I love how real and genuine you are with your reviews. Half the books you mentioned everyone always just says they loved it but don’t point out the small flaws that I saw too. And thank you for educating us on tw for The Last Housewife. You’re the only booktuber that I’ve seen mention those! ♥️ love your mind & opinions Mel pls keep blessing us with your content!
I just made this account and decided to do this challenge for my first video, so I looked up other people's takes on it and yours is probably the best one I've seen. I really like how you talk about your opinions of the books and the plot, because a lot of people focus on the meta 'this is the synopsis, these are the tropes', I also liked how you weren't afraid to say you didn't like some of the endings.
I've been to Paris 7 times for work purposes and everytime people are so rude and unwelcoming :/ maybe because I'm an Arab Muslim (cuz racism and islamophobia are so normalized there and Muslims don't have any human rights) so yeah it's not a "stereotype", it's true (maybe not all but the majority).
i’m the same, i love thrillers simply because i love the adrenaline you get from the jump scares and the fear you get when you read. but if it’s clowns i’m throwing up
Dang, ok Mel coming through with all the biggest thrillers of the year in one epic vlog! 🤩 If you’re looking for more crème de la crème of the 2022 thrillers I implore you to pick up Notes on An Execution. Truly top tier! 👌👌
I dont know why! But putting on ur videos and your voice is just so smooth! It helps me read! Like ur videos are great videos i put on while I read! Love them
I want to let u know that your videos help me calm down from having a emotional breakdown and being pregnant with baby 5. Your such a inspiration to me.
Mel and her reading vlogs!!! Heavens in earth....Mel talk pure bliss aesthetic top notch....and plz plz consider starting a podcast we need more of you!!!!!!!!!
I have read three of Lucy Foleys books this year and after two 2 Stars, I gave the Paris Apartment 4 Stars because I REALLY liked it 🤣 amazing how different people can feel about the same thing 😅
does the paris apartment go back and forth a lot between different timelines or is it chronological? because i can’t deal with non chronological books haha
I’ve figured that Ruth Ware isn’t for me, I’ve never been able to get through her books until The IT girl and I didn’t enjoy that one. At first I was like oh this is okay? within the first half but then it ended… and took ages to get to that ending because I was just like okay, hurry up? I was really bored. And I’m so scared to read the house across the lake but now you’ve been someone who has enjoyed it I’m gonna give it a chance. My fave sager is 100% the last time I lied. Omg the last house wife is my fave thriller release of the entire year - it’s SOOOO good
I love your channel and you should try reading some Lisa Jewell Books, she's very good at writing romance-ish thriller books. I recommend Watching You, I Found You and Then She Was Gone!
@@MelReads absolutely. I've heard he's got one more coming out and then he's taking a break. I really enjoyed some of his reads so I hope he can get back on track. Ware is always a middle of the road for me.
I was disappointed by it.....didn't hate it, but definitely not a top thriller. I wanted more answers from Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers! Spoilers! Spoilers! the brother Ben on why he did all that he did, particularly why he let Nick "have him" on a dark cobblestone street. I mean, why did Ben go SO FaR?? Why hang it over Nick's head like he might tell the secret to anyone at anytime? Ben was sketchy to me. Does this make sense?
I recently subscribed to your channel and I'm happy that you liked The House Across the Lake. As for me, I hated the twist and I may break up with riley sager soon 😶
@@hannadavis6867 like, a good twist or a bad twist? I'm one of those people who loved the twist in Behind Her Eyes; is the twist in House Across the Lake "similar", ie, devisive?
@@strawberrylime33 kinda yes. The twist comes out of nowhere. Just like in behind her eyes. If you loved the twist in behind her eyes, I'd say this might be your thing.
I believe every Mel's review of book since our taste is quite similar. I've been following her since and read every book she recommended and i always end up like it too. Lucy Foley's writing is not my style, for some reason it's a bit draggy and not intriguing me enough..
