Thats the kind of a box you wanna open 10-20 years down the line. That is why 151 boxes will pretty expensive in the future.

Well, in Japan.....IT IS COMMON for the retail stores and Pokemon center to remove the shrink wrap because its their way of "fighting" people who only purchase to resell. Pokemon center is selling 151 in BOXES now and 5 boxes per person but they remove the shrink wrap when you buy it. I'll post a video of them doing it.

I totally get that, you walk in a shop to buy and they take off the wrap to prevent reselling. But then are we assuming people walk around buying their limit of boxes from pokemon center or shops, and then building their supply up by the thousands to sell to resellers? I'm sure people do it, just seems like high risk to me, and we don't know how many transactions were made with that box, how many hands it passed through to get to you. Then there's tons of shops in US that are easily getting boxes by the thousands with shrink on. That just seems like a lot less risk to me. I assume they are getting direct from a shop in japan that buys hundreds/thousands of cases direct from pokemon.

I can't see any boxes on the website, only single packs with a maximum of 10 per customer. I ordered 10 last Monday and just now ordered 10 more.

They have boxes of all the other sv sets, but they are limiting it to 10 packs (half box) of 151 to get it out to the most customers and stifle reselling.

What an amazing box! You might as well announce your retirement from the Pokémon TCG hobby now! You’ve reached the summit! It’s going to be tough to top this one (at least with any recent set). As for non-shrink wrapped Japanese booster boxes, like others have already commented, it’s common for shops in Japan to remove the wrapping to deter re-selling. What I haven’t seen mentioned, however, and I feel is worth highlighting, is that shrink wrap removal is something Pokémon Centers do. They rip it off in front of the customer at the time of purchase. This practice is one reason why you sometimes see sellers of unwrapped boxes on Yahoo! Auctions and Mercari and similar websites in Japan include a photo of their receipt.

Seriously, still on a high from that, any other opening will just be a let down. Yes, I understand that if you buy a box from PC in person, or a shop, they may take the shrink off, but generally you're buying a box or a few, if they allow.. so then, I guess we assume that person is going and flipping it to someone else, or that person is a flipper, so they're going around buying that way by the thousands to sell on the US market? That seems like a lot of boxes that would have to be bought and flipped that way to supply a big seller. If they're just getting like 5 and flipping them, then they're risky too, because they have no store or reputation to protect. Seems like a huge risk to me. Then you have shops that seem to have no issues getting large quantities with shrink on. I imagine they are getting right from a shop who is buying thousands of cases direct from Pokemon, since I understand there are no distributors in Japan, its just PKM to Shop direct. This seems like minimal hand changing of the boxes, which should be massively less risky. It's all risky though.

I just received my box of 151 from Cali pokey house and right off the bat. The shrink wrap is supposedly one of the giveaways that it’s a fake box .. says the rap cut line is supposed to be under the tear tab.. if it’s directly on the tear tab overlapping then it’s a fake box and that’s exactly how mine is.. I figured they would be a little more respectable but it seems fishy .. I wish I had someway to confirm this so I can start a return process if it’s true they’re selling fake boxes.

Can you post clear images of the box and ask on a Reddit Page, like PokemonTCG. This way I and others can see the images and guide you. I have ordered eight 151 booster boxes from "Calipokehouse" now and some other japanese booster boxes; I don't see anything wrong with any of them I have sealed and the ones I've opened were good. Be sure it's Calipokehouse and not an imposter.

Ivysaur !! Sorry I haven't commented lately! I just moved from moncton new brunswick to kitchener ontario! Huge move! But now I'm surrounded by card shops. I finally pulled morpeko from paradox! I have 12 to go! We got a bunch of 151 hits we just have the regular exs left and the charizard full art. So close. The mall sells the Japanese packs. Will pick some up soon

Since I have an online shop, I generally only pay attention to shop's singles cards. I don't recall ever seeing anyone sell booster boxes for anything close to the deals you can get online. The shops I go to in the area are Triangle Area Trading Cards and Big Boy Gaming (They go to the shows at the Fairgrounds and have the best prices (for singles they match lowest verified price on tcgplayer), but their shop is a drive and if they're at a show, all their singles will be too (so have to call in advance). I've been meaning to check out Underworld and Hidden Block in Raleigh, so I don't know what they have. I went to Vaulted a long time ago and everything was double retail (he seemed to buy at retail and flip, imo) and I didn't like his singles prices, but I've been meaning to go back and see if anything's changed since he moved location to Apex.

Packs can be slid out the sides, because only the front is sealed. You're probably fine if you trust the seller, but I personally find it risky. I also think no shrink makes weighing for god packs easier.

Awesome pulls. In my first two boxes i got one Erikas invitation, one charmander, one wartortle, two bulbasaurs, a psyduck and a nidoking SIR. 5 and 6 ex cards also in each of those. No luck on the masterballs though, I got a pikachu pokeball reverse in both boxes and almost had a heart attack but then dissaipointment set in lol. I would have squirtle instead of wartortle though, so I had all 3. Hoping for light packs full of hits. I'll try to get 10 more from pokemoncenter online on Monday.

Ya, I feel like I should redo the math with the god packs factored in. If we say 1 in 800 packs, we're looking at 1 per 40 boxes. It's only going to add a few bucks to the Average value pulled, so maybe we'll call it $48-50 in value on average, which is not much more then I estimated.

Japan will take off shrink wrap for places like Best Buy equivalent but will do it in front of your eyes to prevent or mitigate resale and deter mass purchase. Japan tries hard to restrict limited product to kids depending on scarcity. But if I lived in America, there’s no way I would trust a wrap free box
