Danny I salute you, you are a beast with an awesome attitude. Pets department is no joke, those 50+ pound bags are serious. The cat litter is heavy and dense as hell and getting it on the shelf is no easy task. Hauling around a pallet that weighs in excess of 1000 pounds with a hand jack takes it toll. I'm sure they regret letting you go, it's not easy finding people that can handle that kind of workload. Respect.
Some people don't understand what it is like to work at Walmart. Some of those pallets are stacked way over your head. I have even had to get on a ladder to get stuff off the top. The fun part is trying to pull out a pallet and it not being stacked right and all of it falling. I've seen juice being pulled out and next thing you know it is pouring all over the floor. I worked 3rds several years ago. I now work Cap 1. A lot less stress.
Exactly. I worked for a year and a half doing overnight stocking there. The pallets would be 7 feet tall sometimes. And the floors would already be stocked. But they would get all over your ass about putting it out anyway. That was the worst job I ever had. It’s hard to work at Walmart.

I stock the pets and I swear to god these Walmart managers are never satisfied even when you finish your work they’re NEVER satisfied, they always got some dumb shit to say like you need to do this faster but I work faster than any of them and they’re still never satisfied with your work

Thats what heb is like. I just quit my overnight stocking job and I've been there 1 month. I used to be stocking all night which I liked, but then they started making front and block like 4 fucking aisles entirely by myself on purpose so everyone could get out earlier and because I was the new guy. Bunch of fucking dicks heads. Go to heb and look how long the aisles and imagine somebody having to pull all the shit to the front of the shelf both sides of the aisles and have to do that 3 more times in 3 more whole aisles aaaall night until 7 am. I basically wasn't even a stocker anymore

All together that was like 2 and 1/2 aisles while the support(ass manager) and 3 of her friends zoned the chip and soda aisle. Which is hardly anything cuz all you worry about is the great value stuff. FYI to anybody who doesn’t know what zoning is, it’s when you pull everything on the shelf forward to make it look full

Lol I worked for Walmart for 2 and a half years as a frozen/dairy stocker and it was a piece of shit job. I remember busting my ass for $12.35 an hour back in 2014 - 2016 then one day my co-worker in frozen got fired for too much no call no shows and I had to throw 12-14 hours of freight in frozen by myself for 2 months straight. Walked out and quit one night after I went in and management called me into the office and bitched at me for not stocking the frozen meat in the meat department the night before which I couldn't get to cause my partner got fired and I had no help for 2 months straight lol!
Yep welcome to Walmart. I’m on Cap2 and we have to unload the truck and stock GM. Even when we had to stock Grocery we still had to do paper, chemicals, pets, infants, and HBA. It doesn’t make sense w the volume in my store for us to touch grocery until overnight just because of wall to wall people. We now have cap2 doing all of GM. Overnight is less than half the staff of cap2. So it looks like Walmart’s ultimate plan is to have cap2 stock everything..
I just started workin there so I've been doin my research appreciate the video. Will see how long i last its not the worst but far from great either problem w me is they won't be able to brainwash me because I've always been my own person. As long as they let me chill and dont pull some bs will be fine it depends on the store just like with anywhere and who you can all tolerate while you're there wish me luck..
I just quit after my first day. After many reviews and hands on with other people. It's not worth it. Many people told me to ride the wave but I'm not gonna be in a place that feels as shitty as that

@@rachelr375 I'm starting my 4th day a couple days from now. I've been left on an aisle alone a few times to stock, or top stock. When I got done id just stand around waiting for a manager to come check on me, but eventually I just went into the back and asked someone what I should be doing. And tbh it seems like that's just how the job goes a lot of the time. I was with someone who had worked there for 4 months and he told me he just finds the shift lead anytime he doesn't know what to do. So I guess I'm gonna just have to get used to asking people what to do lol. I'm gonna stick it out though. It's good pay and I definitely prefer it to fast food jobs. Subway was really easy, but the schedule was inconsistent and I was always getting calls in the early hours of the morning asking me to come in, or I'd be ask to work 12 hours shifts. At one point I worked 15 days in a row and every day was a 12 hour shift. At least with Walmart I get paid more, and I know when I'll be working.

