It's sad what happened to Adriano the story is well known. His father passed away and Adriano began to rely on alcohol while grieving. He lost his conditioning and fell into the wrong crowd

It’s funny because Adriano wasn’t one of the fastest in the game and he forgot that Ferdinand was one of the fastest center backs in the world at the time
Hes an aussie i dont value his football opinion one bit. Adriano was god mode though in the right hands amazing shot power and strength. I found stankovic decent too.
My experience with gamedev is.. If you add too much layers of refinement, you can't really see the core anymore.. Let alone edit and improve that core!
My goodness do you expect to win the game the first time you pick it up? PES6 was really rewarding once you get good at it. And it stays a challenge even later on against the AI. There are so many little intricacies and the amount of control it gives YOU the player. The stats of the players are important, but without being good yourself it doesn't matter. This is not FIFA
Imagine if Konami starts to make a remake of these games and the winning eleven 8, but everything in detail first the graphics then the shorter shirts and loosen jerseys just like back in the day, I would buy it instantly and one more thing the same playability like in 2004 and 2006.
The defenders kept catching you up because back then football games understood how players are always slower with the ball than without. These days as long as you have better pace than defenders you always outrun them, which is unrealistic.
I actually think the graphics have held up much better than any other contemporary football game, it's still watchable in an arcadey way and you can recognize everyone. Also, PES dribbling was always a combination of starts, stops and skills, rather than just pure running ahead full steam, that is why you keep losing the ball, because when you double tap the sprint button, it causes the ball to be knocked away from you which in turn lets the defender steal it easier
Exactly it was sheer genius for gameplay, he sucks anyway we played this as a proper season i wa utd other mate was arsebal and the other chelsea did cups and all, full 30 min games which is as close to simulation as you can get and a real test of mental resolve. You could slow the play down and tinker with formations instead of just running blindly end to end with a few through balls.
@@bensmithkent22 Speed in this game literally doesn't matter. The 2 stats that break this game are Balance and Shot power. Goalkeepers are nearly useless. You can cheese this game with literally a few players: Adriano, Ibra, Batistuta (classic Argentina), etc. High balance=You will NOT lose the ball if defenders are behind you. You can just turn your back and either do Cruyff turns or just move around until you have a clear way to shoot. Shooting is BUSTED. It doesn't matter how much accuracy your player has. As long as he got the "long range" skill and maybe the knuckle shot/outside of boot shot skill he will score often from outrageous distances (30 meters or so) and there is nothing the goalkeepers can do. This is why Adriano is busted. He has all the right skills to break the game and other skills to complement it as well
You're playing like someone who plays FIFA. Adriano has 86 pace so he's going to get caught because as you run your stamina depletes quicker when in possession of the ball. That's how you're caught. Because you're constantly targeting Adriano you're always going to get caught. You're other players have been in masses of space whist you try and force a goal for Adriano. In PES you have to pass and create space with intricate moves rather than try and run through the defence like you do FIFA.
Yeah, thanks for commenting this. Enjoyed the video, but the game was so much fun because dribbling only works when you create the moments for it. FIFA never clicked for me in that aspect.
Thing that made this game great was the different legendary players that were around that the time in different clubs. You have your Brazil Ronaldo, Zidane, Henry, Figo, Owen, Ronaldinho etc. Including young Messi & Ronaldo. So many great players within the game.
you cant say that to this day arguably it still holds its weight, for the console it was built for the graphics are superb, the gameplay is wonderful, its such a good football game
Really loved pes6 one of the best football games ever made Konami were on fire back then..also enjoyed watching this the commentary had laughing the whole time, great video, brought back so many memories
You have to remember players are always going to be slower dribbling compared to defenders that don’t have a ball at their feet which is why they catch up
When you master sliding tackles it was so enjoyable. Also headers and crosses were great. Long shots, dribbling everything was so enjoyable. So much memories I played PES 6 with patches and updated squads all the way until next great PES 2013. PES was decades in front of FIFA gameplay those years. Nowadays this graphics are looking bad but at that time seemed beautiful.
Playing this game now for the first time, won't do it justice. Unfortunately, if you didn't play PES through this era back in the day, then you won't really understand or see how good it actually was. Also, the "slower" players weren't keeping up with Adriano, they were just closing down on open angles that you left with your dribbling. Regardless, he wasn't that quick anyway.
PES 6 is an easy game once you get used to dribbling. PES 4 is much faster; and long short is more overpowered. You can use Vieri to score at 40 m pretty regularly. PES 4 is very hard for defence. I like the Tiki-taka style of football and PES 6 does very well on it.

I had pes 2006 it was called on Xbox 360 omg it was amaizing . I was like 5 years old and played it everyday . I don't even know how I had it cuz I def didin't buy it. This was like 2011

Inter were simply unreal in the right hands all players felt incredible. Even off the bench cambiasso adriano and stankovic were my spine and go to guys.
PES6 was so legendary it still gets modded for PS2 to this day. Konami also officially modified it to release PES 2007 all the way to 2014 on PS2 as well , while kept the actual new games for next gen
Everyone talks about Adriano but IMO the real OP player is Henry. He had unreal stats and could take on entire teams on his own lol. Apart from the crazy shot power, Henry was superior to Adriano
Greatest football game ever made. You need to play one two’s to open teams up but its still difficult. No idea how I used to play this on the highest difficulty back in the day. PES 5 is a little easier but theres too many fouls on it. You should check out the firebird 2023 patch. It’s updated to last seasons teams, they don’t have time to do this season unfortunately but its unbelievable what they’ve done to it.
I Recently got PES 6 on Xbox360. It really hard to find copy like those games because I live in the US and it's called Pro Evolution Soccer 2007. I cannot wait to play it. I do want to get a PS2 version but it's difficult to find one of them.
far more better than fifa22. if u want an Arcady football game play legendary pes instead of FIFA 22. but, if u want to play original football simulation game play efootball22. Never go for robotic fifa22...
Miss this game so much. The reason why you had such a hard time scoring is because you were speeding (with the trigger) too much. Once you know this game you will find out that defenders are easier to beat without the speeding trigger, they get confused when you slow your pace and change direction with the ball at the right time. Try it out!
Wow I had no idea this game was so iconic just looking up old ps2 games up your vid came up. this was legit my 4th Ps2 game ever when I was 7yrs old. Great video
