I Re-watched NORBIT as an Adult and... *movie commentary/reaction* 

Man Norbit never deserved any of the abuse. It’s a really good thing the people in town are friendly to him and that Norbit was able to get everyone else to attack the Latemore’s at the end

1:16- As fucked up as that is, I believe there are people who do that. Some people just are not fit to care for a child. There are people who only keep a child to reap selfish benefits from the government, or family court and end up abusing the child. This world is dark, I appreciate Eddie Murphy for being realistic in this introduction. 1:44- That's not lying, it's called encouragement I recommend it for everyone to try. 2:45- Forced kisses always make me cringe. Look at any early James Bond movie, same thing. 4:16- Donkey is more likeable than Rasputia, do not insult Donkey. 4:40- I'm really glad that Norbit gets a happy ending here by leaving his abuser and rekindles his love for Kate which is a much healthier relationship. Rasputia gaslighting Norbit angers me and she does it often. There's also physical abuse as well as emotional abuse. She breaks down Norbit's esteem by making him feel less than. I appreciate the humor in this too so it helps with such a serious topic. If there's any women or men out there who abuse their romantic partners, I hope that person leaves them immediately and files charges against you. 5:34- Abusers prey on insecurities that's how they get their power. Norbit is a timid, sweet and insecure guy so Rasputia uses his vulnerabilities to manipulate him to cling to her. 7:22- She gaslights him often then she has the audacity to call Norbit for seeing Kate(Who treats him way better). That's where Rasputia is not only a hypocrite, but a manipulative power monster. Her keeping Norbit's self esteem down making him feel emasculated gives her control and Norbit beneath her. When Norbit spent more time with Kate, he starts to get his own power back and believes in himself more. Rasputia doesn't like it when Norbit has self worth. She wants him to feel worthless so he's easier for her to control. 11:22- Abusers do that alot, they tell blatant lies to prevent their victim from walking away. I appreciate Eddie Murphy for making this film to shed light for male abuse survivors, while adding tasteful humor in it so it's not too sad. 11:56- Kristen Schaal plays Mabel Pines in Gravity Falls by the way. 12:42- Notice how Rasputia is that much in power she doesn't take on Norbit's last name. Traditionally when people get married the woman takes on her husband's name(She can hyphenate if she wants to, if I was married I'd hyphenate) and yet Rasputia doesn't because she is technically the one in power, since she's abuses Norbit he's too scared to question her on changing her last name. I abhor abusers, whether they're male or female I equally hate them. 15:11- No, abusers are good at hiding their violent tendencies in public. They wouldn't be able to gaslight people if others saw how they actually are in private. 20:12- Thank you!!!!! Rasputia is 100% a narcissist. She puts on a facade of false confidence while tearing down other people. She's also a bully as well, and I'm so glad she got her karma in the end. 30:52- I don't understand why people shit on this movie so much. They wouldn't be so harsh if the genders were reversed and the woman was the abused victim and the man was the abuser because people prefer that narrative by making men always be the bad guy. People like to blame men for everything, but keep this bullshit false narrative that women are absolutely perfect angels and do nothing wrong. It's so dumb. Also Rasputia being overweight wasn't the point of the film. The film is proof that women are just as capable of being a toxic, vile, narcissistic, abusive twat. People forget this fact, women initiate the abuse in relationships just as men do. Sometimes more than men in certain cases. I think the reason why people shit on this film is because they don't like that there's a male abuse victim and the woman is the villain. It doesn't fit their narrative when females are the villains doing bad things, they want men to be the villains because it gives them an excuse to bash men all the time and lecture men on how much they suck like this one RU-vidr named MisadventuresofNaomiJ who bashes male characters in her movie reactions all the time. It's really quite irritating.
