@@ckra2001 that’s why I glued both surfaces. Sewing it only puts a stitch under the foot that will irritate the foot until it is worn through, then it does absolutely no good. If stitching an inner sole and you don’t want it to wear out, you have to cover it with a sock liner. That is not the type of boot the customer bought.

@@FraldinhoBJJ leather shanks in and of themselves are not that supportive. The reason that PNW, and other boots that come from the factory with leather shanks, are so supportive is because of the design of the last and proper heel design that goes with that last. Redwings are designed to have a rigid shank. If we switched to only leather, the boots would collapse in the shank area. By adding leather to the existing shanks, it is adding more support, in addition to giving the arch area that curve in the soles.

@@rickbrown7067 all of our customers testimonials say it grips great. Even on snow and ice. I personally have had some on a pair of my boots for over a year and the grip has been no issues in all different weather conditions.

@@WyattDadCobblerCompany thanks for your reply! The thing is, I'm in the UK so it'd be a long way to send them. I have just been reading through some reviews and it seems that I am not the only one to have an issue with a lack of comfort, and also with the fact that they are a very odd shape for which you need a specifically-shaped foot; no amount of re-crafting would put that right, unless maybe if money was no object. In the meantime I bought some Loakes, which are miles better in quality and look great, but they aren't really made for walking either, so I think I am just going to wear sneakers from now on - I got some Gorals on the strength of a Rose Anvil video, and they fit like a glove. I'm resigned to the fact that boots aren't for me ...

They look great I guessing the price was $450-500 for the work performed

@@nacekozo there are some really good cobblers in the UK. If you ever need one, lets us know and we will get you their information. Finding the correct shape boot can be difficult sometimes, but it’s worth it once you find the right one.
