Imagine being a helicopter pilot in a zombie apocalypse, the job with the highest mortality rate in the genre. You've made it pretty far and then get called in to rescue some guy. You go to your 'copter and get going. But you have a bad feeling. You know it. This is day your job finally catches up with you. It's destiny. You're going to make sure you get remembered tho, you're not like those other pilots who are all dead already. Anyway, you get there and, as expected, get attacked. This is it. Your way of being seared into the memory of the guy you were supposed to save? The single most comically stupid last words: "Fucking birds!"
The concept of dying to a zombie, your character becoming that zombie and then you having to kill that zombie in order to get your loot back is fucking dope, more games should have this system
@@aikawamood Project Zomboid isn't even a decade old, And its a pretty epic game that's i highly suggest trying it out its so much fun with friends too
@@aikawamood Project Zomboid technically isn't even fully released yet, since it's been in Early Access and in active development since like.. 9 Years? But it still has more gameplay and content to offer than most Zombie games do, so make out of that what you want.
@@bearb1asting You went behind his back helping a royal family doctor find a "cure" for the outbreak. the prepper felt betrayed because he believes surviving as long a possible is all thats left to do
@@cr8r145 Bit of an odd reason to be pissy. I mean if you are managing to survive WHILE helping someone figure out a potential cure, there’s no harm there. I mean, even if the cure idea fails, just go back to surviving normally. Why the feelings of betrayal?
@@PrincessAnime172 it was a pity dr4 was so poor and basically killed off the franchise. I'd love a dr1 remake or just a brand new game and story based in between dr2 and dr3
@@rorymurphy9625 DR4 wasn’t too bad but they should have stopped at 3. On that note DR3 I thought was ok. I feel they could have left chuck out or left at a mention, instead brought Frank in since that would have been perfect Trilogy. Wished there were also more psychos too. I enjoyed that they were based on the 7 deadly sins but their could have been more since the variety of psychos were fun to look into
@@saihiko9967 Im pretty sure lol. Was trying to melee a zomb to help her clear the area when I hear the gunshot, lose almost all my health and then the zombie finished me while I was still confused what happened
Original version of the game didn't even have additional melee weapons beyond the cricket bat, it's why it feels weird getting the better melee weapons early on in the ports.
It's just a bad port thing probably. The Wii U version does not have any melee weapons in it other than the cricket bat which is why it's non removable. Ubisoft probably just didn't think or take the time to modify it while porting the game.
Zombii, jank port ZombiU, jank and charming, working with the Wii-U mechanics quite well, adding to the stress having to manage your perspective in real time Great to watch this in action though, and your realisation of being stuck with a cricket bat lol, we all had to suffer that realisation too
I know a few games that put you in an arena / game shows with zombies; - Dead Rising 2 - Dead Island - Dying Light - Ben and Ed - Resident Evil 7 (if you count that part with the death traps / puzzle room / game show)
14:28 i like the way you're getting it all lined up, measuring for the wind velocity, drop, how many zombies in the area,.. then it backfires, no pun intended 🤣
I think the sniper scope not being able to aim down was due to the wii u game pad in the original. If you lowered the pad while aiming then there was a point where you would stop aiming all together
Played well on console, with little to no bugs but it's worth a try if you can get it on sale. I at one point wanted a WiiU purely for this game and I'm glad I never did.
God I loved ZombiU when it xame out on the WiiU. Seeing it replayed, I think iy had EXCELLENT atmosphere and would honestly be a KILLER on a VR platform. Having the P.P be an item you have to hold out and look at and whatnot. Might recapture some of the panic of having to look down at the Gamepad back on the WiiU
I’ll just say as someone who played this game mainly on the Wii U, it was a FAR better. For example having to look down at the game pad for your inventory actually caused you to take you eyes off your TV screen leading to you possibly getting jumped by zombies because you were “in your bag”. This game had me playing slow, methodical, and thinking about every step. I loved it.
New subber, and I’ve literally watched all of your videos in one sitting. I’ve watched your beard go through a journey and your mind go through hell. Keep up the awesome work, my dude.
I don't usually comment on RU-vid but your channel deserves it. Discovered it with your Calliso Protocol video, and watched kinda all other videos since then. Amazing content, I bet you'll climb on RU-vid in no time if you keep this amazing job !
the ending fight made me remember how much fun it is too watch people play and panic with 50 ammo on thier back, spending it all on body shots and wasting them on armor zombies, it just feels amazing too watch.
They stopped making zombi u 2 because of the fact that they barely sold any copies of zombiu, if more people had bought zombiu at the time we might of seen zombiu 2 today
I got ZombiU and loved it. Made great use of the Wii U gamepad that would require you to look up at the tv to make sure no zombies were approaching while handling inventory or the map/radar and other things on the gamepad. The map being on screen in the port takes away so much from that core aspect. I wish I knew it would hit the bargain bins so quickly though, I paid full price!
I love how casual the helicopter pilot is with his imminent death. "Fucking birds, am I right? Anyway, see you guys, guess my choppers about to spiral into the ground in a massive fireball or whatever."
I should mention, John Dee is a real individual in British history, he predicted the plague and the great fire of London, but he also translated the Necronomicon into English and wrote 3 chapters of the satanic bible. Queen Elizabeth was impressed with his work and admired him (though she had a thing for simping for any male that lives an adventurous life) and appointed him head of the cathedral academy, which is now known as the Manchester cathedral (Which is my home city).