Im older than probably most of you commenting on here nearing 40.. and i dont take no sht from team leads or coachs. I already told them this and they know to not put me on registers and not boss me around like im one of the 17 year old kids. In fact those kids are now amazed at me, mentioning im the first person theyve seen to put my foot down right in front of managment and associates. Its about respect, i will respect the team leads and coachs, if they respect me.. If theyre disrespectful i will be right back.. In fact during orientation the HR lady was very rude to me and i already fired back at her and they were shocked i did this the first day. Its not that i have a bad attitude, but i do not like people in power who think they can talk down to you. The team leads are ppl my age or a tad younger.. mid 20-30s im 37.. and i noticed they act like they have some huge power over me.. When i asked for today off because i was dizzy and not feeling good, they pushed me to just sit iin the break room and drink water and keep working.. God forbid my health is less important than ZONING toys on a shelf If they want to fire me for this go for it, its a sht job anyway.
Sorry to hear about your experience with Walmart, i worked as an Overnight Stocker/Team Lead for 14 years at a different grocery company and I took the opportunity as the Overnight Support Manager for 2 years, i wish i took on this role long time ago because that position helped me through life and stability, it is a big role and responsibility but its your best chance at having a good life those who work during nights, i had many opportunities to work as the OSM after 4 years of being ON Stocker, but i just took on the team lead role for almost 10 years, and now I am a Department Manager for 3 years now for Meats, Deli, and Bakery.
i never worked at the stores before but i worked at the distribution center or the warehouse for walmart and i quit after 6 months. they give you impossible goals and they wonder why people are constantly quitting.
Place is a 💩 show to work. Only time I walked off a job. Literally wasn't worth the BS. No training, supervision, nothing. Told to do 8 hrs of freezer work, stocking without any idea of what or how to do it. I was told I would be pricing, doing features and training my first week. The manager lied, hid and I could within just hours see the nightmare of what they were after. It's one thing to be hired for a position and quite another to be used by a manager as an untrained pack mule. I'm a big guy, not afraid of hard work. But im 54, not 24 and if you hired me to be something thats fine...just dont BS me and leave me standing around like a chump.
Our manager says passive aggressively if you need to take care of family business or have a family emergency that interferes with work that's great, family comes first, but this might not be the right job for you.
I used to work in cap 2, was stocking pets for 5 month. I would kill 5 pallets under 4 hours. I hated it, All of the asm would not appreciate my work , I switched to night shifts now. Stocking Gm. It’s way better ! Everybody works together as a team
Nice video thanks. I got a job night stocking and so far I've done three shifts. I've only had a box cutter for half of one shift and it makes things a lot less efficient not having one. Fortunately I'm still new so the manager hasn't said anything to me yet but when I work tomorrow night I'm gonna do so much better.
At my store I work at the management made almost all the overnight stockers at my store switch to cap 2 now the overnight is just zoners like 7-8 people not counting cashiers/maintenance . They either said switch to cap 2 (2-11) or quit. They kept the overnighters that zoned the aisles well, but I quited Walmart in good terms since they wanted me to work part-time cap 2.
I work overnights at hyvee and we recently had all of our managers out with covid at the same time. we are supposed to have about 10 people each truck night normally but with them gone we were lucky to have 8. Frozen section ended up being offloaded to daytime workers for two weeks because by the time we loaded Grocery, pet, and chemical, we had already been there for 10 hours. Things would go a lot faster if we didn't have every aisle mixed together on each pallet. having rice, flour, oil, and general merchandise on top of all your pet pallets that you need to haul around really is a time waster.
THIS. If every pallet wasn’t mixed or 3 stories tall it’d make our jobs all the more better. I be finding my stuff in 3 different pallets. One time it was 5. My God. It’s nerve wracking when it’s at the bottom

