Tbf I tried to make it as objective as possible with the not-so-many hours of play time that I had (relative to what some people have put into the game). I found the mechanics in AD that were not introduced in the video like a month after we started, but I'd still leave the rating the same bc taking the time to unlock those mechanics doesn't work well for many people as they'd rather play another game that starts you off with more variety in what you can do. Still think it's a good game though and I am still playing it currently 👍
I had hoped to see where Realm Grinder would be on the list, and thoughts about how it compares to others. While I of course would have liked for it to be in the video, I understand that one can't play EVERY game in a genre.
cookie clicker is elite also would've been a nice touch to also make an actual teirlist and spend a few seconds per game giving the ranking process a visual of dragging it on the category and also being able to compare and see all the other games' rankings
@@bird9188 Yeah, but still, Cookie Clicker, Antimatter Dimensions and Adventure Capitalist have been much more enjoyable experiences so far. Leaving my computer on to grind equipment levels just isn't fun past a certain point.
I have been researching idle/incremental game for the past 2 weeks and stumbled upon your vid. Amazing vid btw! Im currious tho, how much money are you willing to spend on a game in this genre? Im making a game myself but Im scared to release it as a paid product. Not because I think it doesnt deserve it (its actually the oposite and Im very proud of what I have so far) but because Im scared I would be asking too much and I also dont need the money but it would be very nice to have. Maybe having some sort of way to "donate"? Im not sure. Any help is appreciated!
Personally, I spend the bare minimum on myself or the games that I play. I think that's atypical, but if you've got a first release, it's probably a good idea to make it free and then have paid projects later once that original publicity is solidified. Feel free to reach out on Discord for more information.
Personally I'm much more into the smaller clickers that you are able to complete without devoting months on end to them. A few good ones I've like are Magic Research and Gnorp Apologue, each of which I was able to complete in a few days/weeks. I would reccomend them to you but I think that the last thing that you need is even more idle games lmao
Yw. We had so many that we needed pastebin to make it work. The one exception was due to copyright issues where it was explicitly mentioned that it needed to be directly in the description lol
If you're ever looking for another idle game, Cell Idle Factory Incremental, or CIFI is pretty good. The same dev has another that's decent, but I haven't played it nearly as much, so can't talk as much about it. CIFI has a very long progression system with multiple prestige layers. With that progression comes a lot of different features that all work differently and it's pretty neat. Sometimes it gets grindy, though.
Bro I remember grinding Clicker Heroes back in middle school. It turns out I was the filthy casual though, as I just checked and I only have 2,171.7 hours
I was actually going to make a comment about that game because I started playing it about a month after starting this video due to another comment that suggested it lol Great game 8/10, probably A tier.
Thanks, it's much appreciated coming from the developer of one of the games mentioned. Never thought this video or what I do would go that far lol I will most likely return to the game at some point and keep playing. I loved the game when I played it, especially during the first few weeks. I've also been super impressed with the content and the direction the game was going in back when I first started playing back in 2021. Thanks for the support ♥
I did actually end up playing Realm Grinder following the release of this video. I enjoyed it, solid B tier. I haven't heard of Pokeclicker, but I will check it out now.
Honestly, i really do not understand how you are not popular yet. I had an alt account that had non copyright music for 1 hour and 10 hour video on repeat, those got 10k views combined, this does not made sense when i edited on my phone by just copy and paste. It wasn't even a popular song. People who put in this much effort deserve so much more than
Thanks, the team really appreciates it. Part of success on RU-vid comes from consistency (which we're iffy with) and the other part is supplying what people want. Music is a very good way of doing that and I think the fact that this is a furry channel is a bit stigmatizing as well. Thanks for the support!
@@_TQ yeah, consistency is crucial to making a decent view count and retention rate. Look at what PewDiePie did, he didn't take a significant break for almost 10 years he posted daily too
How many more hours do you think it will take? I put 50ish into it w/ a lot of AFK time in between sessions and got like nowhere compared to some other videos I've seen.
@@_TQ the start is kinda grindy, the game is kina seperated in chapters where you focus mostly one one thing and have 1 goal but start to do other stuff also
It might be less popular due to the price being $10. I think every game mentioned was free with the exception being Cookie Clicker. Melvor Idle also has ~1/6th the number of Steam reviews as Cookie Clicker which might explain the feeling that the game is niche.
one thing that baffles me with idle games is that somehow the oppinions can get very subjective even tho most of theese games are extremely simple. (for the record, i didnt agree with almost any of the ratings here but im not complaining) also try trimps. its great
@@_TQ paper. Paper is shredded easily. If you fold like 1000 pieces of paper into a big paper sword its a weapon it can be used to beat people but can be cut by scissors.
Middle school was a dark time where it was either be left alone to play Terraria as nobody wanted to play with me (I was a cringey kid back then, so I understand why), or play Clicker Heroes and 8 ADHD jokes later, I chose Clicker Heroes.
