I have so much MORE to say on the DLC, but what else would YOU like to know? Subscribe for LOADS more Shadow of the Erdtree content!! 🎉 There are no story or lore spoilers in this video!
Definitely more info about specific weapons, weapon arts, and magic. These are valuable bit of info to learn about but spoil nothing, which is great. I really want to explore the world in my own first; but, I am so bad about figuring out which weapons are best and how best to use different weapons. Also, builds/guides on gear & weapons is useful. One more question though: do the new weapons level up the same way? Do you find lots of smithing stones? I know I can buy them now, but only up to level 9. What about new summons? Any that you particularly recommend?
Spells! Also, whether Messmers flame is the godslaying flame. Saw a thread on Twitter with v1.0 effects, and most of the black flame miracles actually used a flame identical to Messmers. Makes me wonder if Messmer is wielding the original, undimininished version - and the flame in the Lands Between was changed to black to coincide with the defeat of the gloam eyed queen
@SoFCeO I'm also level 100 on HD2. I'm trying to get back into elden ring. I had over 300hours invested before I stopped playing some 2 years ago lol. It's gunna be like starting over as a newb now
@@FarFrom_Puken I put over 1000+ hours into Elden Ring. I play enough souls/souls likes that I'm not overly worried about the difficulty. Mainly worried I'll lock myself out of content and have to start a whole new playthrough!
I always hated how fromsoft games is just absolutely littered of millions of dog shit fashion armor sets and then just a couple godly fashion ones, and the only in between ones are the starting class ones
shorter than the five thousand year stretches that the Two Fingers began to make after Radagon blocked access to the inside of the Erdtree. Yes, that was a Max0r reference.
Bro, every time you post a video and I hear you speak, no matter what I’m doing or how things are going, I feel better! Thanks for that! I'm really glad you had this beautiful experience, thanks for sharing it so pleasantly. In your video about the best weapons for the DLC, I was one of those who suggested some alternatives to your proposals. Fortunately, I have the peace of mind that comes from having presented it to you with the good energy and respect you deserve. Thank you for your great content and your unbeatable vibes. See you in the DLC.
Dom, Congrats on being one of the "first ones" to game Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Have fun gaming and remember to keep us "up to date," as able! Being able to play it with the big statue of Mesmer, in a church in France? Nice... Also, looks to be a big DLC! Getting ready to Cry many times.😉
My fave video about the DLC so far. Loved your "atmosphere and environment" section. That's one of the biggest aspects of From games for me, so I'm happy to hear someone touch upon that
I was just saying the very same thing. Is there another AAA company that even comes close to these guys? Maybe the Baldur’s gate folks but that’s about it.
I really can't wait for this DLC, it looks just amazing. This is going to be the longest 2 weeks of my life this year and your video just got me even more excited.
Freakin hell, Dom. I was totally expecting clickbait. Thank you for not being that kind of person. I love this. My 1 week PTO is definitely gonna be amazing.
When Dom mentioned that you got to play the DLC early it made me so happy. So well deserved for your time and dedication to the lore these 2 years. Can't wait for your DLC lore breakdowns
After 3 failed attempts at completing elden ring. Your content literally pulled me through my 4th attempt and yes I finally became elden lord!! Had a bit of a break playing other games but they just don’t quite scratch the itch, so looks like I’m getting the dlc…. Looking forward to being dragged through again by your content. Keep up the good work!!
Thank you for the video! I'm so unbelievably hyped. Honestly, toward the end of my time playing Elden Ring before putting it down for a while, I was getting so bogged down by all the meta spam and cookie cutter builds. Decided to force myself to use some non-standard builds and god it was tough at times, but now I'm so glad I did. 1. Queen of Vipers build - Arcane Dex -- (heavy) poison & (light) bleed focused build with the snake claws, snake shield and serpent bow. So hyped for throwing knives and the flower blooms twice weapon art ㅠㅠ can get more of a varied move set and I'm hyped for new poison options! 2. The Split Sorcerer - Int & Str build with a focus on gravity magic and the old sorceress (rain, etc) with meteorite blade and moonveil combo -- I absolutely need to try the new gravity sorcery and katana movesets 3. Mephisto - (heavy) Str & (light) Faith build -- a fist only build focused on fast attacks and quick movement -- obviously need hand to hand arts // weapons and excited to see how I feel about the beast claws 4. Death Build - Int & Faith -- just hyped for new summons like the death bird and fingers and ghost flame xD Can't believe it's so close to dropping!!
