Welcome to my daily vlogs at the Mabuhay Squad Farm House! We'll be your daily dose of positive vibes online! I upload a new video every two or three days at 7AM EST!
Vlog edited by Jeah Yason
For business inquiries: mikeyjbustos@gmail.com
About Me:
My bio is pretty random: In short, I am a professional singer/songwriter from Toronto, Canada who moved to Manila, Philippines which sorta became my Hollywood because my first RU-vid channel MIKEYBUSTOSVIDEOS grew popular due to Filipino comedy videos. Meanwhile, I'm also a big biology geek who is obsessed with ants, so I built an internationally operating ant business supported by another popular channel called ANTSCANADA, and well basically, today I travel and tour around the world doing what I love so I wanted to start this vlogging channel, in hopes to encourage you guys to follow your dreams no matter how random, by showing you what happened when I followed mine! You just never know where life will take you when you listen to the yearnings of your heart!

Mikey if u wanna keep those lizards you will have to add more branches in the topfloors of the aviary, not only will it benefit the lizards, but the birds as well. The bigger the sailfins get the more chance there is for them to eat eggs and smaller animals. Yes they are adapted to drop from big heights, but in the forest floor the ground is a lot softer

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but sailfins will absolutely go after a bird if it was inclined. I work in a a zoo with a large freeroaming rainforest and we've had multiple instances of amboinensis eating birds. We have removed them since. Colleagues also report similar interactions, all are typically adult males.

Yeah on his ants canada account he has a dwarf crocodilian in his large vivarium tank called “Pandora” he says that he will move the crocadillian once it grows out of the tank into the pond under the bridge he has outside the mansion, now that pond has multiple fish and animal species. It’s not gated so his dogs or any visiting family or guests could approach the pond. The pond currently doesn’t have a embankment or whatever it’s called its like a slope that you need for the crocodilian to crawl out of the water and sunbath.

Kuya Mikey, regarding the chicks enclosure. Try to find a cage similar to the bamboo cages that you have on your coop, but its slits should be narrow enough to keep the newly hatched chicks in. And the inside should be big enough to house mama hen and chicks. That's what we do in our farm for the first month of the chicks' life. When we see that they are sturdy enough, we will introduce them to the rest of the flock. We usually keep the chicks and mama hen inside of that enclosure for around 6 weeks. At around 4-5 weeks, we separate the mama hen because by then the chicks are old enough to maintain their own body temperature. In the case of your chicks hatched from the incubator, you can still house them in those cages, just install a heating bulb inside.

Hey Mikey, You mentioned a few days ago about putting soil in the aviary, A suggestion I would make instead of soil, as soil is difficult to remove for cleaning up. How about something like Reptibark, which is safe reptile mulch, but, even more than reptiles, birds can also be housed with it. In fact, Quail do ok on it. The Quail would benefit from havinf an area of really fine grain sand, actually so would the finches, birds eat sand to help with digestion. The good thing about mulch is that it can raise the humidity and keep it balanced better and it can also house the insects you put in the aviary for food for the Sailfin Lizards as well as the birds. Birds eat insects to. And the mulch (Reptibark), is safe for the birds to. The really good thing with the mulch is that it's easy to clean the animal waste up from rather than hosing down the aviary daily. With mulch you could also make the aviary bioactive, which would also be another natural foodsource for the lizards as well as the birds. Adding a tall branchy tree like you had with the parrots, would really benefit the birds and any lizards you add to the aviary. More Sailfin Lizards would be AWESOME. Definitely create a more natural water feature for them though so they can have that extra place of comfort and security. It's Great to see the Aviary Evolve into more!!!!!!!!! Matt - Toronto, Canada

So I happened upon this video and got super excited about an aviary with reptiles. Two things I love, birds and reptiles. Within seconds of starting the video I was like "GASP I know that voice!" Dude, your home and yard is like heaven to me. My bachelors degree is in Avian Science. I've always lived in a home with a lot of animals (nothing like the numbers you have, but we have 4 cats, a dog, 2 bearded dragons, 2 leopard geckos, 2 doves, 2 green cheek conures, 1 parakeet, and I have 12 freshwater aquariums in just my room. But this is in just a regular 2 story family house. Don't even have a big yard. Your house and yard is heaven.

I have a tree shared by agama lizards, blue jays, squirrels and doves. The larger lizards actually enjoy watching the crazy animals running up and down, searching for food! But for the baby lizards, I made an area of oak branches and leafy shrubs, keeping the smaller branches intact as they provide shelter for smaller lizards. As the babies grow in size and confidence, they begin venturing into the adult zone. That’s a great idea, to keep the insects in a bin for feeding. You’ll only have to show the lizards once! What a beautiful enclosure you have!
@YochevedDesigns
@YochevedDesigns 18 дней назад
Oooh, sailfins are so cool! You are so lucky. The lizards definitely need a designated basking spot with a UV light. You can't rely on sunlight that comes through glass, it won't be enough. If they have a warm spot, you use it to train them to go there to eat as well. (I really don't like Jay. He torments his snakes in order to get them to act dramatic for the camera.)
@JohnKrasinksi

A little advice as a sailfin dragon keeper,Dont pick them up by the back,Pick them in front of their face and slide ur hand under them. Another piece of advice,Sailfins are insectivorous as juvies(urs are juvy) and will need to eat more insects as juvies to subadult. But be mindful that they will need fruits/greens on a weekly basis so they may grow their sails. My favourite to feed - mangos,kangkong,saluyot,banana. As adults they will be more greens than insects. Happy keeping! You should really start a conservation project of native reptiles/educate people of native reptiles - would be a fun project to do

Dude, you may have released those dragons too early. You should have trained them to eat in one spot while in a cage at exactly same time at least for a month before releasing so they would know were to go when they are hungry, and making sure that their feeding spot is not accessible by the birds since they have the same food choices.

Please don't release them into the open pond, or worse, into the wild. They may be native to the Philippines, but each ecosystem is different, and if there are no sailfin lizards in your area, releasing them there would disrupt the ecosystem there.

Sailfin dragons live naturally in trees above river streams or ponds. They jump into the water when scared by a predator. It can be a problem when they bask in the sun and jump down the whole enclosure on the hard floor. I hope this won't be an issue🤷‍♂️

Good afternoon Mikey and RJ, What a find with the outside egg! It would be so cool if it was a monitor egg, but then again, a pyhton would be awesome as well. ^^ Did you ever find that hole in the outside aviary where the wild birds got in? The male phazant is super cool ... but that female ... maybe not in colors, but the pattern of her feathers is amazing! So sharp and defined, so cool. 🤎 Loving the Sail Fins in the indoor aviary, they are so cute. Glad the birds are not afraid of them and they not worried about the birds. Congrats on the 4 new chicks as well. I hope the outside chicks will, indeed, be able to grow to adulthood, seeiing as how they are more adjusted to the enviroment. Good luck mama chicken. I definitly got my wonderfull positive vibes shot again.💖 Happy thoughts and vibes back to you both from Frisia❣💛

Sailfin lizards are opportunistic hunters and I've seen videos of them eating their own kind! Given the opportunity they can probably hunt birds. I'd say the 60ft pond would be better for them as they have more water surface area to do their iconic "running" on water, but they coupd probably escape, idk❤
