Even leaving aside that there are some very strong children out there, you show your opponent respect by taking them seriously and playing your strongest game. Be kind and friendly and welcoming off the board, and be as cutthroat and lethal as you can on the board.
@justicegaming1412
@justicegaming1412 Год назад
In any competitive game where you can play against children in rated matches you better be prepared to blow them out of the water because there are prodigies lurking everywhere. I once played in a Magic tournament against a 13 year old kid who was playing a deck that routinely killed people on the first turn of the game. You better believe I took him seriously when I got paired against him.

there's no better way to teach a beginner the important basic structures to be scared of than playing all the dubious gambits there are. these things never exist in 'serious' openings so your eye never learns to spot them from those. and if you don't spot them you'll keep falling for them every time.

Hey Eric, i'm a big fan! I learned to play the sStafford from your games (I study your opening repertoire on lichess). Just had a quick question regarding the position you got in game. After 10. Bf4 you responded with 11. Qe7 Online you tried once 11. Qh5 According to the computer the best move by far is 11. Qf6. Did you study this and decided that Qe7 is the trickier move? Or that the position is pretty hard to play for black after Qf6 ? Or did you not consider Qf6 as a candidate move ?

It’s wild how the engine eval is so in favor of white in the Stafford; the position looks scary with all the open lines of sight for black’s pieces; unless the refutation is in white’s prep, they’re going to be down a lot of time if they manage to make it out of the middlegame