Just started my first playthrough 2 weeks ago and im regretting not starting earlier , good bit of grinding to do before the dlc as im only lvl72 but really looking forward to it
@DomsRoundtable I have a few days off from work this week so plan on getting as close to lvl 150 before I'm back to work! Look forward to seeing your content on full release!
@@kennethtaylor1349honestly instead of grinding, def recommend just fighting bosses. You can “speed it up” by looking up a boss location guide or map. Level 75… I’m guessing the boss areas that would net you quick level up will be Caelid, Altus, maybe lyndell, and the underground areas. It’ll be more fun than grinding and being overpowered for these bosses and give you a more fun experience while also speeding up the process since you’ll essentially be going from boss to boss instead of hours of exploring between them. Make sure to kill mohg and radahn for the dlc entrance !
Great insight on the new content. You have always been able to view th eammount of runes you will gain. You just have to change the view to the second screen.
Thanks Dom and well deserved. I'm sooo looking forward to trying out the Hand to Hand combat style - takes me back to my time playing the Teras Kasi Artist character class in SWG. Unarmed/ H2H is such a cool fighting style 😎
Very, very nice video, I cant wait ^^ Oh, and one more thing. You could actually see the amount of runes the consumable runes give you before, by pressing Square to see the detsiled item describtion. Although it still makes me happy it shows by standart now ^^
I am facing a deep dilemma about whether I truly want to watch this video or not. Nice one, Dom. No video has ever made me feel like I cannot watch it, but also NEED to watch it.
I'm sure it's already been mentioned somewhere in the comments but the rune change isn't a new QOL update to the DLC, it's already in the game. Just press the change view button in your inventory and the game will already tell you how many runes each rune item is worth.
Elden ring was my first dark souls game I had ever played. I uninstalled it 3 times till I came across a RU-vidr with guide videos I have over 120 hours and couldn’t defeat the the last boss well I’d get through the first boss but then couldn’t beat the next one that would come in. I got close alot but as much as I fell in love with the game I was losing my mind at the same time lol so I gave up for the first time ever in my life on a game. I also only uninstalled the game multiple times because I had no idea where to go in the massive ass world hahah I was thinking about trying to defeat the last boss to move on to the DLC but I think instead I’m going to sit back and watch you guys play lol even though this looks absolutely amazing! I don’t want to watch a guide video again lol I also don’t get how you guys no where to go to find the people for quests and what not especially when it depends on the time of day lol Respect to all you players out there who play this game
My recommended build for yall is a faith int build with moonlight greatsword, dragon incants, and golden order seal, and the black assasin armor to have less aggro and crimson +2 medallion, erdtree favor +2, warrior jar equip load one, (usage of seppuku, golden vow, and jellyfish shield in offhand and based on how many enemies use a certain element or physical within any area a +2 tailsman for that said dmg for negation (lvl 190 build)
Oh MAN I love the new perfume attacks. Side note - did you guys know that in the v1.0 release of the original, the Black Godslaying Flame was actually the same color as Messmer's? There's images of it on Twitter someone posted in March (I think)... Have to wonder if it was changed to black, because it lost its power, and if Messmer is wielding the original version?
I really want to dig into that Thrusting Shield weapon. I guarantee you just weren't giving it the attention it needed. I'm betting its an absolute unit of a weapon type. I'm so stoked.
Absolutely without a doubt making a full kitchen sink throwing build. Someone mentioned a throwable greathammer so thats the main with perfume bottles in the off hand
It is pure pain mixed with the most exquisite badassery. It truly grasps the name and likeness of dark souls throught the years. I’m not even half way done.
So excited to play this and really looking forward to your new content! Is there somewhere to watch any of your old playthroughs back to tide me over until release?