I've beaten this game twice on Wii U and once on Xbox. I'm doing my 4th playthrough now. It has some flaws but I love it and love replaying it. Wii U version is a lot different. You are much weaker in melee in that version because the swing animation in melee is much slower, making zombies scarier plus the cricket bat is the only melee weapon so you never get an upgrade. I assume this is why the port doesn't allow you to remove it from your inventory...lazy porting. There's a bunch of other differences in the Wii U version which makes it quite a different experience. The story is meh but the atmosphere and survival horror mechanics are so great in this game. I want a sequel so bad but it'll never happen since the game apparently sold terribly.
I think the only cool time a helicopter going down in any horror game was Advanced Warfare's exo zombies trailer. Those cutscenes were dope as fuck. I remember grinding the very first map and burgertown, "When Atlas dropped the bomb they hoped to end the war...instead..? They unleashed the biggest freak show on earth."
If we're talking zombie game shows, it happens in quite a few movies too. Land of the Dead has one. It's sorta just a representation of the world going to hell, as people basically turn to dogfighting with humans for fun.
this game allows a terrifying glimpse into true horror. it shows you a fate worse than death that makes you want to crawl under a rock and cry at the indifference and cruel irony of the universe. you play this entire game as a british person.
whats really interesting is that the fire killed the zombie before you used the syringe to save yourself at 20:22 , i wonder if fire could save you if you didn't have the syringe because the death animation is much faster with no syringe fuel than if you did
You're on track to have an explosive channel my guy; I enjoy the content, its different. Nice watching someone else play games on max difficulty and talk about it. I got into this type of thing with Mass Effect trilogy; I did my very first playthrough on every game on Insanity.
God, this brings back some old memories, especially when I played it on both Wii-U and PS4 port and did the survivor mode. First time was paranoia, second time was a lot more fun except... well that arena was a bit*h to deal with. The palace was pretty cool and the mad dash at the castle was fun when you are stocked with a crap ton of ammo At least on my PS4 playthrough, I could replace the bat with the shovel, I just remember not having it equipped and then able to make the change.. that's weird 😅
I was a really enjoying my playthrough of Zombi and them I had a large horde in the street. I lined up a molotov from some scaffolding and BOOM hit a tiny piece of the environment right beside me and nuked my character. I was so frustrated I couldn't bring myself to continue with a new character. Was my first death in the game after like 2 to 3 days of playing.
I know Dead Rosing 2 had the TIR mode which is the Terror Is Reality mode what's was Mario Party like mini games you could play vs other players for fun you didn't get anything aside from certain trophies for playing it my favorite game more was Master Shafter it was a mini game based on trying to catch a zombie on a Lance you're given and up to 4 players can try to catch 1 zombie and you got more points if you're the fastest at button sequences (I got really good at it) and the badass way you beat up all the other players then catch the zombie on the Lance effortlessly was always cool
I got this game the day it launched on Wii U and came very close to beating it on the permadeath the same day. Died on the last level or near the last level because of the zombies that have some kind of explosive tank on them. I assumed that shooting them on any part of their body but the tank would avoid making them explode, I was wrong. It really pissed me off
I had to repeat Normal for god knows how many time before I even tried Survivor, and even then it took me three tries to finish it. Here's what I can tell in terms of tips and tricks: 1. Don't bother about throwables. They're more likely to kill you than the zombies. 2. Save food, especially the cakes. They're the same as the medium medkit, and way easier to find. 3. The starting pistol is your best friend. It's reliable, and the silenced version is ass anyway. 4. Scan the zombies. It'll mark them for you. 5. Take your time and watch what kind of zombies you're facing. The gas tank zombie will instakill you in Survivor. 6. Save your best guns for last. The assault rifle is godlike for the last mission. 7. Keep your cool.
Dead Island also did the arena thing as well which shouldn't be a surprise as that game were made by the same people who made Dying Light but the situation of the arena fight in Dead Island was completely different.
The jank put me off of this game, I got to the Buckingham Palace turret section without a scratch, cleared the zombies with the turret no problem and then spent like 20 minutes inside the Palace before the game crashed on me. It sent me right back to just before the turret section and this time the turret glitched and the zombies got up to me no issue while I was stuck on it unable to kill anything
Those invisible scuba diver zombies which swim up to you and blow you up in one shot were a cause of frustration for me. Yeah the game was a bit janky but it was very fun
I just save scummed when I got this achievement. Kept backing up the save to a USB stick and simply copying it back over and trying from my last save if I ever died.
THANK YOU FOR COVERING MY FAVORITE WII-U GAME! sure they ruined the port of the game, but the original was classic, especially the multiplayer mode! Thank you for covering this game, your amazing! ;W; I thought this game was forgotten, I'm glad I was wrong...
The reason you can't swap your main weapons out, is because in the Wii-U version, you could repeatedly drop your gun and die, and get another, and the update they released to patch it didn't fix it, so they made it so you cannot move or edit them.
Dead Rising 2 would fit the zombie game show bit. The very start of Dead Rising 2 has you play some mini-games in a show called "Terror is Reality" that is broadcasted nation-wide.
I have been looking for someone to do this for zombie u and you did it. Thank you if you don't mind doing this for 'fear and hunger' that would be amazing.
Yeah, even without playing the game I knew that molotov throw was 100% going to hit you. Never, ever, ever expect a molotov to go where you want it. Glad you learned your lesson.
