the blocks that sound crunchy and/or heavy are definitely my favorite. something about the moist sounding blocks just sickens me though… i wanna feel like the stuff im placing actually has weight to it. hearing my blocks go “GLURP SLORP GULP” ruins the immersion for me 😭

I think the reason the newer blocks have more unique sounds is because they probably have more funding and stuff to create the sounds! honestly a part of me loves the classic wood and stone sounds but the newer ones also sounds soo cool

I agree with most of this! I only had a few strong disagrees, like I dislike Sculk veins because they sound wet, and the sound of walking on grass is just so soft and comfy I feel like it deserves S tier or at least A for that alone. I'd also never heard the packed mud walking sound before and love how quiet and deep it is, very satisfying! I would've ranked it higher because of that. Also FYI the Presence Footsteps mod adds unique footstep sounds to a lot of blocks like glass for example. Definitely worth checking out if you like footstep sounds!

Calisite sounding a bit like Amethyst makes sense since that was where it originally, and still does, spawn. It's the block around the Amethyst in the geode. Never realized how many blocks reuse sounds!
