I AM SO PROUD OF YOU! I love that you love God, and have faith in Him... You're a breath of fresh air!!!! I run my first half-marathon this Sunday coming so I'll head to the store Friday to get those goo's... God bless much love, love your channel.
I'm preparing for my first half marathon in November in Brussels (Belgium), and really quite excited about it, obviously. I've taken part in two 10k races as part of the prep, and I can soooooo relate to the 'going all out' for the last stretch before the finish line, and just WISH I can do something similar at the end of the half marathon as well. That feeling was intense! You described it perfectly! Thank you for sharing.
this has absoultely inspired me to run a half marathon at some point in the near future! my mum does one once a year & i always wanna do it with her!!🥰✨
This is a great video. I am doing my first half tomorrow. It will be a practice one before the Lola Challenge in Puerto Rico in August. These points are what I am going away with. I am relaxing today but its on tomorrow :) thanks.
@@alexisleetrevino It was thrilling, humbling, fun, painful, and so rewarding. I wanted to see what it felt like before I do one in August. So I really appreciate this video becuase I re-fueled with the packs every 3.5 miles and it was so beneficial. I learned a lot and I am so happy I came across this video beforehand. Thanks
So very proud of you!!! When I saw you push yourself at the finish line stretch…. How exciting…. I couldn’t stop cheering you on and the endurance and stamina you put forward was just exactly what you shared on your video!! I love your videos the truth is sometimes hard but what you talk about us real! Love you ❤🐻
Thanks for sharing!!! This was so inspiring. Congratulations :) Running my first in March and I'm nervous but excited 😊🤗 I ran my first 5K in November and once I saw the last marker, I just sprinted. Like you said, I felt empowered and knew it wouldn't be my last race. Hope you keep running 💨
Congratulations! I too, just did a hal-marathon last Saturday and it was tough on the last miles. But, I kept telling myself I can do this. The last time I ran a half-marathon, was in 2010. So, I trained myself, little by little. I am looking forward to another run in May. 👍
Which half is this? I just ran my first half (Brooklyn half). It rained through the race, was cold and windy and the course was 4 damn loops of the very hilly park. Still managed to finish in 2.24. P.S. not a runner either and aiming for NYC next year.
Inspirational stuff and great video! It is so true that breaking out of the comfort crisis is soooo important for personal success especially in running.
You can do it! First 5k is still a huge achievement, going up from there! So happy you love the video! I appreciate your feedback and I’m cheering you on!! Remember it’s a mental game!
Great job!!! I highly recommend getting a Garmin watch for running. Forerunner 965 is probably the best for running. I have the Fenix 7X Pro and it's amazing. The furthest I've run was a 10k for Thanksgiving last month. There's a half marathon nearby that is scheduled in May 2024 for mother's day. I'm really thinking of signing up. It's making me uncomfortable to think about, but that's probably why I should sign up for it. The jump from 10k to half marathon seems enormous but I've got 5 months to prepare so maybe i should do it. Keep up the great work! You have a new subscriber now 👍
Thank for this video and all the tips! I’m running my first half marathon/ first race ever on October 15! I’m so excited! Congratulations to you on such an awesome job with your race!❤️🔥🔥🔥
Talking bout determination n and how we humans can achieve more than we think., to try and push even when we re tired is Ok. But dont give advice on eating and suplements if you are not expert. Not evwryone is the same the Carb loading is a mith mostly. There are top athletes that don t load tons of carbs in fact they just eat normal regular. Carbs are a load if saturated suvars. It actually clogging the body and makes some sluggish. Do not give advice on nuteiwnt intakes because everyone is different.
Congrats, my first half marathon is coming up in two weeks and I’m excited to see what I can do. I’m not a natural runner either but the training has shown me that it is a mental challenge that you can conquer.
Some races will list that headphones are banned, especially if there are public road crossings or large fields. This is usually for safety. I've never seen such a rule actually enforced, so take that as you will.
Training for a half marathon for October 2024. Only 15 weeks left. Previously ran in 1:38 hrs. Want to finish in 1:25. Just watching your video and listening to your advice made me went sooo nervous and exited just for thinking I CAN ACHIVE IT! Now I gotta put in the work! Thank you very much for sharing your experience.
Training for my first half marathon, you said your feet were hurting, would you say the new shoes were not broken in, or do you wish you had gotten a different pair or brand?
Great video. I started running using an Apple Watch but eventually switched to Garmin. I highly recommend it if you are going to continue your running journey. You won’t have to worry about the battery 😊
God knows you can run a half marathon without gels, he also knows your training was far from perfect and you really need a heart rate monitor with a chest strap more than a garmin but he also knew you wouldnt fail to cross the finish line.
@@katrynaraye same i had ACL 30 years ago .i just wrote the comment as i found out the the big difference between 5k and half and full marathon was leg strength ..good luck you will do super i am sure .
If you are reading this and targeting your first half, focus on the training, including strength training. Too many running influencers push buying lots of products, and then newer runners think they need to do the same, the cycle repeats. You *don't* need to carb load for a half. You *don't* even need gels for a half. Run in the shoes you are accustomed to.
I’m sharing my personal experience. This is what worked for me. I didn’t mention you needed to buy anything other than the gels! Good running shoes, drinking water, drinking electrolytes and eating a sufficient amount of carbs is what I suggested. Thanks!
