-breaker it makes sense. It's cool that it opens the reticle but if my guy isn't diving then what are you really doing?

*Madden will always have scripting that dictates the outcome of games to some extent. interception scripting, tackle scripting, receiving exploits. even 2K5 and APF2K8, as solid as they were, had a remnant of tackle scripting. Honestly, I think Backbreaker is the only football game ive ever played that felt true to life. the engine made for some wonky moments but gameplay was absent any kind of scripting from what I remember* 👌

Im sticking with CFB25. That game is a chess match. Like real football. Adjustmetns , schemes, shells..you got to do it or get toasted. Madden is too much bs with the xfactors . Get rid of that crap and do what CF25 did with abilities.

The reality is MUT has ruined the game $$$$ . I say this because very few players have good abilities because the want you to buy it in MUT.. Example : only KC quarterback is the only player in the league that can hot route players ?!!! He's the only one with it in regs . No linebacker can catch , really! Unless u buy lurker in MUT. Just to name a few. I'm in a league where we only use the original rosters. And u aren't able to buy abilities, this is all done face to face.. I hate MUT if you can't tell. 😂