Im a css at walmart and it fucking sucks some days I have like 2 cashiers and a bunch of people spitting fire on us, we are over stressed some days. Yesterday was slow and I had like 7 cashiers, I don't understand how they do the schedules but they suck. Good Luck
In our store. Pets is the dumping ground for all trash, stolen items, and claims. I found a receipt with the store manager we had last year, yesterday. I was hired on during a period of time where we had no Store manager They sent people to our store to kill their careers, especially if they put them on Overnights. (My shift) That said, I’m Mod Team. I get harassed daily and management laughs in my face about it. Course this is the same place that denied me my benefits, pathways raise, and 90 day evaluation. Gotta say.. Walmart is a terrible company. They work us like pack mules on third. All so other shifts can screw off. Our store manager also claims to hate holes so he undoes everything I do when he tells someone to plug up the empty spots.
I’m in pets as we speak, overnight…normally get 9 pallets, always manage to finish 10 hrs of work in 8 lol worst days are when I have about 14 pallets, then they expect me to zone, and I do lol
I’ve stocked pets for 5 years and I was the department manager until team leads rolled out. For some reason people are intimidated by this department but once you build up strength and know where everything goes it’s hella fun.
Overnight stocking can be a hard job tbh, but I feel like it depends on the store you work for. I worked at Ralph’s and ralphs only has like 2 stockers for GM and 3 for grocery. While at the Walmart, you have at least a team of 14 . Only bad thing about Walmart is that the pallets are messed up and not organized properly. And managers are D heads unless your lucky and have nice ones. They also except you to work super fast even tho your busting your azz off already
I’m planning to do overnight stocking for while because when I have money ready for a house I’m in a market to get those type of multi family unit where I can rent one out and live other because once I finally rent the back one out and making me banks from it I will quit this job and retire early and have nice income/ new job.

I stocked pets a few times overnight and I hated it especially the breakpacks , I would take the breakpacks and at the end of the shift I would hide them in the warehouse still full.🤣I never knew if they found them or not because nothing was ever said. I left Wally back in 2013 and never looked back.

Yea I worked cap 2 until the new casino opened up near me. It's a fun job time flys but not for me. I know am a bar back and bartender at a hard rock casino. Still moving pallets but in a more fun environment altogether.
I got hired for hardware, but work in sportings and toys since they are close to my department, it’s really stressful especially when I’m left by myself because 2 or more call out cuz this corona thing

Ive been in soada water juice alone the every week for the last 9 months i hardly get help too i am pushed beyond limit. And nights when im tired and sore i get told to pick up the speed they threaten to coach me well theres slackers on the shift who get help and away with stuff. The overnight coach made me do 7 pallets last night barley got done then thought i had time to zone the aisle too afterwords making me bin the shit now add that up printing the stickers going back in that disaster back room gotta find make space move shit i still had a bin of cardboard and plastic Do not work for them i am cashing out too after 3 years they treat you like shit and expect you to bust you're ass every night
I was trying to get my Job back overnight's it's been 6 months since I've been suspended I had so many points 4-5 of them was from the beginning of the 1st week I didn't have a Set schedule & didn't find out until I was fire Dam it . So many points but I was always there Before work, after work, on my days off Sundawn till Sunrise.

I usedto work PT overnite stocker at walmart in Mt. Airy MD. I met alot of awesome people there We had good overnite mgrs and they were once aw week -buying us poppoa johns or Dominos Pizza for Lunch/dinner -if not that we would BBQ out side the lunch room! How Cool? I aways worked Housewares- automotive and paper chemicals that order. I only left when I was moving to WV- Do I miss my old job? Yeah----Do I miss the people I worked with? HELL Yeah!!!!

You will probably be fired for being pointed out and on top of that, they might put job abandonment and you being ineligible to rehired. I am not eligible to be rehired and looking back, me being fired for failing to turn in $100 honestly that I found that I forgot to turn in, being fired from Walmart and having less stress from there is probably the best thing for me. Its a lesson learned to turn money in as soon as you find it or just don't touch it at all. The customer called and they saw the camera and I was fired. The cops were not called since I gave the money back. I was not banned from shopping there either. I won unemployment and was only unemployed 18 days, but the new job screwed me over by not giving me enough hours, but yet hiring new associates and saying they don't have enough hours to give me and when they do, it was when they felt like it and saying I wasn't working efficently and if I have go backs that go on aisle 1, why should I wait till the end at store closing to put them back when I'm already there? I was getting hours when they felt like it at the new job, so I went back to the one I had before Walmart.
