We need more people like that to be open. People have gotten too scared to open up and people are to blame for that for judging and making others uncomfortable.
The fact that "knowing Halo" is now considered to make one more "hardcore" honestly breaks my heart. I used to live and breathe Halo when I was a kid, and it was immensely popular. Couldn't see a year go by without some new game being titled a "potential Halo killer", but nothung ever killed Halo, except Halo itself... It deeply saddens me how far the franchise has fallen 😭
Archaeologist here, musicality is so ingrained in us that there are specific brain structures not just for playing music, but that activate to react to music in unison: dancing, singing, playing along, it's impossible to listen to music and not have a neuronal response. What's more, music is definitely older than written language, and might be older than spoken language, the fact that certain "emote" sounds like babies calling "mama" and "papa" or the typical "mm-hm" are universal even for no-internet uncontacted tribes in the deepest jungles show it's actually encoded in us. Music not just brings us together, it is us, it is our souls getting out and connecting.
He probably didn't even notice. It happens all the time in crowds. I would know living in a large family with a gathering size of about two dozen people.
The look at 7:24... It's hard to explain but I see this look from so many people. It's a look of dissection and passion. I used to do fire performing and that is the same look
The fact he was at a gaming convention and had the audacity to not play the Minecraft theme, sonic theme, fruit ninja theme, fortnight theme, fallout theme, raid theme, over watch theme, angry birds theme, tf2 theme, pac man theme, btd6 theme,Metroid theme,Wii theme, sonic theme, mega man theme, all Pokémon themes, gta theme, crash theme,Spyro theme,Skyrim theme, street fighter theme, donkey Kong theme, goat simulator theme, half life theme, mortal combat theme, fnaf theme,PvZ theme,Lego Batman theme, portal theme, mother theme,oh and I guess the undertail theme ig, is absurd!
Can’t stop watching this started on a high note with super Mario’s theme and then finishing with halo3 absolutely impeccable, hope you get all the credit you deserve, big love from England
It's awesome to see the pure joy from the onlookers when they recognize a song. That security dude absolutely moved closer for the Zelda medley. Adorable.
I was honestly impressed and enjoyed when you played the main theme song of Mario, especially at 6:34 when this dude totally played the Super Mario Bros Theme song so amazingly well and he's talented alright! Super Mario Bros is the best game I've ever played in my life and mario games mean so much to me... The rest of the other video game theme songs on piano were beautiful i really enjoyed it a lot listening to you playing these songs on piano!! Keep up the great work love your videos as well! ❤😁😄
Absolutely amazing! I showed your Coconut Mall one to my younger sister a while back and she laughed it but loved it, me as well! Also, cool you met someone new as well who recognized you.
Don't get me wrong, "Saria's Song" is a fine tune, but for me personally the Lost Woods theme will always be "Forest of Mystery" from A Link to the Past.
Haven’t heard the halo theme song in a long time (not that I ever played it) but the instant I heard it I felt the urge to T pose.. then I remembered the meme. Surprised people didn’t T pose!!!
I don't think you must be a Hardcore Gamer to know the music of HALO or SKYRIM, no matter if you had played the games the music was so good that it was known by many people who never played those games. I mean I never played a Zelda game, because it is almost exclusively a Nintendo series and these are not my consoles, but I still know the music.
I think that in fact they have the most impact on older people, who have known those melodies when they were yound and are old enough to be nostalgic. Nostalgia is a powerful emotion.
It's crazy. How places like the lost woods are just as real and dear to our heart as places we've been as children how hearing the music is just as nostalgic as looking back at our real lives such a happy feeling
Be honest, this video came out better than you probably expected it to be 😅 Loved the Zelda stuff but got tears in my eye during Halo. There is just something, seeing lads turn into boys reminiscing about couch coop, simpler times.
Meanwhile here, I remember a Japanese con we had and there were people performing anime songs on stage. everyone was quite hyped - but the minute someone started singing the Digimon theme song (Butterfly by Wada Kouji) EVERYONE went nuts. Never saw so much excitement. people were jumping, singing along - it was clear what the favorite was XD
You need to go for "The Seige of Madrigal", OG Bungie song that has snuck its way into every Bungie game since Myth. It's also super short and haunting
6:03 When the girl in the video said song of storms was the best, I felt vindicated, and I'm glad that he replied that it's his favourite. There's a stage of Super Smash Bros Ultimate that I pick just to listen to that song 😍
This is super enjoyable. Gamers also appreciate music a lot more than people realize as well. One of the main reasons the games are memorable is actually due to their music. Halo also reignited the love for Symphony. 😊❤😊 It actually helped increase pay for musicians in the business when they realized how much gamers appreciate a well put together soundtrack and composition. Elder scrolls series is another great example of this.
I quite like the Super Smash Bros. Brawl theme, which has more or less been the theme of every Smash Bros. game since then. The lyrics being in Latin certainly helps.
The *Tetris* song is iconic... but I swear, in my entire life, I never saw someone play the *ARCADE* version (that is the one I grew up with, so for me is more iconic than the *Nintendo'* s)
I love how the security just look at him mildly confused "Is he supposed to be here?" "Idk man but he sure as hell can work that piano" "Yeah, manager probably won't mind"
From one pianist to another: the Halo theme was mostly "look at me playing fast", and a lot of notes you either missed or just made up. It sounded like you needed to catch a train. If you're going to play the theme, play the theme.
Played video game songs at a video game convention,... and it worked!!!! If you can pull that off on something like a football event, I'm REALLY impressed! 😜 That said: As a gamer myself, I love listen to that music, keep it going!
I started flying, this song finally enlightened me, this song made me realize that burgers are burgers, and not sandwiches, this song made me realize that whoever addeds letters to maths is my biggest opp fr, this song made me realize that getting isekai'd by truck-kun sounds magical, this song is peak fantasy
some of personal favorite songs that would absolutely fall under being obscure, even for most gamers: Whereabouts of the Starts/Whereabouts of Light - Trails in the Sky: First Chapter Silver Will - Trails in the Sky: First Chapter: Cry for me, Cry for you - Trails in the Sky: the Third Get Over the Barrier - Trails from Zero Seize the Truth! - Trails to Azure Unfathomable Force - Trails to Azure The Glint of Cold Steel - Trails of Cold Steel Tie a Link with Arcus - Trails of Cold Steel Hamel -Remains- - Trails of Cold Steel 3
It’s nice to hear these on the piano. They always make it amazing for music from games. One of the ones I really enjoyed hearing that’s my favorite music theme from a game and a certain town is Canalave city.
Still have my old school original GAME BOY i bought back when it was released in 1990 in Europe. And still have it fully functional without a scratch. Just needs 4x AA batteries. And still have "Super Mario 1 and 2", and "Wario Land 1".... And "Donkey kong land", and "Tetris". And you cant forget about the "Legend of Zelda" as well.... and many others....
Nice video! I went to a video game orchestra concert in Stockholm once (Play! A videogame symphony orchestra), and I was surprised by a guy playing on keyboard outside the concert hall "Megaman - Snake man theme" and me and my brother thought it was awesome. Such a great feeling. Of course the evening was awesome with Machine Supremacy being the pre-concert band for the evening, playing old C64 melodies like from the game Outrun, also games like Castlevania and more. After that evening I decided to go watch Videogames live many times together with Score! in Sweden. There is a huge fanbase of videogame music in my country :)
