I work for the CS at the moment and please - tell them again! You’re not hired to actually use your skills or really think about solutions to problems…you’re just hired to do what Ministers tell you to do and it becomes ridiculous.
That's the whole point of the Civil Service: to be the administrative arm of Government. At the highest level you might have some influence over Ministers (see comedy Yes Prime Minister) but lower down you are just a cog in the wheel.
I love this! Sometimes things are not as they seem and although I don’t know you, I’m proud that you felt comfortable to follow your gut and build your career your way. At the end of the day the only person who’s gonna live your life is you and it’s great you’re doing a role that is fulfilling 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Yes, yes, yes. Evidence vs policy ...... collar and cuffs don't always match !🤔. Learning & application...... becoming a jack of all trades...... master of none!
Thank you so much for this video! Im a student who is really interested in going into policy and becoming an 'expert' in something. I'm really hoping I'll be able to do something similar to what you have done!
Felicia, you have integrity and high standards. I commend you for removing yourself from an environment that was not right for you. Anyone working for Boris Johnson must has some level of internal conflict. No excusing his shady behaviour. I see you presenting economics on Dispatches (ch4 documentary) or similar show in the future. Does this interest you at all?
