These are oversimplified concepts to help supp players who are hitting a brick wall to realize the game isn't fundamentally about healbotting and being helpless. In top mmr lobbies, the windows of opportunity you have are often miniscule as opponents actually position and pace correctly. In metal ranks especially, you windows of opportunity are so massive, that not hard winning your angles and smoking everyone isn't excusable. Edit: Another way to think of it is "play safe as you look for an opening" At lower mmrs, the openings are handed to you on a silver platter all game. At top mmr, they are not.
