@@tkbaku3036 I am kinda curious how of the worst defenders managed to get selected to NBA All-Defensive Second Team three times. Larry Bird may not have been a great one-on-one defender like Scottie Pippen or Dennis Rodman, but Bird could steal from the other team by playing passing lanes.
Why would Shaq win?! He's dominant as hell, yes, but his defence is significantly weaker than that of Bill, Kareem, and, of course, Hakeem. He struggles with his shot, slower. Honestly, only Kareem or Hakeem are the only bigs that would be able to win a 1v1 tournament like this.
@@KidDynamite25 prime Shaq was still a great defender on top of being completely unstoppable on offense. He was second in defensive player of the year voting during his MVP season. This is while playing in an era with the more elite big men on defense than any other... and when it comes to offense they literally changed the illegal defense rule because it was impossible to defend him 1 on 1. This is a 1 on 1 tournament. Shaq's 99-00 year is pretty much unmatched.
This was fun to watch but also reminds me of why I dont play this game anymore. There's absolutely no way some of these bigs would be as agile as they are. Everyone in this game can move like a guard. For example, there's no way a prime Kobe wouldn't be able to blow by Giannis and hit a step back and have Giannis glued to him every time. Also Shaq hitting fadeaway jumpers? 😂 Not saying Kobe would win, it's just nowhere how I think it would play out in real life. Still really cool to watch.
Kobe absolutely can score on giannis on this game, but Kobe absolutely cannot guard giannis, since whoever scores keeps the ball, Kobe is never going to get the ball, would not even have the chance to do a step back or anything like that
@@jinpachi2335I love Kobe but I don’t see how it’s possible for him to gaurd Giannis. Giannis is just a better version of Shaq. Not as big but faster with better ball handling so he can gaurd guards, run past them, or back them down. Where as Kobe’s skills made him elite which means a prime mvp level Giannis is not giving Kobe the chance to have the ball if he starts the game with the ball.
They can't and/or won't. Coz the losers could lose heavily in this. Not only will they lose the game if ever, but imagine the scrutiny from the people especially in social media. It also has the potential for a guy to lose some value/stock if ever, which could potentially affect their career, business-wise. Not to mention, not all players invited will certainly agree to this, probably because of the stuff that I've just mentioned.
It's funny watching the go-to playstyle of everyone is trying to work the ball into the paint against the most dominant big men to ever live. I think Steph was the only one programmed to attempt a 3. It's also just really weird how speed/agility seems to be pretty equal, like you're telling me Shaq can defend Giannis starting at the arc?
@@KidDynamite25 he could definitely beat bird, birds game revolves around getting open, and in a 1 on 1 game, he isnt getting open. Kobe on the other hand invites contact, and has built his game around scoring with contact
I'm a huge kobe fan but I'm sorry guys giannis will cook them both, kobe will definitely have more than zero point that's for sur but still lose, giannis is like shaq with mj speed there is nothing you can do in one on one match up, you need a team to stop him
@@mikeehrmantraut5801 kobe has stopped people faster than MJ (allen iverson) and someone just as strong as shaq (dwight howard) giannis will be forced to drive every time, and kobe can stop him before he gets to the paint, you're talking about the man that locked up stephen curry
You can do what you want, but saying Bill Russell can't keep up with the new guys is just wrong. And disqualifying a whole group just cause you think they stunk is well, dumb, arbitrary, and against spirit of the tourney. Maybe they just both had good defense...
Bill Russell was ridiculously great for his Era. He was a tremendous player and person whose contributions to both basketball and the civil rights movement can never be overlooked. Embiid would annihilate him.
@@conorcasey4233 You had me in the first half no lie 😂 Embiid is a monster no doubt That said, an aging Al Horford can shut Embiid down. You don't think Bill Russell can?
NBA 2K should seriously put on a huge 1 on 1 tourney with NBA players, so they can validate their simulation is most accurate. People would pay for that, so it'd be free R&D.
Kareem no shy hook? Which is unstoppable and Shaq just backing down in the paint is unstoppable. These are the two i would have thought to be in the finals.
The issue with shaq is that starting at the arc he is not gonna defend giannis or other players that are significantly faster than him. I thought giannis would win because he physically dominates every player here besides shaq and would be a better defender than shaq.
@@lukakaps9548 Giannis is not even a true "7-footer". He is not physically dominating David Robinson, who is just as fast, stronger, and bigger. Especially not Wilt, who is just as fast, bigger, and WAY stronger. Giannis would have a decent chance if his outside shot was hitting.
The game is incapable of having players move and shoot like real people. Thats why you get dumb crap like them stopping and shooting a leaning away floater when they could do a normal layup. It's trash.
Vid idea all mvps on one team all rookie of the year all on the same team All finals mvps on one team and all players with no rings on the same team pls make it happen ❤❤
i agree kobe will have some points, but chances are that Giannis will win, kobe is not stopping Giannis from getting inside, Giannis in the other hand can slow down kobe enough to make him miss.
@davidares286 defence is not just blocking the ball. Giannis would get cooked Kobe is too smart and too lethal. He'd pat him after and say nice try young fella.

You should do a video of this but in like a league format. That way they can all go against each other once and whoever has the better W/L record wins the ultimate MVP title
@@lookworm_ well I mean in the "playoff seed" format you can get uneven matchups like a tall center vs a small guard and it won't be fair to the shorter player meaning it won't give him a proper "ranking" I guess. With the league format, they'll have a chance to against other players their size and make their ranking a little more accurate. It would justify like what Michael Jordan said once in a press conference when they asked him if he's the GOAT and he replied something like "Look, I played in an era where there was no Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson, Lebron James, Yannis etc and can't call myself the GOAT because of that." I feel like the league format would kind of give a boost in the MVP accuracy and actually show who would be the GOAT in some sense.
That Dream vs MJ had me invested... always said we would've gotten the Bulls in 7 games in 1994 Finals if MJ didn't retire & we got a Bulls v Rockets match up 🚀🚀🚀
I was a very dominant 1 on 1 player in my late teens. I'd beat nearly everyone I faced and extremely badly. Never played pro or tried to but I remember this one guy who gave me a lot of trouble. He was huge and athletic, similar skill level to me but the size advantage made it so hard. He had a big strength advantage so it was hard to drive on him or stop him when he had the ball. I was shocked at the loss I took, it wasn't even close. It was that day I realized just how big of a factor size is 1v1.
Bird is the most savage player in NBA history (not to be confused with the best in nba history). Dude would consistently tell the other team exactly what he was gonna do and it didn't matter. Giannis is built for 1v1, but 22-0 is straight blasphemy.
Video idea: make a trios tournament and everyteam consists of one years mvp, final mvp and rookie of the year so 1984 rookie, mvp and final mvp play against 2023 rookie mvp and final mvp(if the mvp and final mvp the same then choose another player from that team)
I enjoyed the video! The games can't or don't animate some of the things that make some of these guys so dominant. I saw no sky hooks from Kareem (one baby hook.) He would have shot 75% sky hooks in a real tournament. Same with the Dream Shake from Hakeem. He probably would have only done 40-50% because of his other moves. And Jordan, well, there's a lot.