I leaned heavily into bleed and rot and it seems to be effective still. Really having fun with Lenora’s pole blade or what ever it’s called haven’t played this game for some time lol
Sealed Spiritsprings are very similar to a mechanic added in Elden Ring Reforged, where you have to find and defeat a spirit bird to unlock them. Same with the black hole spell. I wonder if FROM has taken some inspiration from the modding scene?
Awesome, thanks for the video! Knowing about the new weapons will definitely help me decide which character to setup. Sadness. As for QoL changes, I had really hoped for further hotkey support for PC. I'd love to be able to set all my spells to different hotkeys and not have to cycle...
Holding swords backwards? Throwing weapons? New cosmetics and fashion? This alone deserves the price and preorder. Thank you Miyazaki and thank you Dom :)
Dude I am almost to ng+3 and I haven’t fought Melania or Rykard yet. I don’t know how to get to them lol and I try to avoid looking up guide for this game. I feel like it will be months after the dlc drops before I even pick it up cause I am still pretty green as far as most eldenring players go. This dlc does look really cool though. Can’t imagine how huge and intricate this game is gonna be. I’m already pretty overwhelmed with awe with the base game.
@@DomsRoundtable since the DLC seems to have a high emphasis on torrent, I wonder how they will go about it, since he can't be summoned in base game co-op
@@DieSpielhoelle did you see the beast claw things? Straight up looked like Hourah Loux. I hope there's some other boss like him we can duke it out with using those weapons
I am so freakin excited to see your new content. I did stop myself just shy of 7 minutes but my it was a hard decision❤ Love your work and know I will watch every minute of the content that’s forthcoming including this one…
Seriously can't wait for all the new stuff to add to my collection! Finally, my mad confessor can master martial arts and beast claws! Holy crap, the new fashion options! Also, one note, if you can find a jellyfish shield, is there a worm noodle sword?!? I must investigate this. For posterity. 😎🍻😎
I would really like to know if bows have been fixed in the game? They are always so underpowered in these games and they almost got them right with the black bow but they are very much a side utility weapon that can’t be buffed by talismans and is meant to either poke a small amount of damage or take out a single enemy in a group before engaging in actual combat. I have always wanted to be able to make an archery class that is capable of solely using bows or crossbows but due to the poor scaling the damage output is always abysmal. Also the elemental arrows don’t seem to make any difference other than bleed because of the burst damage. I just hope that they will finally make them a viable type of main weapon because if spell casters can blast enemies with magic from a distance I feel like bows should be completely capable of something similar.
Poison flower blooms twice is not a new mechanic. Poison moths flight does the dame thing consuming current poisoning for a big hit. Although with scarlet rot that part is new
The DLC looks absolutely sick but it has to be said, who in the Godefroy is Relanna 😂 Can't wait to also fight Starfriend Radahl and Manelia, Blunt Instrument of Michael
14:36 Is that one of the Light Greatswords? I’m really looking forward to some sort of Fiore Dei Liberi (Akademia Szmierzy) builds for reasonable swords!
So with this new upgrading system. after you upgrade, does it transfer back to the base game? Or is the new upgrading system active only within the DLC?
Dom I'm so jealous. It's a shame you don't remember the name of the Black Knight, I want to make a new character so badly and I want to name myself after him. Knight of Solitary Gaol sounds badass and the crossbow looks insane.
The swordshield thing is kinda baffling. It probably would have your typical colossal weapon guard and probably more knockback and no recoil on block unlike greatshields, the only upside being the two handing guard bonus and lower weight. If scholar's shield works with it however this changes everything because you could now change infusion without affecting guard and still be two handing a weapon with an AOW and max defense. This however means you're stuck with the same element on offense and defense when typically those endmies resist the elements they inflict. I can't wait to see how i can break the game with these weapons.
Its good that the new difficulty is going to be completely optional although from your wording it seems like there will be a lot of these items scattered about and depending how potent "one" blessing is, it might be all too powerful to use all and also might infer that you want to use some of them. Is there no rough numbers on the blessing's potency? Secondly... I'm getting my hopes up that one of the characters you were given was INT/FTH. Game desperately needs more of those.
